I hear the train a comin'
It's rollin' 'round the bend
And I ain't seen the sunshine
Since, I don't know when
I'm stuck in Folsom Prison
And time keeps draggin' on
But that train keeps a-rollin'

I was there! Waylon was actually the star of the live shows, in a way. He was the one who embraced the concept of the group and spoke and joked about himself and the others and kept the crowd entertained.
@60Cascade
@60Cascade 4 жыл бұрын
@@highnrising Exactly right. I saw them in the early 90s and I commented to the people I was with that it surprised me that Waylon was sort of the spokesman for the group. And he was really funny. I'd seen Waylon in concert in the late 70s and he hardly talked at all in between songs. Cash on the other hand (who I'd seen several times in concert) would always talk and joke with his audience, but he didn't say much during the Highwaymen show. He did get a standing ovation when he did the "Ragged Old Flag" which was very moving. Great memories - I love all four of these guys.

So thankful that the filmmakers chose to shoot on film instead of video which was becoming more common at that time. Videotapes hard a resolution of roughly 480i. When 35mm film is scanned, it resolves a resolution of about 4k. As a result, this restored footage looks like it was shot yesterday. Great to see history preserved!

Yes Amazing Talent, What an Incredible Artist & Writer. This song still sounds amazing many years later after it's release. People still love it !! What an explosive Era. IT's amazing that Johnny was right there with his fantastic contributions to the era !! He had a feel like no other artist. This song still sounds great at my live gigs. (pre Covid) .. and it works well on the Cruise Ship gigs as well. My Students love to learn and play this song. If you need it transposed into a different key to make it easier to sing, i can help you with that as well. Gotta Love the Classics. ;-)
