I’m not sure how this one escaped me for so long being such a fan of Scottish folk songs and the film The Wicker Man! Many thanks to @garypd88 who suggested it!
This song tells the story of a woman who was widowed by the Battle of Culloden, the final confrontation of the Jacobite uprising led by Bonnie Prince Charlie.
This is the first song the can be heard in The Wicker Man too as Sergeant Howie flies to Summerisle.

I rewatched The Wicker Man in the theater last night and was struck by this haunting song which is only briefly featured at the film’s opening. ‘So fortunate to find such a stunning (and complete) version of this tune. Bravo, Kerry.
