Over the course of the last century, the US has silently encircled the world with a web of military bases unlike any other in history. No continent is spared. They have shaped the lives of millions, yet remain a mystery to most. Featuring Gore Vidal and Noam Chomsky.

In my country we've had US Special Forces base since 1978 called Playa Grande (Long Beach), placed by the Jimmy Carter office, it's purpose was to train and provide military advice to the army against the Guerrilla Army. It was closed in 1996 after the peace sign, re-opened in 2009 now belonging to the US Marines and got re-purposed to provide training and advice against the drug cartels and the narco-wars. Great Documentary thank you for uploading it. Cheers from Guatemala!

That may be true but bear in mind that we have a 100% volunteer army. There are plenty of careers to pick that offer benefits and tuition reimbursement(as opposed to G.I. Bill) other than the military. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they went so others don't have to. Politicians WOULD bring back the draft if we all refused to sign up. ""Order out of chaos " then on to total control of the planet and pop. by reducing us..6billion or more. Military protects EVERYONE. You can hate it all you like but you and these half wits in this Documentary haven't the slightest clue what the world would look like today if the US wasn't everywhere. there will ALWAYS be war and there will ALWAYS casualties. You live in your own little world where you think in this day in age there should be peace. while I agree with you we should have peace but others even outside the US want POWER. there will ALWAYS be people who want power. there are smart people out there who are very thankful for the US. then there are ignorant people who can't see past their own stink. hate it all you want but it changes nothing. there will ALWAYS be things you and the populace doesn't know or will never understand.

@@Sleetjuh as an American I'm sorry you don't like USA but what most people around the world don't realize is allot of Americans dont support the ideas and actions carried out by our government and military. Our government doesn't represent the will of the people. It represents the will of corporations and elites. Corruption is rampant and our military are basically mercenaries at the will of the highest bidders. I appreciate the need for a military but when the leaders who control that military are bribed at every turn then it is no longer representative. You want someone to blame? Blame the elites like the Rothschild and Rockefellers and other elite families who actually control the world and it's militaries from behind the curtains, not the American people.

Birds of a feather often flock together. There's a reason why the 5 Eyes remains the biggest trans-national international intelligence agreement; incidentally populated and managed by countries with an Anglo-Saxon background. EU was always just a ruse; it was a front created to ensure that European powers are always kept under American check. WW2 was a big scare and a wake up call for the Americans who continue to view the Germans and Japanese with suspicion even today, behind all that facade of alliances and free trade.

The Rothschild family owns the largest single percentage of the Federal Reserve System, and their allies (Zionist International Central Bankers) of the Western world run the show. That's why they built all the institutions in their ruling order (U.N., EU, ECB, IMF, World Bank, BIS, etc. etc. etc. If you look at history. England got us into both WWI, and WWII (and the Middle East also). We were also Britain's defender and ally and supplier in all these wars (even after Congressional Resolutions/Declarations of Neutrality and that we wanted no involvement or foreign entanglements). I wish the video would have discussed the number of instances where the gov't of a particular country ordered our military to leave, yet we refused even though SOFA or other treaties obligated us to leave when requested. I'm talking about straight up that gov't legitimately ordered us out and we illegitimately refused.

Oh you're absolutely right! I mean what right do we have to be on Japanese soil? We should immediately pack up and leave because how does the saying go? "To the victor, the spoils DON'T go." Right? And while we are putting our tail between our legs and packing up, we should ask them what else we can give them to make up for all of the years we inconvenienced them after they attacked us as part of their plan to add our lands to their "Empire of the Rising Sun". While we are at it why don't we apologize for all of the US civilians that they imprisoned and killed in POW camps, and for all of the American soldiers they killed in the Bataan Death March. I mean, we are such imperial aggressors. And since when are there consequences for actions anyways? Oh and speaking of consequences, have you ever wondered how the Japanese auto industry got started? ' You haven't you say? Well let me tell you... We rebuilt that country's industry and then added that much again to it after the war. Our government probably gave the Japanese more money and equipment in today's money than they gave us during the covid pandemic. You're right, we should stop being so selfish.

