What a great film 🎥 the 60s and 70's were two amazing decades for film making. Rip Kirk Douglas and Richard Harris

A True story. A few years ago, divers retrieved some barrels. They had heavy water in them from German production at the factory .

Another great classic of the time. Better than the stuff they try to put it now.

One of best Nazi war film with excellent fully active of military exercise scenes along the excited "heavy water sabotage", love the two lead stars Kirk & Richard.

Apparently, Kirk Douglas and director Anthony Mann patched up their differences from Spartacus in 1960 (Douglas fired Mann) to produce this really good movie.

They don’t and can’t make movies of this caliber anymore. 😢

I saw this movie. At the Base movie theater on a Sunday matinee. Can't remember the year. Late 60s, early 70s.

The Malcolm Arnold Score sounds very much like "The Bridge on the River Kwai" No?

1:18 Sorry, have to comment how stupid the writers was not to have them shoot at the damn plane instead of skiing away from it.

great film, but...as much as I love Malcom Arnold,,his music just does not work in this film...I think Dimitri Tiomkin should have written the music for this...although, then it would seem even more like Guns of Navaronne than it did
@williamsnyder56165 ай бұрын
Tiomkin's score for "The Guns of Navarone" was among his best. The score which made him a superstar was in 1937, "Lost Horizon." At that time, he was friends with director Frank Capra, who gave him a chance. The rest, as they say, was history.

So far from the truth, Hollywood at its worst. The real story was perfect, this is just so much fluff.
