One piece is the name of the ancient kingdom. Gol D Roger last word is a wordplay but with name of the place he left it at and the biggest F. u. to the gorosei ever. Clover was killed before he said the name because of this (evryone would connect the dots immediatly , roger was executed 24 years ago , ohara is 22.). One piece has always been used like a Name , being the name of the manga , but even if japonese , One piece is written in english (check any cover), because its a name and not only the one of the manga. Till proven wrong. x)

I think people are forgetting about Stussy. She has the potential to become a new Straw Hat crew member. Hear me out: after Stella died, Stussy said she had no purpose in life anymore, yet she didn't commit suicide or put herself in fatal danger. This indicates that, deep down, she still has the will to live. If she had truly given up, she wouldn't have asked Kaku to let her back on the team. However, even if Kaku wanted her back, we all know Lucci would immediately deal with her. Additionally, the World Government will hunt her down since she betrayed them. Given that she still has a will to live and will likely be pursued by the government, the question remains: how can she escape the impending Buster Call, the Gorosei, and Lucci? She has three options: 1. Leave the island using government ships 2. Sail on with the giants 3. Leave with the Straw Hats Out of these three options, only one makes sense: traveling with the Straw Hats. Since Luffy is now a Yonko, the government is cautious about launching direct attacks on him, knowing the consequences could be massive. This is why they instructed CP0 not to touch Luffy. Therefore, joining the Straw Hats would be the best way for Stussy to stay alive and survive under the current circumstances. I can envision her appearing at some point after they've set sail and no Marines are in sight, similar to how Robin joined the crew post-Alabasta. Robin also felt she had no purpose in life and believed she might find it by joining the Straw Hats.

Vegapunk is/was an amazing character. After the manga is concluded, I suspect you're going to busy with character retrospective videos. In this chapter York is giving me Grishenko from "GoldenEye" movie vibes. At the end of Egghead, Saturn could turn to York and plainly state that there only needs to be one Vegapunk in the world. As a Strawhat member, Lilith would metaphorically clash with Franky's purpose of being on the crew. I can see Bonney staying on the Sunny as a "cabin girl" or similar, but Lilith would be a better fit with the Revolutionary Army as a modern Genny, and Dragon has asked Vegapunk to join them before.

We pour one out for Atlas' inevitable sacrifice, an act of compassion in violence to save Lilith as well. Also pour one for Emeth because with no weapons to use it's not gonna last much longer, interesting that like Zunesha though it communicates via the Voice of All Things, were all of Joy Boy's crew like that? Now that Luffy knows the name will he ask about it, Robin knows that name after all. I wonder if Lilith4Nakama will happen, she is certainly the most pirate of the Vegapunks, her calculations did seem more obstructive to the crew though when they wanted to set off. I see it as more likely than Bonney, but I also don't think Lilith would stick around on the ship, she likes inventing too much and we already have Franky and Usopp for that, don't want to diminish crewmembers when you add after all. I feel like Grand Fleet is more likely, rebuilding the lab on Elbaf maybe. Clover being a D was not something I expected though, but it makes so much sense, plus the Irish name because clovers XD Claíomh means Sword in Irish btw. It's also tragic though, because he wanted to investigate the D to understand why his brother was killed for having a name, and that he would uncover history to be unignorable, and he did uncover history to be unignorable, and died uttering a name. It's also interesting that they showed Tequila Wolf again, what is its secrets? What is Oda hiding from us? Saturn is now on the longboat too, V. Nusjuro is still on the labophase so he's probably out of range to support, Atlas' explosion getting the Sunny to safety. So I like how cyclic we are with the Gorosei; Saturn was the first opponent and now he's the last, just who is gonna knock him away? Could be Sanji, he is due a moment not undercut by failure, could be Kuma since his powers are perfect for knockback, I am leaning to Kuma still, Saturn took everything from him, he stood his ground against Saturn as a child unable to make a difference but this time he can. but the ending caught me by surprise because initially I glossed over that he said Gol D. Roger, we're so used to it but the world is not, only select few knew that his name was changed, and now everyone knows that the D is important - they just lost the explanation as to why.

The part about the voice of the victor vs the vanquished, reminded me a lot of the conflict between the Gauls and the Romans, when Brennus throws his sword on the scale and says "vae victis" (woe to the vanquished)! Slightly different context, but the usage of vanquished in this way, and tipping the scale in favor of the victor reminded me of this.

