Karen o was at oberlin as a voice major. She is a phenomenal singer, and she was studying voice. I don’t understand how you can say the drummer played since he was 5, and than gloss over Karen’s extensive classical training. She would not have gotten into to Oberlin, otherwise. She wouldn’t have been able to sing the way she sings and not lose her voice. Coloratura soprano. Oberlin is a great school for musicians and artists. She trained and she sang in a rock band. Those things are not mutually exclusive.

Her background in studying classical voice at Oberlin doesn’t influence the music near as much as the drummers obvious Jazz school influence, as you can literally hear and see the jazz background coming thru in their music, not to mention the fact that he plays traditional grip as well. While Karen O’s vocals are much much more experimental, raw, and almost as far away from any traditional voice training that you can get.

@ Do you know why Gen Z rips off Millennial clothes? Because Millennials were the first generation to catalog their fashion on the Internet. And we all know Gen Z thinks that the world started with the Internet. Millennial and Gen X fashion was actually a lot more original because it was born out of actual function and utility. Gen Z doesn’t actually do anything but watch TikTok so they only know how to rip photos offline. I’ve also written similar contents on several different channels but Gen Z also doesn’t read. Gen Z is just the ripoff generation.
