Having your own "music lounge" to listen to your music should be the end goal for each producer who creates music Imagine having a spot people can go to, and listen to your music, while having some drinks or herb. Everyone doesn't want to dance just to hear music like nightclubs are made for. You can have an album release monthly at the spot, and people can hear the music on the best sound system like it was in NYC nightclubs in the 1970's You just gave me a beautiful idea. In Japan they have "music lounges" where people go to hear the best sound systems cause most never really hear music like it should be heard

Listen to this guy. His statements apply to more than just music. You can not be aware of something until you are in a position to see it for yourself. Alternatively, you need a knowledgeable mentor who is a talented leader and teacher. Most of the people you are talking about do not have either of the above advantages. For these reasons, I think most have no choice but to just jump in and see what will happen. You can not know about a thing until you have a chance to find out about it. Most of do not wake one morning and realize out of thin air what is ahead of us and how to prepare for it. When ever you are dealing with your money, first get a good lawyer. I can't tell you how to find a good and honest one and one whose services you can afford. Listen to this guy.

Would you please explain how a lyricist makes money of songs that he or she has written. He or she writes the lyrics. A composer creates the music. Then, the work is presented to a singer. Once the song is released, does ASCAP collect my lyricist fees only?

It’s a sad time to be a musician who just wants to make great music. Because if you don’t have the backing you must make great music but also many other great products based off that music to win. It’s like at this point my stupid as loving music being the reason why I’m in it, is just dumb. And all the people in the “game” just love the fight and the hustle so much apparently but what if you just want to make music? What if you’re an artist who makes art because you love making art? Then the message is your stupid and should not participate in the music “game” cus it will break you and destroy your love for this. Cue the folx telling me all the most discouraging comments ever 😅
@MusicMoneyMakeover Жыл бұрын
Nah if you make music for the sake of it bit the people love it you're still doing a great service for the industry. Sometimes you can make serious money at it but in most cases you wont.

I'm wondering why these labels are still allowed to pedal these horrible contracts. Why hasn't there been a demand to eradicate the "standard" contract designed to ROB or take advantage of the artist??
@MusicMoneyMakeover Жыл бұрын
Because you individually have the power to negotiate and to creat your own leverage to get a better deal. This isn't the only industry that is pimpin. Pimping is a way of life.

Go back to my time. Play or debuted music on the radio or XM radio ONLY. No online play ever and if played online it becomes cryptic and you are sued. It has a code where it can't be copied and heard clearly. Sue anyone that takes the music outside of Radio play. Go back to the 1970's way things were done. People go back to buying and making a living. Artists should stop making music until we do all that I just said. STRIKE against online exposure. New artists can use ONLINE to come up and be heard but to release their finished song can be announced but not heard but on RADIO.

Do record labels care if unsigned artists have all this information since they own everything? Are unsigned artists even a threat to the majors?
@MusicMoneyMakeover2 жыл бұрын
No they don't because they know that eventually you'll find your way to them.

Major record labels are international conglomerates. They are like McDonald's in that they have 1000s of people working for them all over the world. Everybody who can do a world tour on every continent, is signed to a major, in some or other way.

@@beautifulcaramelman fasho appreciate it. N yeah it’s a few of them in different markets going up independently. The day has changed we can now hire 1000 to work for us independents instead of the label. So their loans and transferrals of our rights are not needed anymore. Bad bunny gets 90% n the distributor gets 10% which is how it should be 💯