He isn't joyboy he is Luffy. The two share ties to sun god Nika but we wouldn't consider a gum gum fruit user the reincarnation of Luffy just because they ate the gum gum fruit. I believe Luffy and Joy boy both share the same will and dream of sun god Nika and so after Nika it was Joy boy who was the continuation of Nikas dream and now Luffy is the continuation of Joy boys dream because dreams never die in one piece. Luffy is his own man and he only wanted to be the pirate king because it's the freeist person on the sea and gear 5 Luffy is Luffy at his most free yet Luffy in gear 5 mode looks exactly like sun god Nika and we assume joyboy and remember Luffy has a dream to complete after he becomes king of the pirates that made the straw hat crew smile and laugh at how ridiculous it is. That could be the same dream that links Luffy, Joy boy and sun god Nika

I also think Joyboy flooded the world on purpose to protect the ancient kingdom from Imu and the Gorosei and imbued his weapon with Haki then stabbed it into the seabed to weaken DF users with his eternal COC

I dont think the robot being on has anything to do w the message streaming. idk where you got that. Luffy has gone on and off G5 and the message has stayed on. It only got interrupted because the snail inside the armor got shaken up. The robot is just an impenetrable hiding place in a trash heap. The fact that joyboy2 happened to stumble on the island is just Fate.

You're wrong about one thing: Blackbeard is not having the potential to be Joyboy. When Imu was looking at wanted posters, he/she looked at Luffy, Blackbeard, Shirahoshi, and Vivi. We know that 3 of those are reincarnations of people from 800 years ago (Joyboy, Poseidon, and LiLi). That means more than likely Blackbeard is the reincarnation of someone from 800 years ago, and probably the person that betrayed Joyboy & the D clan. My guess is inherited will goes like this: Joyboy --> --> --> Roger --> Luffy, and then ????? --> --> --> Xebec --> Blackbeard. Eventually we will learn who Blackbeard inherited his will from 800 years ago.

That was cool to see that Denjiro is the Daimyo of Kibi. I really resonated with the History and Emotions associated with Clover. Another D. Clan Member. There might've been 20 vs. 20 @ this point. It was cool to see Zeff and them. Idk if that was Tequila Wolf, but the Slavery scene hit. I really felt Robin crying. Shout out to Atlas for going out like a Real one. I got slight Astro Boy Vibes. Even Sanji and Franky were stoked to see the Robot. Someone needs to start explaining some of this History to Luffy. I know he doesn't care about much of it, but this actually relates to him. Vegapunk is as sus as I knew from early in the Arc. Lilith is gonna accompany the Straw Hats. Shout out to the Straw Hats for just moving like a well oiled machine as a Yonko Crew should. Nami gives commands on the ship. Zoro acts as the Vice Captain as Rayleigh would. Jinbei and Brook were on point. The Emotions from Usopp and Chopper hit. Oda is putting emphasis on the Iron Giant. Vegapunk is only speculating. I figured that he didn't know much.

I read Vegapunk's warning to Clover differently. What you perceived as arrogance was (for me) clearly an attempt to protect his friend and save him from the consequences his planned actions would surely have. I perceived Vegapunk as a liar there who absolutely will do what he advised others not to do. Maybe arrogance comes into play here because he seemed to think he can do it without the WG noticing.

I love the idea of connecting to the internet via the voice of all things lol. And the ancient kingdom couldve had a lot more people who were bioengineered to connect to these devices. Since Vegapunk had the idea to connect everyone to punk records it would probably involve using some type of device to connect to it like a den den mushi until they actually could probably bioengineer people. Now that I think of it maybe the Gorosei are bioengineered since they can communicate telepathically and maybe they can hear the voice of all things.

After this chapter I decided to rewatch One piece from the start and in Episode 8 during the buggy and shanks flashback Buggy finds a treasure map and says maps said the treasure was at the bottom of the ocean. That foreshadowing is crazy and made me think was that a map to one piece?

Maybe when he said "i wish i was alive in your time" he means something else. Everyone I've seen talk about this asks the question, "Why does he wish to be in the past so much?" However, i think he meant the future. He knows."joyboy" should return, and they even have a time frame. At the time, Roger knew he was going to die soon. So you can make the argument that he was wishing he could live long enough to see the return of joy boy. For it to be his time again.

Something incorrect was said. The iron giant is not powering the den den mushi snail to transmit the information. It is just a hiding place strong enough to bear a lot of damage. nika or joyboy was not needed here to power the iron giant to power the den den mushi to transmit the information. vegapunk knew his life was in danger but he didnt know luffy was coming. Life was in danger therefore den den mushi was hidden in the iron giant. it gets activated after vegapunk's death. luffy being there simply woke the giant and made it walk so that the giant was not in its usual storage space. den den mushi would have activated whether luffy/nika/joyboy was there or not.

