Sexual lust is probably the most difficult one to contend with. Sometimes the battle is hourly. Sometimes it’s minute by minute.

@@aacc2216 Yeah. Ik how it feels. It's really hard to fight over those waves of thougths and then the lust itself. Sometimes it seems to be a 'entity' engulfing your senses. It 'sucks' guys. But don't worry. Stay strong in Jesus and pray for the Father to give strength to hold on tight when those feelings, thougths or whatever the darn it is strikes again. Stay strong. Remember brother lusting isn’t necessarily the problem, it’s lusting after other women. If you have a wife you are free to lust all you want at her and vice versa. Just like sex isn’t wrong as long as you do it in a committed relationship under God (aka marriage). Life is all about balance and God is the only one that can give us true peace to find it. Peace be with you, God bless!

I was just thinking the same thing. Actually three things, one similar to yours. First off, I woke up today feeling a bit lazy, started procrastinating, taking naps here and there, skipping some chores around the house, errands, things like that. I go to my YT watch later list, lo and behold i have an unfinished video there about the seven deadly sins. Had started it about a week ago and had left off on, you guessed it, Sloth. Lol so i get my ass up hop in that shower get motivated and start moving. Thank you Jesus. But it doesnt end there. So throughout the day i started having little spats here and there with , lets say, a particular family member. One who doesnt live here but just kinda comes and goes as he/she pleases. So the spats turn into arguments and then the arguments, half the time start getting physical. So i took a pause, got out the phone and back to my favorites list. Lo and behold, next video on the list, a video about the book of proverbs. Firs thing that pops up on the screen… the word “FOOL” then a recerence to 18.2. Wow. So i remove myself from that situation and walk away with the biggest smile on my face. Said person doesn’t like that one bit but i dont stay to see what he/she had to say next. Next. I get a visit from baby mama. And now she proceeds to start a fight with me about this and that about things that happened two weeks ago thats that are entirely irrelevant to the curreny moment. Now I’ve known this for a long time but i chose to participate all the time, that is until now. U see, BM and i aren’t married, never have been. So our past relationship consisted of fighting followed by sex. Well i get to my phone which is playing my que in order and sure enough this is the video playing in the background. I know about coincidence im not naive but this is on a whole nother level. How can it be that every one of my questions or needs or knowledge that i needed or lack thereof i was given in answer to in this form. God is great. Thank you Jesus…. Sorry to have hijacked your post OP. Excuse me for the paragraphs.

The truth isn't supposed to tickle your ears. If you're being convicted in any way by hearing this.. good. That's the law God put on your heart. Obedience is very important we should never rest in Grace. I am at war almost everyday with lust as is anyone in the public. Seek refuge in God's word and promises. Put the flesh to death. Not once a day, several time an hour at times! God bless. ✝️🛐🙏❤️✌️

Every single sin is lying, and agreeing with lying and believing lying. It is the lie that sin is more valuable and better than the glory of God. It isn't! It will never be! So Piper gets it brilliantly right by saying fighting lust is a fight of faith because you have to believe the Glory of God is so much more beautiful, satisfying and awesome than anything sin or lust can offer you. If you don't believe it you will never sever the root and it will always be a battle of self, not of faith.May God help us understand this.

So if we fail in our work of obedience we fail in our faith towards salvation thus we do not have salvation? I don't think so! Then it is works and Christ which gets us in heaven and not the imputed blood of Christ.

What makes sexual sin so addicting is it's based on FOMO (Fear of missing out). "You'll regret it if you pass up this pleasure". But ultimately it's a lie that can waste years of your life and you won't ever really feel fulfilled from it. It's a completely fake happiness that makes you believe God can't give you any better. It's not worth it in the slightest. Not worth the anxiety, the shame, the timidity, moments with God you miss out on, the depression, the paranoia, how far behind in life you fall. This garbage is not worth it.

You’re correct. That is exactly what my husband’s sexual sin has done to our marriage. A life with a man who has obviously never committed, given his sin, to me, our family, his children, God, or anything. Just an entire life of lies.

