it was such a fantastic evening. worth waiting over 40 years for. if only they would make it a regular event.

Superb - first time I've seen this and it's the H17 I remember from their first gigs in Sheffield. Classic.

People who think Glenn shouldn't be there might be interested to know he was the Human League's original choice for lead singer in 1977 before Phil Oakey. But he wasn't available at that time.

Thank You for posting !! I was lucky to have seen Human League twice here in the States, but Heaven 17 have never toured here. This is fascinating as I never thought I'd see these seminal albums performed live. The sound from this recording is impressive and I'm sure it sounded amazing at the gig. It's a shame Phil didn't take part but still a blast to hear these songs played on the original equipment as they still sound fresh in 2021 !!

It was a very rare event, just had to go. Pity Phil wasn't there from the league I often see him when in town.

Oakley is a fool for turning down these opportunities. If he’s worried about his loyalty to the girls they can sing on I Don’t Depend On You! Obviously he prefers to live off Dare for the rest of his days. Anyhow the girls sang the early songs live in 1980 and later. Plus there’s two female singers here so what’s his problem? It a shame Adrian couldn’t get his slides out too.

@ivanmoore35032 жыл бұрын
Because founder member of the human league Martyn ware asked Philip Oakey since 2010 if he would be interested in playing reproduction travelogue live and he wasn't interested but heaven 17 did a beautiful job loved the Sheffield show a lovely night.🌝

"This is the real deal" he says, when he didn't even sing on the original recordings! I love the records, have done since I was a teenager in the '80s, but this just seems like glorified karaoke to me.
