The Heights Neighborhood in Houston, Texas an UltraHD 4K Real Time Driving Tour.

Join me on an UltraHD car ride through the historic Houston Heights neighborhood Houston on a late Monday afternoon. We will explore Heights Blvd. and the surrounding areas by car as the sun goes down.
On this drive you will see historic homes, large oak trees, and unique local businesses. People are getting off of work, but it is late enough that most of the traffic from rush hour has cleared out. Houston Heights has a small town feel despite being just a few miles away from downtown Houston, Texas. The neighborhood used to be its own separate town, but is now part of the City of Houston.
Families enjoy living in the Heights due to the large houses, shorter commutes and many local businesses. Heights Boulevard is known for having many beautiful historic homes, most of which have been transitioned into local businesses such as law firms.
The Heights also boasts a large assortment of restaurants, both independently owned and parts of local chains. Tacos, kolaches, ice cream parlors and brunch options abound.
Fitness and outdoors enthusiasts appreciate the parks and trail system that runs through this part of Houston. The Heights has easy access to White Oak Bayou, which is part of an even larger system of walking, biking, and running trails.
There are several independently owned local bicycle shops in the Heights, as well as a large variety of options for gyms and unique fitness studios. The large oak trees provide lots of shade for people looking to go for a comfortable evening stroll through the Heights.
This video was filmed in October of 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic. You may see some people wearing masks and other protective gear or modifying their regular behavior in order to promote social distancing.
Look closely out the window as we drive past some of the homes and see if you can spot who has already put up their Halloween decorations!

Hi, Mary. I can still see some familiar areas but it has changed a lot. I was born in Heights Hospital in 1955. Went to Harvard Elementary and then to Hamilton Jr High. Saw a news story about 8 months ago on Heights Hospital being closed due to non payment of rent. I have not heard if it reopened or not.

I grew up in Houston, lived there until I was 29. But, while living there never once visited the neighborhood. It was not until much later that I went there, when I returned for a family get-together at the home of a niece. Thanks for posting this. I had no idea how beautiful and special a place it is.