@@sarahalderman3126 This fear of missing out has the potential to grab a hold of you and keep on telling its lies everyday so that you commit the sin and start the digging of the hole of shame. Its a great lie that I bought into when I was in my teenage years. 20 years later it feels like it still has a hold on to me every waking moment. I don't know what your husband might have put you through but I'm sorry about what he may have done to you. Please understand that this sin can take a hold onto anybody and is hard to break free, especially with how the current culture says everything is practically a free for all. Nowadays, the family unit is getting more broken and men are being shamed for just being men. It's absolutely stressful where sometimes a pop off is needed, but it doesn't mean that it makes it right. It has taken me about 20 years to understand that I truly needed help for my own pron habits, and even then I am hesitant on giving it up because of how long this garbage has somewhat comforted me in my lonely times. How I wish all these years ago I have gone to the Lord God to help me out instead of giving in to this shameful sin.

I never share my opinion on the internet, but I'm in desperate need for God's help. After being born again I'm more aware of the sin in my life. I struggle with pornography and some lustful thoughts. I fight it but often felt defeated and discouraged. It came to a point that I started to hate my sexual desire and consider it a curse that God laid on me. I even think it would be better that I don't have this desire in the first place. This discouragement kill my hope for marriage in the future, cause I'm afraid I will dishonor my future wife. I know maybe nobody will see this. If someone see this please pray for me.

I feel like it needs to be noted here that he is not saying that a believer can lose their salvation. The man who cried out to Jesus for his son said, "... help my unbelief." Pastor John has been on record many times that the bible is absolutely clear that a born again Christian is secure in his salvation. Which is 100% biblical. Hebrews tells us to labor to enter into His rest. I think this is the battle for faith. But there may be some seemingly "fighting" in their own strength. The ultimate fight is to rest in belief, in Christ because He has already won it all.

Pastor John, I am so grateful for this and I just want to say thank you to you so much. I am a woman battling sexual sin. And you're right! Unless you've learned to discipline yourself and not succumb to sexual sins, you'll never be free. At some point, I've realized how eerie and creepy it is that my ex-boyfriend was trying to get me back with sex. It's a form of control. Every time he texted me, I felt it was like Satan texting me, trying to get me by my weakness. I know I shouldn't have had sex with him to begin with, and now he feels he has power and control over me. I just have to say no to temptations when temptations come my way. Again thank you so much Pastor John. Your lectures have been most impactful to me.

By this perspective then, every sin we, as true real believers, commit is a sin committed in unbelief. By this ideology you are insinuating that if we believe, if we TRULY believe, we will never sin again and achieve sinless perfection on this Earth. I'll tell you this. The root of lust is our flesh. Not unbelief. In my RELATIONSHIP with God I have still fallen many times and it was never because I did not know him or experience him or have a developed relationship with him... It was because my flesh still wars with my mind and soul. Just as Paul says of himself in Romans. It's never been because I didn't believe in the Glorious risen Jesus Christ.

I get it. The busier we get with things from this world. The easier before under temptation. The more we keep ourselves busy with things from God. The better chance we have to when the fight over temptation. If you for example know and believe Revelation 21:8.You wil stay away from those sins. For many years I didn't read bible and wasn't even aware or 100% certain that certain things were sins and I certainly didn't know that there are some kinds of sin. That will send you directly to hell and is much more dangerous than other sins. God hates all sin. But definitely hate some kind of Sin more than others.

