BLESS ROMATIQUE TP FOR HIS VIDEOS. I downloaded everything from his channel last year or so (except the touhou 7, 8 and 9 because those were just a prototype demo more than anything) and I LOVE a lot of the tracks. ALL of seihou's themes are so much better in this (mechanical circus 😍😍), some touhou 6 songs kick ass in this old version (the title screen and stage 5 theme personally) some songs have even more instruments (like in velvet maiden battle) and his arranges from his strange works collection are absolutely amazing. I love how he picked a few of his fav tracks and remade them, sometimes in completely new way! Alice in wonderland is outstanding, peaceful romancer is unrecognizable, and just SO MANY MASTERPIECES. HHHHH

I found that the most dominant trait about the original WAV is that there are a lot more drums, whether it is in Touhou 6,7,8 or even 9. What's funny though is that ZUN remastered some of his own tracks, but they don't sound like the ones that Romantique extracted, I guess more is better though. c:

Touhou MIDI I really like to mess with. I could use an SC-88pro sountfont in my software synthesizer and play the MIDI like it's supposed to sound like or I can use different soundfonts and still achieve results that sound really good.

It's true that MIDIs are fascinating, but the problem is that since ZUN stopped making them after Touhou 9's demo, not a lot of people care about them anymore. Which is a true shame, since they have a lot of charm.

And it seems like with alot of games, ZUN upgrades his sound library. Adding Edirol Super Quartet in 7, Virtual Guitarist in 8, Virtual Guitarist 2 in 10, Trillian and Groove Agent in 13, Retrologue, Electri6ity and EZDrummer in 14 and Groove Agent 4 in 15.

I'm unsure if the SD-90 really was used in the transitional era - wasn't it the SD-20 that ZUN used?

Well, it's not during the transition but it's the one that has been used to remake the WAV files. I think he also used it until...well, now... I believe.

Am I a sinner because I mostly prefer the ingame versions of seihou songs

My favourite version of any of reimu's themes is actually the ingame version of dychromatic lotus butterfly~ancients. Yes, even more than the higher quality version he made and posted on his website. It's so weird but it has something special about it.
