New Chelsea owners bought the club, saw loopholes in FFP and are exploiting it. They are creating their own framework, you can't copy Man City and Real Madrid, because you'll only be an imitation. Innovate correctly, and Chelsea may dominate Europe.

Todd Boehly is a smart thinker... preparing for the rains in dry season. Wise and intelligent decision to buy young players with long contract.

Another aspect which goes unmentioned is that these deals are also to facilitate future sales due to limited income from our stadium. For one of the biggest clubs in the EPL, we have a relatively small stadium in comparison to the top 6; plus with limited future expansion. The club has to get creative in order to generate revenue. It's messy and unprofessional towards the players at times but sadly necessary. Boehly and Co. have been arguably more ruthless than Roman. They've had to streamline their approach. To be fair they've also drastically reduced the wage bill and most players are on heavily incentivised deals. They maybe long term but very low (average wage bill of 60K-a-week).

It’s called buying up young players, giving them lengthy contracts, developing them at the club, then selling them at a profit, in order to buy more players. Couple that with the Cobham youth development and Chelsea have a decent supply of money and players when needed.

i mean if you dont know about estevao and paez you are living under rock, chelsea strategy is to develop players along with team, look at madueke he was nowhere at chelsea level when he joined but now he has started to fulfill his potential, similarly jackson is improving at phenomenal rate and levi he is home grown but lasr season he was above average this season he is going to great so thats the strategy summarrised and for players like mudryk or morreira who does not develop will be sold

It's bold I must say but senseless cause it will cost the club anyway it end up smh

A 2 year transfer ban means we won't be able to sell or buy - surely? Which means that unless we offload about 15 -20 players in January, we will be left with a bloated squad for 3+ years in which most players' values will decrease considerably because of lack of visibility. Unless the ban means we can put them out on loan? Or if we're anticipating 50% of them getting injured as per the last three seasons?

Chelsea still needs 4-5 experience players to keep the young players in form and develop a football experience.

Inner and outer thoughts as an established CFC supporter: I think the plan is to hoard talent for as long as possible with the promise of development (to sell at a higher price) and/or placement in the first team. A lot of these deals have gone bad or are questionable but it’s a game of numbers for people with that type of money. The young talent they are buying for a lot may be to sell them for more later (maybe to help with expenses) and/or keep them away from the likes of RM, BFC, MUTD, City, ARSNL, etc (in my opinion this makes no sense to do… talent is everywhere this day and age and there is always “the next” Maybe they are hoarding and hoping one of the players becomes a generational talent). With plans to redevelop The Bridge and already impending sanctions (kind of their own doing), hoarding assets now seems smart as long as they don’t sell for cheap like they’ve already shown this summer window. There is also need for a coach that will be able to work in the chaos. The previous coaches are well decorated but this is not the environment those type of coaches/managers thrive in.