"Not knowing god is the root of lust" There is a straight line between looking at someone with lust and looking at someone with love. Jesus had lived a life WITHOUT SINNING on earth, and jesus never sinned and never will sin. Jesus was able to look at women with love instead of lust. He knew and knows god and he has always been righteous. In case we are struggling with lust, it is because we are godless. Man, even a catholic will probably agree to what I say based on what I said earlier in this comment. We have to stay close to god and walk with him. I myself ask for a blessing before I go to the toilet or wash my hands or eat my food etc because everything we don't do in the name of god is a sin. Logically since god is totally pure and righteous. And god also tells us to know him in all of our ways. If lust is in our way, then do we know god? Are we really close to him? Do you think god would walk on a path with lust perhaps? Of course not! We have to take gods word seriously and believe me, it is totally NOT wrong to ask for a blessing before you eat, wash your hands, etc. Rather, ir is GOOD to do so.

I'm not trying to justify sin. I'm also not trying to say one sin is different from any other sin. The pimp who ask women to go out to make money for him is not different than the man who beats his wife. Sin is sin. This first in Romans 4-5 is a great verse. I read a commentary by Matthew Henry and I would like to get you take on it. Thank you. Romans 4:1-8 Here the apostle proves that Abraham was justified not by works, but by faith. Those that of all men contended most vigorously for a share in righteousness by the privileges they enjoyed, and the works they performed, were the Jews, and therefore he appeals to the case of Abraham their father, and puts his own name to the relation, being a Hebrew of the Hebrews: Abraham our father. Now surely his prerogative must needs be as great as theirs who claim it as his seed according to the flesh. Now what has he found? All the world is seeking; but, while the most are wearying themselves for very vanity, none can be truly reckoned to have found, but those who are justified before God; and thus Abraham, like a wise merchant, seeking goodly pearls, found this one pearl of great price. What has he found, kata sarka - as pertaining to the flesh, that is, by circumcision and his external privileges and performances? These the apostle calls flesh, Php_3:3. Now what did he get by these? Was he justified by them? Was it the merit of his works that recommended him to God's acceptance? No, by no means, which he proves by several arguments. I. If he had been justified by works, room would have been left for boasting, which must for ever be excluded. If so, he hath whereof to glory (Rom_4:2), which is not to be allowed. “But,” might the Jews say, “was not his name made great (Gen_12:2), and then might not he glory?” Yes, but not before God; he might deserve well of men, but he could never merit of God. Paul himself had whereof to glory before men, and we have him sometimes glorying in it, yet with humility; but nothing to glory in before God, 1Co_4:4; Php_3:8, Php_3:9. So Abraham. Observe, He takes it for granted that man must not pretend to glory in any thing before God; no, not Abraham, as great and as good a man as he was; and therefore he fetches an argument from it: it would be absurd for him that glorieth to glory in any but the Lord. II. It is expressly said that Abraham's faith was counted to him for righteousness. What saith the scripture? Rom_4:3. In all controversies in religion this must be our question, What saith the scripture? It is not what this great man, and the other good man, say, but What saith the scripture? Ask counsel at this Abel, and so end the matter, 2Sa_2:18. To the law, and to the testimony (Isa_8:20), thither is the last appeal. Now the scripture saith that Abraham believed, and this was counted to him for righteousness (Gen_15:6); therefore he had not whereof to glory before God, it being purely of free grace that it was so imputed, and having not in itself any of the formal nature of a righteousness, further than as God himself was graciously pleased so to count it to him. It is mentioned in Genesis, upon occasion of a very signal and remarkable act