Robert Alvarez is another unsung hero. He never had a big show, but he directed so much shows, including Genndy T. and C. McKracken's shows' and many Disney Afternoon shows.

That's not the entire truth about when Dan worked for Family Guy. On animated shows, episode directors are in charge of the board artists, timing of the animation, and basically making sure the epsidoe gets done. He sometimes added jokes. The director will often give notes to the storyboard artists and maybe make some storyboards himself. A voice director is a completely different job.
