This is not the original Hebrew Mathew, it was compiled hundreds of years ago from our existing Bibles. The original gospel of the Hebrews was destroyed around the 4th century AD with the persecution of the Ebionites first Jewish followers of Jesus. Ancient historians who have kept around 20 lines documented also have stated that the original gospel of the Hebrews did not contain the virgin birth story or the wise men. This part of the story was interpolated into the original gospel of the Hebrews around the 2nd century AD by Roman and Greek scribes who followed the legendary stories of virgin births such as Hercules and Nimrod and Horus. The legend of Nimrod even states 2000 BC that his wise men saw a star signaling the birth of a child (Abraham) and then Nimrod ordered the killing of babies sounds familiar and the pagan celebration of Nimrod was even done on the 25th December by the Romans, Greeks and Egyptians prior to Jesus Show less REPLY

Interesting, I attend a traditional conservative synagogue and our rabbi actually did a teaching how the Lord's Prayer is very similar to the the Amidah. Actually he spent two Shabbats on it.

What I find deceptive about his lecture here is that the original New testament and gospels were written entirely in Greek and they are not Hebrew or Jewish documents at all, but Roman propaganda. Do not bring up Isaiah 53, because there is no virgin mentioned there, and the reference to a pregnant maiden obviously implies that she is married, and with child. I want to clarify something, for many jews belivers in Yeshua, Yeshua is God Himself. But not only that in the New Testament, Yeshua is the Spirit of God, it is the Holy Spirit and is the Spirit of the Messiah. But when Yeshua came to earth, He only came as Messiah. My friend went to the site in Saudi Arabia! He almost got arrested by a guard but ended up making friends instead. He showed me pictures of his hike. The ancient historians church elders have written that the original Mathew which was known as the Gospel of the Hebrews as used by the Nazorenes and Ebionites DID NOT HAVE THE FIRST 2 CHAPTERS OF THE VIRGIN BIRTH NARRATIVE so this means this 14th century manuscript is not based on the original Mathew written in the 1st century AD

Hi Nehemia, If I want to understand the authentic Hebrew text translated to English to accurately read the bible, and any other books that were essentially written in Hebrew, like Matthew, which bible translation should I read? The Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) or The World Messianic Bible (WMB)? I don't have time for errors. Everyone raves about the KJV, but it's clearly inaccurate and flawed. Time to go back to the roots. Update: Never mind, neither of those seem to be accurate either. Man, what in the world do you read?

Brandi Na'Cole as long as you understand that LORD in the king James was used instead of YHWH after the tradition of men. the king James is the most accurate English translation. I believe yah protected the translation. even allowed his name to be lost for what I believe is a couple reasons. first man doesn't really deserve his name and also if we don't know his name there will be a lesser judgement for taking his name in vain so he's actually doing mankind a service as well as protecting His name from the world dragging it through the mud. look at how the world uses Jesus Christ as a cuss word all the time. men, woman, young, and old everywhere you go whenever someone gets mad..... He recommends for Christians the NRSV: New Revised Standard version. For Jews, JPS: Jewish Publication Standard. He also mentions the NASB.

Shem Tov's is the least trustworthy Hebrew Matthew. I wish people on this subject would start default to other texts. Which Hebrew word for South is used of the Queen of Sheba? And does the Hebrew call Simon in Matthew 26 a Jar-Maker or a Leper? And would I be correct in assuming every appearance of Aion/Aionios/Aionios ect in the Greek is a form of Olam in the Hebrew?

I think Jesus name is fine the way it is, when Yeshua is translated into Greek it becomes Iesous, which when translated into English means Jesus.

Iesous is pronounced Yeesous, and is not the same aEnglish. But closer than Jesus. However Yeshua is actually Joshua when brought to english. So it's not exactly as powerful as Yeshua which means salvation or Yehova Saves.