of faith concerning the promised seed, and is the more observable in that it followed upon a grievous conflict he had had with unbelief; his faith was now a victorious faith, newly returned from the battle. It is not the perfect faith that is required to justification (there may be acceptable faith where there are remainders of unbelief), but the prevailing faith, the faith that has the upper hand of unbelief. III. If he had been justified by faith, the reward would have been of debt, and not of grace, which is not to be imagined. This is his argument (Rom_4:4, Rom_4:5): Abraham's reward was God himself; so he had told him but just before (Gen_15:1), I am thy exceeding great reward. Now, if Abraham had merited this by the perfection of his obedience, it had not been an act of grace in God, but Abraham might have demanded it with as much confidence as ever any labourer in the vineyard demanded the penny he had earned. But this cannot be; it is impossible for man, much more guilty man, to make God a debtor to him, Rom_11:35. No, God will have free grace to have all the glory, grace for grace's sake, Joh_1:16. And therefore to him that worketh not - that can pretend to no such merit, nor show any worth or value in his work, which may answer such a reward, but disclaiming any such pretension casts himself wholly upon the free grace of God in Christ, by a lively, active, obedient faith - to such a one faith is counted for righteousness, is accepted of God as the qualification required in all those that shall be pardoned and saved. Him that justifieth the ungodly, that is, him that was before ungodly. His former ungodliness was no bar to his justification upon his believing: ton asebē - that ungodly one, that is, Abraham, who, before his conversion, it should seem, was carried down the stream of the Chaldean idolatry, Jos_24:2. No room therefore is left for despair; though God clears not the impenitent guilty, yet through Christ he justifies the ungodly. IV. He further illustrates this by a passage out of the Psalms, where David speaks of the remission of sins, the prime branch of justification, as constituting the happiness and blessedness of a man, pronouncing blessed, not the man who has no sin, or none which deserved death (for then, while man is so sinful, and God so righteous, where would be the blessed man?) but the man to whom the Lord imputeth not sin, who though he cannot plead, Not guilty, pleads the act of indemnity, and his plea is allowed. It is quoted from Psa_32:1, Psa_32:2, where observe, 1. The nature of forgiveness. It is the remission of a debt or a crime; it is the covering of sin, as a filthy thing, as the nakedness and shame of the soul. God is said to cast sin behind his back, to hide his face from it, which, and the like expressions, imply that the ground of our blessedness is not our innocency, or our not having sinned (a thing is, and is filthy, though covered; justification does not make the sin not to have been, or not to have been sin), but God's not laying it to our charge, as it follows here: it is God's not imputing sin (Rom_4:8), which makes it wholly a gracious act of God, not dealing with us in strict justice as we have deserved, not entering into judgment, not marking iniquities, all which being purely acts of grace, the acceptance and the reward cannot be expected as debts; and therefore Paul infers (Rom_4:6) that it is the imputing of righteousness without works. 2. The blessedness of it: Blessed are they. When it is said, Blessed are the undefiled in the way, blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, etc., the design is to show the characters of those that are blessed; but when it is said, Blessed are those whose iniquities are forgiven, the design is to show what that blessedness is, and what the ground and foundation of it. Pardoned people are the only blessed people. The sentiments of the world are, Those are happy that have a clear estate, and are out of debt to man; but the sentence of the word is, Those are happy that have their debts to God discharged. O how much therefore is it our interest to make it sure to ourselves that our sins are pardoned! For this is the foundation of all other benefits. So and so I will do for them; for I will be merciful, Heb_8:12.

