It's easier to blunder. Titled players are better at effectively bouncing back from, and punishing blunders. Titled players have high win rates, and in blitz you play more games. All kinds of reasons. More time to think, more time for your opponent to think, etc

I actually agree with Hikaru’s take on the women world championship. The whole women’s only titles is a net negative for women. It really only encourages them to settle for less. Participation doesn’t mean a damn thing if they’re not incentivized to push further. Then again I think male at the highest level are simply better but that’s besides the point. The amount of interest in the championship proves this.

I think women only tournaments and championships are a necessary evil at the moment because chess is just more popular with boys and men than it is with girls and women, and they're a way to give more visibility to the game to about half of the population. The reasons for that are better left to people who do actual historical and sociological research into the topic, but personally, and whatever the reasons may be, I expect that within a couple of decades the gap will close little by little, there will be more and more women playing chess, hence more and more women GMs (not WGMs), and at some point women only tournaments will just become unnecessary because women will perform as well as men in open tournaments. Just my opinion though.
