What a load of shit. Most of these scams that show presents are written up by the show's scriptwriters. How? They are weak storylines, for example how did they get an empty house? Especially a furnished one? They'd have to break into it to obtain it. Which turns the scam and break and enter into a bigger crime. The marks are actors too.

Wouldn't work now, just Google the reg plate, makes it a lot easier to check tax and insurance as well as the model and make so you can't just switch reg plates

Even in the days of tax discs you didn't normally need the V5 to renew the tax; I would have queried that. And not one of the punters asked to see the service book or request a test drive?? Plus why go to the expense of hiring a car and removing all the evidence if they're swapping the plates? Any car would do if they're pricing it attractively enough. Finally, all that work and organisation for 300 quid each, really??

always do a hpi check and if you type in the letter on the number plate it will tell you what car it's registered to. So if this is a rental car the letter on the number plate wouldn't be registered to it! a couple of pounds for a hpi check could save you hundreds or thousands of pounds.

This happened to me in Africa from someone I thought I could trust. A Jaguar, I gave one thousand UK pounds deposit. Long story short.The day I was to collect it, pay the balance and get the paperwork it never arrived in fact the car was sold on deposits three times and the seller had left the country. So there you go. Careful who you trust.

Were you not paying attention? They say at the beginning the hustlers change the plate numbers to fake ones. The beginning shot shows actual plates in the process of being changed. Every shot afterwards has the new fake plates, meaning there is no need for censorship.

But look very very close at 0:00. the plate number is "KM05 CUG" And if you also look at 0:12 when they do that panning shot you can tell that this is that plate number as well. What i don't understand is even when they did change the plate i didn't see one shot at all where they showed the "fake number plate on said ford brand car. Also The only time they show a different plate number is with a different type of ford car as well as different colour one at 5:22. Even after then changed the plate number they still took the time to censor everything out. It was only these two time codes at 0:00 and at 5:22 (and they only last for a few frames) where you see two what i assume "legit" plate numbers.