When I listened to this I truly knew it was for me not simply because I have been struggling with lust, thus with unbelief, but strangely also because Tony said that John preached this in 1988... Just before I liked this podcast, the number of likes was 988. I know it really doesn't mean anything but how many liked this teaching, but I wanna use it as if the number was 1988 - when this was preached as encouragement.

I’ve been battling with the temptation to give in to unbelief and sexual behavior for a minute now. Thank the Lord He’s been getting me more excited about studying the Bible and the teachings involved in it as well as giving me questions to explore. I knew sexual sin was wrong but I got curious as to why it was so dangerous, dangerous enough for people to say it’s like death and to run immediately from it.

i do agree with most of what you say, but to me having faith and having knowledge is not the same. So many people do “believe” and go to church and Bible Study, but they refuse to accept that sleeping with their boy/ girlfriend is a sin. So they do have faith( they believe), but they do not have knowlewdge of what God’s word actually say, nor are they obedient. Am i interpreting it correctly?

Faith implies obedience. See the examples in Hebrews 11. All the people did God's will, they obeyed Him in some matter, and for that they are presented to us as examples of people who acted "by faith." James 2 also speaks about works that accompany true faith vs the "faith of devils". James isn't talking about works of the Law, but works or deeds of faith, what a person does out of a heart that loves God and his ways. 1 John 2:3-4 3 This is how we know that we know Him: if we keep his commandments. 4 One who says, “I know him,” and does not keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. To be honest, lust negatively affects every single thing in my life. I get tempted, and this temptation, seems to consume me the entire days. I have my days where I feel encouraged and empowered by God to stand upright and do His will, the other days I'm doing the complete opposite. I'm struggling so bad, and I feel like I'm letting God down. I know the scriptures, I feel like that's the worst part. Knowing the scriptures, knowing the many promises of God. How much He loves me. How much he cares about me and all of you reading this... It's the worst to know the truth and still rebel. I know I can do better, but I'm not... My lust is destroying me. It's taking my focus away from my beautiful fiance. It's taking my focus away from my career and my family. Just one lustful thought causes me to not only look up pornography, but takes me even deeper into homosexuality. Yes. I said it. It'll start with lust, then p***, next thing you know I'm watching men that have gotten surgies to look like women engaging in Sodomy with other men. To makenit worse, they even look like real women; almost like I habe some mental illness of some sort... I feel disgusting... Stting in the bathroom for hours, and my fiance is cleaning and cooking 🥺 Some may laugh at this, but I'm being 100% real. I feel so bad, looking in her eyes, knowing that if I told her, she wouldn't leave. No. She'd be devastated though... That is killing me. PLEASE PRAY FOR ME! PLEASE!

Hello there.. Something like this needs a practical method to be free.. It's not just avout prayer alone, it's about what you do after praying.. What are the contents of the things you see? Movies..? Browsing sites? Pictures..? If this things are filthy or contains a touch of filth like immoral scenes, surely you'll be bound by the things you're trying to escape from.. Clear your phones from things like this, stay away from certain kind of movies that can stir up these things, watch what your eyes feeds on, instead spend more time reading your Bible and getting clean.. What of the places you go? Do you go to places where the people around you talk dirty things or do dirty things? Do you have dirty kind of conversations with people? Stop hanging out with those kind of people, stop being in places where you'll be tempted to listen to those kinds of conversation.. Rather, work time more around godly people that their words have been seasoned with salt. Above all.. Have a good relationship with God which comes from having to hear God daily from your Bible and people that preached the true gospel.. Be intentional about getting free.. Remember 1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from every form of evil.

Stop worrying, you’re saved by faith not works. Works is a result of faith but you’re not perfect nor ever will be. Paul describes exactly what you’re going through. Romans 7:15- For I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. So it’s a constant battle and God knows this, that’s why Jesus came because it’s impossible for us to be perfect. God expects people to come clean witn Him and forsake their sins. That's the basis for salvation from sin. Now a reality of still sinning does not reflect salvation from sin. Sin is a death trap. Salvation means being set free from that death trap. God is waiting on the sinner to repent. Praying for deliverance will lead to no results without complete surrender to God. James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Obedience yes, that is the bridge that gets us further down the road to a life that is pleasing to God

Evans, I pray you can read this comment and be blessed in what you take from it. Be deliberate to put God's word in you. He will guide you in all! Psalm 119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Matthew 11:28-30 28 “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” All you need to approach God is to see eye to eye with Him about sin, repent and pursue God's ways (have faith in Jesus / follow Jesus) with all your heart. Be immersed in his words. John 6:63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life. John 8:31-32 31 Jesus therefore said to those Jews who had believed him, “If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. 32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.*” * Free from sin, see verses 34-36. The Good News of salvation is freedom from sin. Not just freedom from sinful behaviors, but purity of heart to live by love (Matthew 5:8, 1 Timothy 1:5, Psalm 24:3-4 vs Mark 7:21-23). And the person who is saved is removed from under the power of the devil (Acts 26:18, 2 Timothy 2:26) and from the path that leads to death to be put on the path that leads to eternal life (Romans 6:23, Matthew 7:13-14). Psalm 139:23-24 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. This will happen: Romans 6:18 Being made free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. Remember these: John 14:15, 21 15 If you love me, keep my commandments. 21 The one who has my commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me. And the one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him. 1 John 5:3-4 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome, 4 because everyone born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith. Luke 5:31-32 31 Jesus answered them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do. 32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” The call to repentance to be forgiven of past sins and reconciled to God is given with such directions: James 1:21-22 21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. James 4:8-10 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Lament, mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you. God supplies all that is needed in terms of power to live for Him. It's by his grace properly understood (Titus 2:11-14, Romans 6:1-2, 12-15, 1 Peter 4:1-3, 2 Peter 1:2-11, James 4:6-10). I pray these help also: True Repentance kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmqbmHyVjpumZ9E Crucify the Flesh kzbin.info/aero/PLQKBVZh0-tlKdbQIK0XeRx9dpcPT-EJzE Be encouraged and may you find life and peace (Romans 8:6)!

