I wish I could've seen Chelsea in it's glory days, in the 2010s... I only recently became a football fan in 2022, after the World Cup hooked me into the sport. So I became a Chelsea fan during the awful season we had in 22/23. I could've chosen a club with current success, like City, Barcelona, Madrid, Bayern, etc., but something attracted me to Chelsea and despite these tough times I still love the club.

It was a lot of fun. The 8 year quest to win that first Champions League (between 2004 to 2012) was the greatest football story I've ever seen & can guarantee I ever will see. So many near misses - "ghost" goals, penalty slips, refs screwing us - the culture clash rivalries with Liverpool & Barcelona, having a consistent spine throughout that entire run. It was so narratively rich in so many ways. Becoming a Chelsea fan was the best decision I've ever made in my life. This club has given me so many positive memories & has NEVER failed to entertain me. Even in 2003 itself, going from a club that was one game away from facing legitimate extinction (or at least radical change), to the richest club in the world being linked with a different global superstar every day in the space of one summer is something no other club's fans can claim to have experienced. Was an unbelievable rush living through that as a teenager. Regardless of what happens to us in the future, I couldn't be more grateful to this club for the impact it's had on my life.

Another important inclusion would have been Glenn Hoddle’s managerial reign after forcing to sell our starlets and home grown players off to pay for the stadium, it was Glen in the early 90’s who implemented a play style and identity for the club, in turn with that and his reputation the ability to bring in players like Zola and Vialli that set Chelsea in their way. He layewas d the Morden groundwork of the culture and ambition of the club built on in the latter years

@@YourFootballZone I remember back when Chelsea was brought by Blue Co, Todd wanted Ronaldo, and then later wanted Mbappe, but it didn't happen. Todd obviously wanted superstars in the club, but he had little say about it because he only owned about 10% of the club. Clearlake owned the whole lot, so they were in control, which led to buying youngsters and getting in this situation

@@KJR47 Fair enough but Todd is the co-controlling owner and Chairman. Takes a while when you have to rebuild but not sure their strategy of splashing excess money on many players was a good idea. Rather than just buying up to 3 to strengthen the squad at that time and developing from there but time will tell!

Also, Todd is Co owner of a baseball club, and I've looked at their history, and they have LOTS, and I mean LOTS of titles, which again turns my blame to Clearlake and not Todd. I think Todd should work with someone who knows football and maybe even supports the club themselves, then I think we'll be way better than were we are now

Good Vid Altho you made some mistakes, Gus was gunna sell the ground but his friend said to him, "why don't you make your own football club" and thats How Chelsea FC was Born. Nando's Goals And Assits in the 2012 Champions Legue Matchs And 2013 Eroupe Legue Matchs more then made up for the £50 mill we paid for him. Rafa was NOT Sacked he was a temp and his contract ended at the end of the season.

@@YourFootballZoneI dislike how they’ve gone about selling academy players and how quick they’re changing the structure as it’s caused a lot of problems, mainly to the fan base. However, from what I understand, the hope is that it’s short term pain and long term gain (regarding underachieving) and that we will have a structure similar Dortmund signing young talent and selling for good profit. I think they’ve made some very smart signings (and questionable ones I.e. Aubameyang/Sterling),but ultimately they have had to make profits out of the academy. Sounds ‘dirty’ and ‘cold’, but ultimately that’s how successful clubs stay successful is by rationale rather than emotions. The controversy and inconsistency of performances is exhausting (no really) but, ultimately, I think we’re going in the right direction.
