Vegapunk honestly just has great ideas without thinking about the consequences. York and Atlas honestly feel more like an idea out of necessity. Atlas as a means to defend egghead and York to keep working without sleeping. They were just Stellar's solution and most importantly tools to further his ambitions. All of his inventions are like this, a solution to a problem without any care for additional uses or dangers.

The biggest reveal this chapter is actually that Stella must have a separate "brain" for him to function even when disconnected from Punk Records, it is also why to wipe his memories he put his body into the machine, meaning his memories are within the Stella body itself and not in his original brain, bringing us the final and biggest twist of the arc: Vegapunk lives, and we have never met him, because he is the Punk Records itself. If Stella has a separate "brain" just like every other satellite and thus able to exist autonomously from the Punk Records, it would mean that they are separate beings from Punk Records, with each of them being copies of the real Vegapunk, Stella being the direct copy, the satellites being partial copies each of an aspect of him. That revelation would give a whole new meaning to Saka's question about what "death" really means for "beings" such as themselves. That question alone gives the very possibility that none of the Punks knew about this fact, the real Vegapunk has been locked in the upper hemisphere storage for years hidden from even his copies' eyes, for even them believe that Stella is the original. If it was unintentional due to the process of the separation, I can't even image Punk Records' despair due to being conscious yet isolated from the outside world. If it was all by design then Vegapunk is a much more devious man than we ever know. Either way, what would he do now that the WG is for sure to recover him from the storage, any options will massively affect the world at large.

2:25 The fact that Stella suspects Lilith as being the prime suspect give the idea that even the world's smartest man has trouble isolating the aspects of a human soul, he might have thought that isolating his aspect would allow him to utilize them while minimizing the risks, such as isolating "evil" would make her predictable (as he only need to worry about her rather than all of the satelites) and isolating "greed" from "evil" would make keep her desires in check. The end result shows that "greed" can generate her own "evil" and "evil" can generate her own "greed" (remember how Lilith wanted to use her mechanized sea beasts to rob Pirates?), "Wrath" would sacrifice herself and become a hero in the end, it is almost as if either Vegapunk is unable to separate and isolate the human soul so precisely, or that each isolated aspect has regenerated parts their are missing, each aspect is slowly becoming a brand new individual completely indenpendent from the original. The truth is the human soul is beyond the understanding of the world's greatest mind.

Something worth mentioning is the dome failure in ch1071 It was very convenient for CP0 and let to a few theories about it being the work of a ''7th'' Vegapunk aka Punk Records But it might actually be wrong and correct at the same time Vegapunk Stella died twice, first when he erased his memories and second when he actually dies triggering the message. Are we the same people that we were two weeks ago when we learned some things inbetween? Probably not but who knows Punk records being a collective of knowledge and memories, is it its own being? What is death exactly? One thing is sure the ''dead'' Version of Vegapunk told himself '' believe in what i'm saying, because i'm you and Die '' In some way the new Vegapunk that we meet at the beginning of the arc might have subconsciously affected Punk Records to allow himself to die The Seraphims and Cp0 entering the dome is only helping them achieve their goal as the situation is then less safe for the Satellites and Stella(ignoring that situation can also allow the VP to take back the Seraphims, as the only two who knew were eliminated by York's plan) Vegapunk had to trick himself in order to trick York and slowly came to the realization that he in fact needs to die. Which now explains Sanji's awkward smile to Bonney in 1105(just like his fake smile in Zou). First with Pedro now with Vegapunk he's seen people die for something, him, one of the most self sacrificial prior to Wci, he didn't quite like that he Ultimately couldn't go against a man's wish to die.

They way I took his "final plan" was: He wanted the Message/Truth to come to light But if he was still alive, it would garantee his Death/persecution So he set the Death Trigger, to Ensure it would always be revealed (even if he wasnt able too otherwise) His new self deduced there was a Back-up (he confirmed it by checking into emeth) And eventually trusted in his past self, that his "Death" would not be the End of the passage of Knowledge But when he learned the WG was willing to Destroy all, He knew he had to ensure the Trigger could be hit prematurely, before the backup plan was accidentally destroyed/interrupted durring the Bustercall His Memory Erasure was to increase the chance that the back-up plan could not be "discovered" & stopped prematurely (by others)

I totally agree with you about Vegapunk being fooled by bias. Just looking at the Alters makes it obvious, that Atlas and York are just designed so Vegapunk doesn‘t have to focus on things he doesn‘t enjoy doing. This is totally different compared to the alters before them. Atlas is pretty much just there to relive stress, anger and keep the body fit with workouts, while York is just meant to handle eating and sleeping. Vegapunk likely found some way to involve Atlas into some research, but more or less just because he wanted to use Atlas benefits anyway and thought he might as well find some things to make her contribute something to research while also performing her intended role. And as Vegapunk specifically wanted to design clones to handle tasks he himself doesn’t enjoy, it likely was a pretty big challenge to design alters of himself, that would actually want to handle tasks. It‘s contrary to his own personality. Therefore Vegapunk just removed so much of his own personality that the endproducts are totally stretching the boundaries of a good invention. But as Vegapunk is still selfish and wants to benefit from their uses he makes it make sense for himself and just doesn’t think about the potential consequences

