The ferno shield has a 5x3 safezone, starting from the front and lingering back. The reason the safespot tiles are used is because they're the 1 tile that works in both directions. But you can fall behind the shield to still be safe. Also, Jeeez that was some nice rng on the tanks. Something I like to do when my dps is low on Zuk is to move all the way to the east (when the shield is there ofcourse), similar to what you do during healers to avoid damage. That way you drag out the mager 2 tiles from its spawn, making it easier to tag the next one when another set spawns.

yeah the shield protects three tiles, the safespot tiles are at the furthest "forward" safe points (for both directions), because those are the only safe tiles that overlap for both directions of shield movement

4:10 jagex confirmed how bulwark would work in leaguecord a few days after they revealed combat style relics I had basically the same build as you actually. I also couldn't kill jad in time and ran all the way out to kill *him* with UR. It literally didn't even occur to me to spec the rangers with melee

The relic applies to the south-west tile of larger monsters, so if you are at a different side you may be too far away for it to apply damage to that NPC