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them. 1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians? 2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her? 3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of Menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offence. 4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odour for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbours. They claim the odour is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them? 5. I have a neighbour who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it? 6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination, Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination? 7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here? 8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die? 9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves? 10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14) I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I'm confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging

It is. A proper and fresh view of the majesty of Jesus makes the appeal of lust dry. When our hearts are saturated by the revelation of His love and His promises; when we feast upon Him and draw joy and pleasure from deep wells of our salvation, the grip of lust is lost. Lust allures because the eyes are beginning to wander. They are no more transfixed on that glorious revelation of God in Christ Jesus. Psa 36.9 with you is the fountain of life. Wisdom of Christ releases me from the grips of sin. Not sin. But the dominion of it. Constantly lusting and committing sexual sin is a sign of no knowledge or love for Christ. WHY? "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"; Romans 3:23 "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23 JESUS HAD TO DIE! "But God commends his love for us, so that when we are still sinners, Christ died for us.9 Much more now, being justified by his blood, we will be saved from wrath through him." Romans 5: 8-9 "Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that he was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures." 1 Corinthians 15: 3-4 WHY? Mt.26: 28 (See also 1 Corinthians 11: 25; 2 Cor 3: 6) '' And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission (of sins). Hebrews 9:22 " For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.." Hebrews 10:14 GOD'S GIFT TO ALL WHO COME TO THE CROSS OF CHRIST IN FAITH Ephesians 2: 8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast." 2 Corinthians 6:2 " For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. Romans 10: 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Lust is the worst. Cuz its constantly put in ur face, constantly ariund u, so easy to fall into it. U wud need to be in the middle of nowhere in order to obstain from any impure thoughts, even then u may fail. We need God, Jesus Christ is the ONLY way. Its definately a never ending battle! As Jesus said, "those who endure till the end, shalm he saved"! God please help us all! 🙏🙏

You need to practice self-denial and taking up your cross daily to follow Jesus (Luke 9:23). You have to endure to the end, but that does not mean your experience can only be of a permanent struggle with lust. You can have victory. You can have the upper hand, that's what I am saying. You can stand and not be at risk of falling into sin any minute on any day, even in this increasingly godless world. And that happens when you have crucified your flesh so as to walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16, 24). The grace of God is what empowers you to walk that walk of faith that pleases God (Titus 2:11-14). Listen to the messages on my playlist called "Crucify The Flesh." It's right on my channel's home page, under "Reference Playlists." I hope they help. Peace to you!

According to Piper and Calvinists, if we have enough faith then we can apparently live sinlessly. Christ died knowing we could not be perfectly faithful. Piper’s doctrine that sinful living can cause us to not be saved is an insult to the sacrifice of Christ

I honestly feel we are set up to fail ..the odds stacked against us and God isn't concerned he expects us to do it ourselves or else praying for a cure for lust could be the same as praying for a something else like an ailment so why dosent God grant answers of prayer for things like getting rid of lust because I have done EVERYTHING renouncing lust and fornication/ pornography and fasting with diligent prayer nothing is strong enough and God makes me really mad at his attitude toward it which is basically fight it yourself and somehow scriptures are supposed to help but they don't for so many people

Rob oshea, take a look at this article: yestothetruth.blogspot.com/2019/09/struggling-with-lust-message-for-men.html But bear in mind that the fact that you could easily go into putting blame on God when it may just be that you don't understand your battle will hinder you from advancing into a relationship with God and having victory over sin. So, you want to humble yourself before God and let go of that blaming attitude, too. Peace to you!

