Canadian here. This whole situation makes me so sad. We have to do better. There is no real means for transportation for these people and no payphone left to call if someone find themselves in a bad spot. They have also since taken out the greyhound service to some areas too so they women and men too are forced to hitch hike. This has been going on for DECADES AND DECADES. When will we do better!?!?! Why are we not trying to help our indigious brothers and sisters!!!!

I think the province put public transportation on hwy 16 a few years ago- not sure how frequently it runs. I think there is a shuttle and maybe a bus?

I live in Prince George , British Columbia where many of these women lived . This is one of the saddest unsolved cases in my province . It’s very isolated around here , and is a perfect breeding ground for serial murderers .

I feel like unless u know the area or something the severity of the situation is not coming across properly. They take out all and any public transportation and pay phones or emergency phones at the very least. And then offer no alternatives to get in and out of some of these areas and then people end up hitching or finding rides with unsavory characters. It is so so sad.

Creating a public transportation system for those territories seems like a easy solution to implement in order to provide the residents to access to get into townships. Why has this not been done? The neglect of these communities is really a national embarrassment because better can be done but government officials are choosing not to do so.

I think it's more than one predator out there on that route. MANY actually. That is probably a feeding ground because of terrain & lack of police success solving these cases for decades. These ladies need justice. Prayers for the fam.

I’ve been watching and reading about these missing & murdered indigenous women for a few years. It makes me so mad and so sad! I’d love to come walk with the ladies, I really would. I live in WVa, I wonder how one could do that walk with them? I’m going to be looking into that. Not like I have extra cash laying around but in this case, I’d figure out some way to get to go.

It's so sad and disturbing that these lovely people were murdered. Whoever the killer is, they are truly dead inside. I can't imagine the pain the unfortunate family and friends of the victims must go through everyday. I have faith they will all be united again someday. As for the murderer, there are no words to accurately describe what waits for them.

Sad as it is these cases were never investigated as throughly as they should of in the beginning. This is unfair for the victims and families. Those with money and power keep secrets. The ones that we are supposed to trust can’t be trusted. These beautiful women will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to the families and friends.

I knew one of the missing women, Nicole Hoar. She was in Dawson City the summer she disappeared. Last time I talked to her she was headed back south to do some more tree planting.

Other than, there are many people that do care about your friend, and every one of these women that have been tossed aside, and treated horrifically by the 'Police', and the public also. Most people have a cell phone these days. I know it’s not optimal but for anyone having to hitchhike out of necessity, each person should be encouraged to take a picture of the license plate of the vehicle he/she is planning on entering. Then text that picture to someone reliable. And if it happens that the person driving the vehicle has I’ll intentions then they will just takeoff ♥️🇨🇦♥️

We have a government that does not care about the Indigenous people, police that refuse to investigate and courts that have allowed the murderers of Indigenous women to walk free. They are empowering these killers to target Indigenous women/girls, men/boys with no fear of repercussions. I am so tired of the lies and broken promises. Growing up in Sask, so many of my sisters and brothers never made it home, and nothing was ever done!!! GETTING TIRED OF THIS SYSTEM OF LIES!!

I would go through there when heading home to Alaska there was palaces we visit as family in Canada I was young when Alberta went missing but I had drove it alone when I was in my 20s had no idea this was going on. Very sad.
