the safety rating we all want is ECE 22.06, which exceeds DOT. This helmet featured is both an ECE 22.06 helmet and has the DOT. IMO, the Snell helmets are way too hard and transmit more energy to the head/brain than an ECE 22.06 helmet. This is a really nice dirt helmet, nice review.

Had a Fox V2 helmet and now use a Klim F2 Pro Carbon after a “bonking”... Love it, the weight difference is next level.

I use the leatt 3.5, great hard shell and good foam inside.

My buddy wiped out going down a rock section. He wore a Fly helmet, not the smart version. Search and Rescue took 6-7 hrs to get him out. Air lifted to Vancouver. Helmet had a huge crush impact, saved his life. +1 for Fly.

I've always loved Fly Racing helmets, and their other riding gear is pretty solid too from my experience. But love the way their helmets look and the way they fit. I've worn the fly kinetic for years

DOT is garbage rating. ECE 22.06 it one of the best. SNELL is too stiff for motorcycle use. It’s more appropriate for car racing. Plus snell helmets are heavier because of the extra foam and material

That helmet is sweet. I like the idea of a smart helmet but they need to make them more affordable

I had a fly formula cp and I smacked my head knocked myself out and got concussed a few months ago, replaced it with an alpinestars sm5 and came off in a race doing 120kmh a few weeks ago and now I’ve moved to a 6D atr-2 and it’s the best helmet I’ve ever used

Do they sell that one with the App? I'd likely not use that. I've had a fly racing helmet and liked it a lot. I went with LS2 last one and have liked that alot for venting and have crash tested it hard a few times. High side into a tree head first. I did like the fly carbon one I had it. Mine aged out. I also tested that one for sure.

Correction, you do not need a DOT helmet when riding offload. Use a Klim light weight helmet with Krio protection, super awesome helmet and half the price of that crashoelectro Fly helmet.

Garbage compared to a Fly Formula helmet plus you can get great deals on the Fly helmets. Like they say sometimes you get what you pay for. If anything is worth an investment hopefully it's your head 🤦♂

You don’t need a DOT. But testing for motorcycle helmets and bicycle helmets have different tests for strength. It would be a bad decision to ride moto without a DOT helmet. DBC has a limited amount of knowledge when if comes to testing and standards. A mountain bike helmet/snowmobile(NON-DOT)will crumple and allows objects to go inside the helmet like a rock, much easier than a moto helmet. Mtb/snow helmets are built to a different standard than moto. I believe one of the standard tests is a 10 pound weight dropped onto a helmet from set distance. The weight will go right through the vent and other parts of the helmet much easier on a non DOT helmet. That’s just a small part of why DOT/ECE and motorcycle helmets are what you should be using

That’s all good n well buttttttttttttt only works if you have cell reception and the cell phone with you. Worthless if not. Don’t spend the extra money and just get the regular formula and get a LitPro if you realllyyyy have to have that info. Had the helmet for 2 days.

Finally ditching the old Sony and getting a GoPro, thank you!
@onthethrottle71043 ай бұрын
Serious? Go Pro's are the worst cameras available. They stop recording for now reason and when you don't want them to, the sound will not record for no reason at times, the scene looks like you're in a round bubble, and the batteries get hot and stop working. They are called "NoGo" cameras for a reason. Hope it works out...

@@onthethrottle7104 True, GoPro cameras have issues no doubt about it. The Sony he has been using is really outdated and because of the shape of it they do not work well on a chin mount. You may have noticed how many of his videos the FOV is too low and narrow. The GoPro will at least be an improvement over that.

I wouldn't be putting anything near my head with bluetooth or wifry, that's the issue with everything these days, actions cams, all the same, most you can't turn it off, wireless com units etc - the etymology of SMART is HARM or SHARP PAIN - something to consider if you value your exposure to radiation and its health impacts, never mind lithium and wifi devices and the ability to remotely access them and do god knows what... recent examples spring to mind in the middle east.. Other than that, happy wifrying, pick your poison, what good is a helmet if it gives you a brain tumor
@cdnmoto8493 ай бұрын

Agreed. A few thousand studies showing the dangers of bluetooth, cel phone radiation, EMF's and an explosion in cancers when you hold the devices anywhere near the body, yet you hear nothing about it in the media. Won't catch me using one.

You get more radiation from 10 minutes in the sun than with a lifetime of a cell phone up your keister.
