Good evening sir, Today’s motivational quote is “Dream big, stay positive, work hard and enjoy the journey.” Editorial is related to granting remission by the Government of Gujarat to 11 culprits who were involved in the gang-rape of a woman and the murder of people during the riots. In my opinion:- In 2002, a gruesome riot took place in Gujarat in which people were killed in the name of religions. After that, the Apex Court had announced death sentence to 11 culprits who were involved in the gang-rape of a woman and the murder of people during the riots. The verdict was announced on the basis of evidence produced by the survivors. Now, the Government of Gujarat has granted remission in favour of the culprits without consulting the Judiciary and the Central Government which is incomprehensible even there is a provision in the Criminal Procedure that if the State Governments seek remission in favor of culprits, it must approach to the Central Government. However, such decisions have been challenged in the Supreme Court by the public-spirited activists which is a good news for the victims. Besides, Bilkis Bano who is the survivor has not approached the court yet. With the help of this article writer has tried to say three things, first is that the culprits who have been involved in the heinous crime such as rape, murder etc should not be released simply as such decisions give bad effect on the society and second is the Apex Court must come forward and review the illegal decision which has been announced by the Government of Gujarat and last one is to review the current norms related to the rape and murder and if needed, amendment must be done so that strict punishment could be awarded to the culprits. A big problem in our system is that implementation of the norms in letter and spirit, when it functions properly, everything will be fine. Criminal (अपराधी)-one who has committed a crime but their crime is yet to be proved. Accused (आरोपी)-on whom criminal charge has been imposed but still not proved. Guilty (दोषी)-against whom crime has been proved but yet to be sent in jail. Convict(सजायाफ्ता कैदी)-against whom crime has been proved and sent to Jail for sentence.

Now the question arises that whether the remission policy is right or wrong? A dangerous incident was occured in Gujrata in which a girl has been raped by some people..These convicts appealed a plea for the remission..and the Supreme court bench has accepted their petition..The public spirirted activists have raise questions on the premature release of these convicts..These activists have done a great work because this remission is illegal on two basis ..first, the state government should consider with center government on this remission policy..second, the committee that recommended remission consisted of two bjp leaders..This political involvement is not fair..A remission panel should conspire some officials for reconsider the rehabilitation of offenders...This irrational remission is against the human rights of the victims ...This will caste shadow on all the convicts..The convicted people for murede and rape is not suitable candidate for remission because thess crime are very dangerous ..No mercy shoul be shown on these types of criminals ...They are not suitable candidates for remission ..