Police Departments do not need Weapons of WAR, or vehicles with .50 automatic rifles mounted on them..For these Soldiers; PLEASE do NOT become a cop! ...You arent in Helmand Province anymore! .We are already occupied by our own forces...Just a parralel to this story, as we downwind our military complex from War; We have seen a rise of Police "Use of force" incidents, that now Plaque the United States...Think about it. Many of our MPs become LEOs in the US and happy to be home. There are two things never gets explained in this video. Yes, the troops can get row.dy at times to rid the boredom but no one absolutely no accepts attacks against the nationals of that country. We have a military prison full of those who committed crimes while in other countries. I know being a disabled vet, over Staff Development but also touring my ppl thru that prison as well as the Federal prisons. Negotiations were made long ago by that country's leadership long before those troops arrived. Some of the troops are very young and learning the ropes on their journey but some fall into the wrong crowd who do taunt and dare them. Know all too well as well. What the ppl of that country doesn't see is the long days worked by the soldiers nor do they care. The military gives out harder discipline than that country could ever do to them...again they don't see that it is called the UCMJ; Uniform Code of Military Justice. No military member is to cause an international crisis or incident and it will be dealt with by the military. Even here in the US if a military member is caught with drugs, I do know at the bases I worked at, they are stripped of their rank, have them clear the premises then face the consequences. It is a Federal, Military operations that every soldier who walks the face of this earth has to answer to since they took that Oath as a soldier. In every country, the military has a brig....on ships has a brig...in the US many brigs and prison barracks. As for the rise in the Use of Force with the LEOs, they are given show and use of forces guidelines. Some incidents are provoked if an LEO gets hurt or anyone elseis harmed then arrest have to be made; lest the media only shows you what they want you to see. Sometimes you need to keep an open mind and eventually, you will get the whole truth not just what the media wants you to believe. It has always been like that in the headlines. I just hope we are smarter ppl in our communities, country and other countries that know this difference. I do agree there have been those not suited for the job from local, state and federal entities but that doesn't give anyone the right to say Police; as literally using all LEOs accountable for others actions. That isn't the real world nor is it reality. Many LEOs have been killed due to these rioting and looting protest. No one ever talks about them or really says prayers for their families. Those who are truly in the wrong will be dealt with thru the US Courts; no one else is the judge and jury except for GOD.

Some of these people spend too much time wondering around in their thoughts. They conjure up motives, as if there were a person, one person, who has many motives for the things we do as a country. As a country, we must set policies and then go about implementing those policies. Some tasks we take.on, take years to come to fruition. The actual motive may not be obvious on the surface. Once a decision is made, people aren’t constantly rehashing the motives for what we do. They just stay busy doing it. I believe the reason for the procurement of military basis are made out of specific strategies, and once those decisions are made, there’s too much to do than to stand around second guessing all the time. I do not believe that land for bases is taken to quench a thirst by the US for land. We never use this land for general commerce, strictly using it for military purposes.

War is an external manifestation of a mind that is in conflict with itself. Each one that gives his consent either directly or indirectly is responsible for the continuation of war in this world of human beings. War begins in the human mind, after it was carefully developed and distorted in the schools were tools are being created, tools that are going to be used such in the waging of war. A human mind that is unable to recognize their reflection in another human being, and vice versa, carries the diseased state within, the diseased state of division, separation and thus that human being will blindly go to work in a factory that produces weapons. Who is waging the war then, without workers producing weapons? It is a safe excuse to claim that we are against the war and the governmental authorities that are waging war. *The war starts at the arms factory where workers work.* It is also a safe excuse for these people to hide themselves behind the "need" for work, thus giving their consent to the beginning of the war. And the executioners were a profession once. Is there a difference? Every war is waged by the workers, not because they know what they are doing, but because they are blind and dowdy-minded in what the boss and every boss will command. The lack of education creates submissive subhumans who do not have a place to exist among us because they are the first to pick up the gun to kill the brother and sister, the father and the mother in a neighboring state, in the neighbors' home, in the next room ~