Constructing such a device would be unimaginable when he has never even met an actual joyboy. Also, vegapunk was surprised to know that luffy had come to the island. Yet he knew his death was certain, so why/how would he have planned it this way? The iron giant is getting knocked around and that is disrupting the transmission.

Regardless of the "why", the actual event in the story is that the den den mushi cut off at the same moment the robot powered down, then turned back on immediately after Luffy went G5. And we already know Nika's heartbeat was what turned the robot on. It's a little confusing because the gorosei attacked the robot, but they did not destroy the den den mushi or do anything to cut the signal. Most likely the signal cut because the robot ran out of power, because Luffy had been out of G5 for awhile. From here the "why did Vegapunk do this" is a mystery, but you can speculate. Maybe Vegapunk read enough of the poneglyphs that he only wanted to reveal the message at a certain time. And a number of other possibilities if you want to think about it.

My take of what clover said is like what my history teacher told me. The past speaks to you through the stories that are passed on. Not that he had the voice of all things but that when he research the past, they speak to us. What vegapunk says is also what he would say, which I believe is a famous quote. I'll have to look it up. the den den mushi transmitting the message definitely doesn't activate thanks to the robot activating. for all Vegapunk knew, the message was gonna be playing with the robot hidden in the trash cause nobody even knew it existed and if they found it, they would have a hard time destroying it. now York knows that they need to destroy the robot to be able to then destroy the den den mushi, but just having the robot power down above water won't be enough cause the message transmits independently of the robots energy

The reason this sacrificial scene hits, is because nobody has in the back of their mind that they're probably still alive. Wano is a good example. Izo and Ashura didn't die until the scene with their graves, and I think Oda knew that. That means Ashura's death scene (also an explosion) didn't hit at all.

Im not sure by this but somehow - Emeth reminds be of Franky.. The reaction when Luffy isn't acknowledging that he is Joyboy. The design is build to create the "super" pose and it feels like Emeth was about to unleash a "Weapon''s left" but failed because of 900 years is not a short amount of time. Because of this, I remember a small conversation about emeth attacking the world nobles in marijoise 200 years ago which is something Franky would actually do so if he is agitated as seen during dressrose arc when he wanted to attach the Smile Factory alone. I don't have much but I think Emeth is merely conserving its energy for the past 900 years and not being powered by Gear 5 at all.

The only part I would argue is, that Blackbeard may not be able to nullify DF powers if the user's haki is string enough. I believe that is why we have Luffy on a Haki education arc and also why Shanks has no DF users on his crew. Roger knew of the DF that nullifies others and made sure that haki was the key power of their crew. Luffy will be able to out haki BB in the final fight. My fall back was Nika having immunity but, I feel that haki is the more logical route.

Regarding that line about hearing the voices. The main point was to make a shoutout to Vegapunk's moral sense/heart. Clover is basically telling him it's Vegapunk's moral or ethical duty to not turn his back to the voices of the past victims. Maybe Clover thinks this is a duty for a man of science or a duty of any man in position to actually be able to do something about it, or maybe it's even a moral obligation of passing the baton "if I fail, you do it in my stead!", that part is left up to interpretation. It's just such a Japanese cultural thing. It's like a samurai shouting to a lone ronin "it's your duty to avenge your lord and then to spill your own guts to save your face!". And at the end of his broadcast Vegapunk says the exact same words Clover directed to him back then. I think he is trying to pass on the torch to anyone who is listening and who will end up being another unfortunate soul to continue the research of void century, because Vegapunk's research was far from done yet. Ofc that's only my interpretation of that scene. It just doesn't have to mean it's about voice of all things, but it can be deliberate use of wrod "voices" there ofc.

I think you're on the nose about bioengineered humans etc in the One Piece world. I've thought this too for a while: the possible crime of the Ancient Kingdom, of Joyboy even perhaps, being they tried playing God, making all manner of the impossible possible. Creating the Devil Fruits, altering human lineage to evolve into minks, fishmen, etc. It's something the world at large would consider taboo and want to put an end to, as well as parallel Vegapunk to the Kingdom in that he aligns with neither good or evil, but rather to science and advancing it.

So Fingarland, Rayleigh even Garp have been dormant as well since they will be the first line to get knocked of by a rejuvenate Xebec to showcase his monstrous strength.