@@conyu8038 I recommend you lookup this message on KZbin: _"Born Again Through Repentance And Faith"_ by Zac Poonen. You can start listening at 23:38. It will show you the way to come into a relationship with God and have his guidance in every aspect of your life. I suggest you make pursuing that relationship with God your priority. It will be better to follow God's precise direction than to listen to people's thoughts about what you should do. Get to the place where you can hear from God directly what He wants you to do going forward. Have a heart to be obedient to God out of love for God and He will strengthen you for anything He calls you to do. Peace to you!

Like so many of Pipers messages Ive heard, this one also contradicts his other messages on eternal security, perseverance of the saints, and osas. I agree with the general obedience part of this message. However, I dont agree that lust (sin) is indicative of unbelief. If so, nobody believes. Bathsheba anyone? Solomon had 300 concubines. David and Solomon didnt believe? I think Pipers extrapolation of the verse is a stretch.

Yeah something is wrong with this ideology! By his perspective then, every sin we, as true real believers, commit is a sin committed in unbelief. By this ideology he is insinuating that if we believe, if we TRULY believe, we will never sin again and achieve sinless perfection on this Earth.

What exactly was the point in creating such an extremely powerful sexual desire within each human only to use that particular sexual desire, external conscious torture as the punishment, against that person if they give into it? God knows how powerful sexual desires are and that those sexual desires extend far beyond physical needs, such as needs for affection, love, true intimacy, and more! Yet, He creates this desire in all of us and slaps us and tell us to not want this?! Or if weee weak He will torture us in all eternity with a conscious torture of hell fire?

Then sanctification starts. We will never be sinless in this flesh. If you believe. You salvation is secure.

I think that's an odd interpretation of 1 Thessalonians 4:5. If you lust you dont know God? John Piper doesnt know God? Hes never lusted? Well what about lying, coveting, boasting, drunkenness? Did David not lust? We lust for the same reasons we sin at all. My understanding is that we all sin, but unlike the pagans, the Christian doesn't embrace the sin. The Christian fights sin and repents.

Yes I agree. Every sin is difficult to overcome. Sexual sin and lust can range from committing adultery and watching pornography to looking at a girl in the mall (or even in church) who is dressed provocatively. Greed, pride, envy, love of self (and every sin) all have their own parameters. That's why our savior had to pay such a heavy, heavy, price. But He paid it for all of us.

What this does is cause us to focus even MORE on the flesh, which is the WORST thing to do. By now, we should know what happens when we do "anything". We learned that as children. Christ has done all that HE has done, so that our "attention" is now on HIM; the Savior. A minister's "response-ability", is to "redirect themselves and others to the LORD. Once a person has "believed" (John 3:16), then the "union" between that person and God is restored. God gave His Son to be the "Lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world." WHATEVER that person does, they now have to "report back to the Lord", by "confessing their sins", so the Savior can "forgive them of their sins"(I John 1:9). That is the first and most important step. Confessing our sins to the Lord, is also a part of doing God's will. A minister's role is to help the person to "function" within the new "Vine/branch union" (John 15:1-5). God wants us to simply "do His will".

Yes, it does. And failure to be faithful to one's spouse opens the door to adultery of which it is said that those who do such a thing will not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Faith implies faithful obedience to God which is an expression of love for God (John 14:15, Galatians 5:6, 1 John 5:3). People need to seek and find God while He may be found (Isaiah 55:6-7, James 4:7-8).
