Good evening sir, as per my previous commitment, today I watched this editorial session as your organization is closed on Thursday. Motivational quote is “It always seems impossible until it's done". Editorial is concerning to imposing lockdown for curbing the spreading of COVID-19 across the country. In editorial - India has responded to the large scale transmission of the Novel coronavirus, imposing complete lockdown in entire country. The aim is to flatten the transmission curve, ensuring help systems which are in worsen condition in many places of the country. The government has decided to restrict inter-state bus services, train, Closure of public places, cessation of all non-essential activity etc. The government has even appealed to the people for maintaining physical distancing, inexplicable movement, wearing mask and sanitizing hands in regular intervals. The options which are being used by states to enforce this are Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, Epidemic Disaster Act 1897 and the Indian Penal Code. During Janta curfew, it has been seen that the people have complied all the instructions but some places it was ended in noisy public celebrations. The announcement of lockdown has been made in last minute because of which labours stuffing themselves into the train to return their homes, it may have unwittingly infected others. Many migrant workers are stranded in several places of the country in which they need urgent succour from the Government as they have no option for surviving their lives in cities without doing their works. The pandemic has made a war like moment in the country's history. The governments have a duty to ensure to provide aid especially the most vulnerable classes, economically and socially including the elderly have access to essential articles including medicines, closely where they live. More or less 17% of households rely on casual labour while 55% have tenuous regular employment. Some states have already moved in that direction. The World Health Organization (WHO) has also appreciated the steps which are being followed by China, South, Korea and Singapore for increasing testing facilities to identify the infected people during shutdown. In my point of view:- The government should make all efforts to provide aid to the vulnerable people who are stranded at different places of the country. India should adopt the ways which are being followed by China, South Korea and Singapore to stopping the spreading of the virus. The government should ensure to comply the strict lockdown, given rigorous punishment those who violate the lockdown guidelines. Wearing mask by all must be made compulsory. Officials those who adopt careless attitude during the crucial time, must be suspended and further action for termination from service should be done immediately. India is a populous country after China so we all need to act together whereby we can overcome the virus. We should always keep in mind that "Precaution is better than cure".