Lilith and York being the last 2 standing are very poetic to vegapunks overall story, as his immortal brain represents both of them, the greed and desire representing he wishes to live, even backstabbing and working with evil people, just because he knows it reaps the most rewards. I wonder if York was never intended to be made. Vegapunk at one point said he wished he had 5 more of him, but we know he made 6. I think the first 5 were intended, but York was created as an afterthought to handle all the bodily functions of the others. When talking to the straw hats about his dream of unlimited energy supply and sharing his brain with the world, Jimbe questioned him about the use of his knowledge for evil, his reply made some sense, but it is indeed biased. But still, the man is a genius, this chapter was so cool and, I thank Oda for letting us know how is it that VegaPunk made so many preparations and recorded the message, knew about his coming demise, yet seemed surprise with some of the events that came to be. That panel before they erased their memories, the dialogue was neat. 🔥 “One last thing”, this that VP said in his own letter to himself, is it about him wanting the straw hats to find the One Piece? Brilliant review if Vegapunk. He basically fought against himself. You see this most evidently with Shaka always stopping Lilith. Safe Vegas Shaka - moral Py - Planning Stella - overseer/project manager Risky Vegas Lilith- evil Edison - Ideas Atlas - violence The safe side of Vega punk put the death and video plan into action. The risky side of Vegapunk put Lilith in control as the true Vegapunk alive. Edison basically came up with the risky idea of having Lilith be the Vegapunk to survive. Atlas had the violence to fight to have Lilith saved to represent the true Vegapunk. York betraying Vegapunk (his own greed to have money to work with yhe world government to do his stuff) caused Vegapunk yo value his more risky evil side more than just running away with a video and dying. I'm excited to see what Lilith does as the main Vegapunk who is more free in the future.

In the Kuma flashback it stood out to me how Vegapunk, before creating the alters, would make more mischievous faces. I feel like back then he still had more evil and greed in him. Maybe he made Lilith and York and Atlas to remove those aspects from himself. He might have even made Shaka for the same reason. Maybe he felt he needed to rid himself of good and evil to become more objective. The only problem with this theory are Pythagoras and Edison. I don't think Vegapunk actually removed his wisdom or thinking ability to make them. Are these two exceptions, since they're robots?

One thing to keep in mind about Vegapunk's broadcast is that he couldn't anticipate Emeth's reanimation. If Luffy wasn't there in Nika firm, the liklihood that the broadcast would have been disrupted at all is significantly low. Still, His hubris was his downfall.

My thoughts & opinions of the chapter: 1. While York's fate remains unknown at the moment, I do wonder if she'll figure out how her father was able to do all of that setup without letting her know. If so, then this could make the Elders view her as a liability instead of an asset worth keeping, while also making the Mother Flame a little less reliable than they thought. 2. When Vegapunk realized how wrong he was about using his Greed to create York, as well as what he left behind, I wonder if Lilith will become aware of it by some means and vow to never make the same mistakes her father made!

Welcome Back JB, i think the point of the shaka and dragon call scene was to serve as both a forshadow and post-shadow goodbye call to dragon after he saw the note that past stella wrote and shaka may have been the side of vp that agrees with dragon's path of justice Vegapunk is a great but flawed character and may be a cautionary tale that teaches that too much progress too fast without weighing the risks vs reward will lead to harmful consequences, mans was a neophile that didnt experience the mistakes of his actions to learn of harm avoidance till it was too late

7:15 Disagree, Vegapunk has been a renegade his entire life, from his work in MADS to the work he does behind the back of the WG, the reason he didn't work for Dragon instead is because he doesn't have the resource to support Vegapunk's work, not some idea of "Lawful" vs "Evil". The reason he didn't run from the WG once Saturn is here is not because he didn't want to, but because at that point in time he already realized he can't run sucessfully, remember the WG has the Aniciet Weapon that could wipe Egghead off the map, and some of them in fact would have destroyed Egghead entirely if not for the value it still had in its location, as soon as Saturn got on the island Vegapunk Stella realize he needs to die to activate the kill switch (he had to put faith in his past self who left him the paper that tells him the die for the plan) and draw the WG's attention away from his surviving satelites so that they may yet survive this incident. If leaving the WG left him with no desire to live then why would he even try to escape with the Strawhats at first? That would make no sense.

I just started and Imma speculate wat JB will say...Lilith was the betrayer and manipulated York to do the steps...somehow that is why she "accidentally" survived knowing Atlas would sacrifise herself. And Vegapunk ultimately played 7D chess with himself and lost to himself
