Sister Regina Dierson it is wonderful to learn about those living life and making choices so different from our own. While it is impossible to fully understand all our various choices, it is important to keep listening and learning as we keep trying. As a Protestant from the southern US (and not a fervent one), the choice to become a nun seems so foreign, but also immensely interesting. And, surely, theirs is a life vastly more selfless than the vast majority of us live. 🌻

I grew up Catholic and attended private Catholic school until eighth grade. This reminded me of simpler times in my life when friend of mine and myself spent an entire day and night at a convent with nuns we were wanting to be nuns at the time. It was a beautiful, peaceful experience and I'll never forget those lovely nuns there. I'm now 49 and obviously didn't choose that life I have five grown children and six grandchildren. This popped up in my recommended videos and I'm glad I watched it, these woman are such giving and caring earth angels. Thank you for this reminder of a better time in my life,it was beautiful.

I grew up in rural Africa in a tiny village called Bedford that had a very old and established convent. I always marveled at the beautiful gardens, the birds flocked in droves to the spiritual peace of it and I loved visiting the Stations of the Cross. Even though I was Protestant, the nuns always welcomed me with great love. They came from all over the world, far away from their homes and families, to serve African communities. I was in awe of their devotion to the Lord, as I am now of these precious sisters. God bless each one of them abundantly.

When I was very young, I remember seeing a Nun for the very first time. What I remember, even as a child, was the peace of knowing that this person would be someone I could trust and someone who would protect me. Too this day, that moment has stayed within my heart. I have the deepest most profound respect and admiration for all Nuns. What they do is amazing and should never ever be lost upon us as human beings. Every time I see a Nun in Habit, a peace comes across me. It's as if GOD had shone a light upon my heart. In that moment, I feel totally safe and very happy. The world may change, but Nuns will always be the backbone of GOD's magnificent grace. 🌹

Same here as the comments below. Just found out my closest and oldest friend is sick with COVID. I’ve been up all night and am not sure how I feel because right now I am numb. I’ve learned not to question things like this when they come around in my life, but to just say “thank you” and pay attention. May I humbly ask for prayers for my friend and her husband who is also sick? They are wonderful people. She has saved many children from horrible life situations for almost 30 years and cares about each one like they were her own. She has never had children of her own, but still has many. God bless you all and keep praying. We will get through this together.

First, beautifully produced. I originally went to college to be a secondary history teacher, so this appeals to the history buff in me. I love learning. Even when I disagree with the beliefs of whatever subjects I may study, I respect the historical value of it's existence. And I respect those people involved. I am neither Episcopalian nor Catholic, and would never have become a nun. Though if I am to be completely honest, I did pretend to be a nun when playing as a child. I am a southern evangelical Christian woman and stand firm in my theological beliefs, but I would absolutely love to learn more from the beautiful (not worrying about external aesthetics) women in this film. I believe we all have much to learn from one another. The God who created me also created each of these women, as well as those people who happen to read these posts. It is my job to love each one, the way God loves them. I didn't even begin to deeply study my Bible until I was probably in my mid thirties. If there were just more who duplicated the acts of these women in their compassion and concern for humanity. I would love to visit a convent (this one?) to learn and absorb. I'm far from perfectly knowledgeable about all things Scripture, but I do believe it is living, breathing and continually speaking to us. But how quiet are we being in order to hear it? My God loves his creations. He longs for a personal relationship with EACH of His children. As long as someone is teaching the absolute Truth of the Bible, I will offer up the highest level of my respect. As stated, I am not, and never will be, a nun, but I love my sisters in habit the same as I love my sisters in blue jeans down the street at the non-denominational church in which my membership resides, the same as I love my sisters in the conventional/traditional church pews who only wear their Sunday Best to Sunday morning service. It's not what we wear in our service to help further The Kingdom, it is the work we actually do. The service we give. It is the love we give. The question one must ask is, "Is our ministry one that brings glory to The Father or is it one where we want all the credit and glory for ourselves?" That is the key question for me. If I am serving me rather than my Father, I am not really in service, am I? Just something to contemplate. Again, thank you so much to these sisters for allowing us a brief glimpse into your lives and home. Thank you for your service to the children and the sick. Your family grows exponentially daily with the number of lives touched by something as simple as a bowl of soup or a washcloth. God be with you on your road to the health and healing of those around you. I know the enemy will attack, just never give him a foothold. Blessings on your families; the ones you came from, the ones you minister to and the one you have become a part of in your community. You are being the hands and feet, as well as the heart, of our Lord and Savior. It isn't easy and it is a calling not many can choose to heed. May our Father in Heaven continue to bless you and your work!! ~~ from your simple Southern Baptist sister in Jesus. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for your love of God and your service. When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a nun so that I could marry God. I've always loved Him so much. I know that I have lived my life, yet there has always been a part of me that longs for the dream I had as a girl. There's always been something missing. I serve and do everything I can as a wife, mother, and grandmother. My purpose is to serve God first. The distraction of the life I've lived makes it more difficult. Pray for me that I won't allow anything to get in the way. Amen.

