Good evening sir, Today's motivational quote is from my side “Happiness does not lie in having much, but it is in being content with little.” Editorial is concerning to temporary revival of Indian economy. Summary: - According to the NSO data, It appears that the Indian economy had got the base in January-March quarter before the second wave of the pandemic. Last year, the GDP increased in the final quarter, which accelerated form its preceding three-month period that eased the limit of the full-year’s contraction. The Centre had earlier projected contraction of the GDP by 8% in a full-year. There was a growth in Gross Value Added in last quarter in all sectors excluding two i.e. mining and quarrying and service category of trade, hotels, transport, communications etc. that were contracted too much. Even now, the pandemic’s crushing impact during the prior three quarters meant that only the agriculture, forestry and fishing services recorded full-year growth. On the expenditure side, private consumption spending shown to have bounced back to increase for the first time in full year, posting an expansion of 2.7% that moderated the full-year’s reduction to 9.1% as well as enhancement of the fixed capital formation. However, the NSO data should be seen in perspective. Having shifted the things since March with the increase of COVID cases, it is crucial to correlate the figures with ground information. The GVA seemed to have gained in the last quarter, following a return to growth in the September-December period after five straight quarters of contraction. HIS Markit’s survey for May showed, the important sectors are facing stagnation due to undermining demand. Similarly, the temporary estimates for fiscal year 2020-21 showed the weakest level in three years of expenditure figure. After that, a survey for May also showed that confidence of people decreased due to fearing of pandemic’s impact and depressed respondents’ outlook in all four fronts including jobs and personal financial conditions. Given the unabated job losses and wide spreading of the virus in rural areas, CMIE data suggests that vaccine roll out and direct job and income boosting measures can prevent the economy from rebounding again. In my notion: - It is true that the Indian economy was rebounding before the second wave of the pandemic but it again ruined everything. A large number of people lost their jobs due to the pademic’s impact and they have not been provided employment yet. A drastic increase in unemployment has been seen. The ruling government has only option to tackle the horrible situation through generating employment and vaccinating all. A big concern is that the virus has been affecting the people of rural area where health infrastructure has already been in dilapidated. Besides, we have seen that most of sectors have affected due to the pandemic but agriculture is the sector that maintained full-year growth so our government must take adequate steps, securing the rural area people. Given the spread of virus, most people those who have liquidity, scaring to purchase any items due to which the government has been facing many challenges to control the situation. Despite, being India as a developing country, it must try to adopt/follow the norms of the United States that has curbed the infection of the virus. However, there was a time when India had experienced the complete lockdown and the economy was in worse condition, it worked beyond the expectation and the economy bounced back quickly so we hope the economy will get its previous extent soon. Words which I learnt during the session are as under:- (1) Tenuous - Slight, Weak, Shaky (2) Posit - Suggest, Put forward (3) Project - Forecast, Predict, Estimate (4) Preceding - Previous, Prior (5) Perspective - View point, Outlook (6) Traction - The degree to which a new idea, product etc becomes popular or more widely accepted , Growth (7) Stagnation - Slump, Inactivity, Slow down (8) Tumble - Fall, Drop, Plummet (9) Ravaged - Destroy, Devastate (10) Crushing - Severe, Devastating (11) Proxy - A situation, process, or activity to which another situation, etc. is compared, especially in order to calculate how successful or unsuccessful it is, Representative, Substitute. (12) In perspective (Phrasal Verb) - Judge real importance by considering it in relation to everything else (13) Prospect - Likelihood, Possibility (14) Bulwark - Defence, Fortification, Support, Guard, Protection (15) Tumble - Fall, Drop, Plummet (16) Revival - Bounce back (17) Opposite of Tenuous is Robust (18) Footing - Hold, Grip (19) Expand - Increase (20) Opposite of Acceleration is Deceleration. (21) Soften - Easy (22) Contraction - Decrease, Mitigate (23) Fair measure - Considerably (24) Plural of Datum is Data. (25) Surge - Growth (26) Likelihood - Possibility (27) Provisional - Temporary (28) Account for (Phrasal Verb) - To form a total of something (29) Opposite of Plummet is Surge (30) Abate - Decrease (31) Opposite of Abate is Un abate (32) Backsliding - Revert, Return ■ Revision • Mandate - To make something necessary, especially as a rule, Order, Command, Instruct • Oversight - Inspection, Supervision • Hyperbole - Exaggeration, Overstatement • Turn in - Produce, Achieve • Upswing - Increase, Boom, Growth ■ Sentences related to Was, Must, Where, Have, Why and Passive Voice. In the preceding three-quarter year the agricultural, commercial, service, hotel, electric supply remain economy booster. The second wave crushed the rural economy as well as urban. The private sector consumption has observed a transitory increase. The faith of the people has been distracted due to pandemics. As per ipso the unemployment has increased by 11% which is highest ever reported. To rebounded the economy the government have create a job, open MGNREGA universal, and administer the jab which builds the confidence of the people. We the students of Jammu and Kashmir appeared in the examination of Class IV jobs. Recently the marks were declared by jkssb and many no. of students who are in merit are graduates. Now jkssb chairman recently said in his interview that all the students having qualification more than 12th class will be kicked from the recruitment process. How far is this justified? We have worked very hard for this job. How can higher education become barrier? It has never happened before. We don't want them to give us weightage to higher qualification but how can they kick us.
