I traveled to Nepal Himalayas in February this year with Phantom4. The 16 days treking journey was really hard, but the scenery was very impressed and fantastic.

Oh ~ seem to have been at a similar time. it would be a bit difficult to include the scenery of the Himalayas because of the narrow angle of view. I thought of taking the Mavic Pro before I left, but I choose Phantom 4 because it is more suitable for shooting.

Did you get footage everyday? Im taking a Mavic Pro but it seems like the Phantom 4 would be a better option for higher resolution photos. It'd be nice to have an Inspire2 but d@mn that pricetag!
@SKYMediaworks7 жыл бұрын
Yes, I shot footage almost every day. I think Mabic is a great choice. Although the picture quality of the picture is worse than the phantom, it seems that the portability is the best. However, I took Phantom4 because I thought that image quality is more important than portability. Forget Inspire It's a suicide act to trek more than 15 days with an inspire. it's too heavy!!!
@TheNewnan37 жыл бұрын
Yeah Ive had racing quads but it wasnt until the Mavic came out that I considered a photo drone....Im almost thinking about switching to a 4 Pro but I would lose too much money on the Mavic. Ill just need to get a little closer to my subjects ;)

Hello, thank you for your great video. I'm also interested in minimising risks of confiscation and penalising for flying drone there. Did you put your drone in hand luggage or checked-in one? Thanks. Does Kathmandu airport have x-ray baggage checking upon arrival?
@SKYMediaworks7 жыл бұрын
You need to bring the drone battery into the airplane by hand luggage. Airline and airport regulations do not allow batteries to be sent as check-in luggage. And in the Kathmandu or Lukla airport security check counter, the drones and batteries were not a big issue. I was able to come to Nepal ,with 4 batteries of drones, 3 dslr batteries, 2 camcorder batteries and laptop.
@maxzabarovsky18907 жыл бұрын
Ok, thank you. And what's the punishment actions can be applied to drone operator if he operates it without permit? Is it a drone confiscation and a penalty (don't you know how big this penalty is)? Haven't found special law in CAAN.
@SKYMediaworks7 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure. My guide told me that there was a penalty over $1000 and the disadvantage of confiscating the drones. However, since soldiers and police are only in certain areas, it will not be a problem if you get accurate information from the guide.
@TheNewnan37 жыл бұрын
Were you able to regularly charge all your batteries? I plan on bringing 5 drone batts and 8 dslr batts plus a small battery bank with a solar charger for the phone and mavic pro controller. Perhaps a bit of overkill? Thanks for all the replies btw....Subbed!
@SKYMediaworks7 жыл бұрын
In my case, three drone batteries were enough. Sometimes it's hard to shoot, and charging cost fee is too high , so it is too costly to charge a lot of batteries. The charge for the battery was expensive as it went up to the high ground and the charge for the battery in the highest town was $ 5. Battery charging is available in all towns. My opinion is that your battery is too much. It's better to take the baggage as light as possible.

Was it difficult to get the proper permit/permissions to fly? Im doing the EBC trek via Gokyo later this year! Outstanding footage!
@SKYMediaworks7 жыл бұрын
The EBC is a wonderful place. Just go as planned and have a great view of the landscape. The Himalayan National Park area requires permission to fly a drone. However, the Permit cost was too high and it took a lot of time to issue permit, so I just filmed without permission.
@TheNewnan37 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the honest response! Were there park rangers or anyone like that around? Ive watched dozens of videos and I havent seen a single person who looked official in that regard.... Whats the cost of the permit??
@SKYMediaworks7 жыл бұрын
In the Himalayan National Park there are police and armies in some villages. If you hire a guide he will let you know where should not fly... And I know that the cost of issuing permits is about $ 1500. However, when you take a permit and shoot, supervisor accompanies you to supervise by various agencies. You have to pay the cost of these people. This cost is about $ 100 per day per supervisor. And it takes about a month to get a permit, so it costs too much to shoot for nonprofit purposes.
@TheNewnan37 жыл бұрын
D@mn! Ill have a guide and porters so hopefully they can clue me in....
@SKYMediaworks7 жыл бұрын
You do not need to hire both porters and guides. some guide may do porter roles at the same time. In this case, the guide will carry your luggage about 20Kg. And the Khumbu area is too dangerous, so I recommend you to hire a guide.

dji카페에서 즐겁게 보고있습니다 질문이 있는데 이런 음원은 도대체 어디서 구하시나요? 자멘도,유튜브에는 안나오던데요
@SKYMediaworks7 жыл бұрын
이음원은 audiomachine.com에서 구매했구요..

Nice picture!! Two Requests: Instead of epic background music some soothing Himalayan music with flute, local drums or Tibetan trumpets might enhance the videography. Along with this, since the focus is on the mountain ranges, the music should follow the video and not otherwise. Best wishes!!