There are Lutheran and Episcopal nuns. Too bad their denominations do not support their efforts; Catholic nuns, Methodist religious women, Lutheran and Episcopal nuns did so much for healthcare, education and social welfare and social justice both back in the 1800's and now. Without their sacrifices, America would not have the advancements in those fields as we do now.

I’m still attracted to the monastic life, though married for 57 years, have 4 children several grand children and almost 3 great grand children. I was a teacher for many years, working with children with very special needs. May God continue to bless this love order. 🇦🇺

This was great! Recently I saw a Documentary similar to this about Prince Phillip’s Mother who started an Order of Nuns. Her family treated her terribly so she left and did so many wonderful things to help anybody that needed help. She was an unexpected guest at Queen Elizabeth II Coronation and nobody recognized her in a beautifully flowing grey Habit!

Have you seen The Crown on Netflix? The 2nd Season shoes Prince Phillip bringing her back to the Windsor Castle and he learns so much about his Mother he never knew. She had no money and no where left to go. He had always thought she didn’t love him. He was so wrong.

What an uplifting story. Nuns educating pregnant women, orphaned children. No abuse. No indentured servitude in laundry workhouses.

I was baptized by the Episcopal Church in 1957 and the age of 6 months. I was confirmed at age 12. I taught Sunday school from age 16 until 18. I was married in the Episcopal Church at age 25 in 1982. I never knew about Nuns in the Episcopal or they even existed. What a wonderful thing to know.

How blessed they are . I am Catholic and have been thinking about vocation. I have been down the road that Harriet went down . With parties and all that . Now I feel that God is calling me to a more gentle type of fun. I loved the story of how this Anglican order came to be . May they be blessed

This documentary showed in my feed and in the midst of the night where I get awoken to check my dogs and house...I felt compelled to watch this. As a laity in the Catholic Church, I have always worked with Sisters of many congregations and was always inquisitive of their lives behind convents' walls and this documentary has shown me that not only Catholic sisters are out there. Thank you Sisters for all you do and for being Faithful in Prayers! Prayers have done miracles in my life. May God and our Mother Mary bless and guide you always.🙏

In my 60's now, and a lifelong agnostic -- (NOT an atheist!) -- I was truly moved by the telling of the founding, history and fortunes of this small sect of religious women. Their fundamental peace, found within their dedication to (1) obedience, (2) resistance to temptation, (3) commitment to work and (4) prayer is admirable and, in their quiet way, truly spectacular. Through their belief in their god, these women have found a way of life which is profoundly beautiful - for them living it and for us, too, looking in. Thank you for this loving and lovely look into their lives, so far removed from that which most of us live today. 🌻

In italy nuns were active in many areas of society and community, you would see them out in town on public transport , working in hospitals , schools , orphanages and in churches of course . Don't know why but them were always loved and greatly respected __ don't see many if any nowadays __as a orphaned child i saw them as a reassuring presence __ì
