i agree 10000% with everything you said. my adhd was never an academic problem BUT it seriously disregultes my emotions, so whenever i went to a psych my biggest complaint was moodiness, which time and time again got me incorrectly diagnosed as bipolar. i FINALLY found a Dr who got me tested and correctly diagnosed me as ADHD. but i had to figure it out myself that i have adhd.

I honestly thought I had bipolar before being diagnosed with ADHD as there is hardly any information online to explain the difficulties that come with ADHD and emotions! I’m so glad you got the correct diagnosis 🩷

Hi Molly thank you so much for talking about this, I totally agree with you, that emotional dysregulation should definitely be part of the ADHD DSM5 diagnosis process because I have been told in the past that I have BPD and then Bipolar disorder but I know personally that it wasn’t either of those even tho the mood stabiliser medication is really helpful, I know now that it is ADHD that causes it and everything that you have mentioned in this video, I have experienced myself. Thank you so much for speaking about this because I agree, it isn’t spoken about enough and you can’t find anything much that relates to ADHD and emotional regulation in search engines. 💞🥰🥰

You're very on point. Simply words or comments make me over-offended or I can be reactive. Words people say linger for ages as you say. Its very frustrating to be this was as a man because it makes me weaker sometimes to react this way. I very much feel your frustration in this regard. Often depressed also.

What really annoys me is when I'm bored, and want to do something. But can't make up my mind on what I want to do, and I jump to different things and ideas and then spent so much time doing this and I get no where and I waste the whole day.

Yes! To all of this 🤗🤗💙💙 Emotional residue. I think of it in terms of paint (if I'm on the right page Molly?). When the thing that inspired your emotions happened, they were a solid acrylic paint. When it's "over and done with", your emotions are like a watercolour paint. More transparent, almost not there, but you can still feel an "emotion light" version just kinda clinging on........ Even though your mind is maybe like, yeah that's all done now. Maybe it's a little bit like switching tasks, but the emotional version? Emotion switching?

I relate! I know I'm emotionally dysregulated when I get snappy and tend to get a very firm voice.

When you guys got tested for Adhd, what level or number did you come under? 1? 2? 3 ? Because when I got tested, for Adhd , the Adhd Lady told me that I have level three and it’s really rare to see a female have that as they may see it in boys
@MollysADHDMayhemАй бұрын
Ermm, I was diagnosed with Combined adhd x

I wonder if an instability in my temper that used to be an issue for me could be considered an element of emotional dysregulation, definitely have adhd and i highly suspect i am autistic even though i never feel anxious, do not know what it feels lie personally even though i am aware of the definition of it.
