I’m so incredibly happy for you both! I’ve been a subscriber for 3-4 yrs. I took a break from social media for a couple of years & then today I clicked on this. Until this video I didn’t realize what happened to you in 2008. My parents lost 75% of their pension. 2015 was the beginning of the end for our business bc of the steel market crash. We owned a salvage yard. In 2019 we finally let everything go. We lost everything but our home. For 3 yrs I struggled with depression, anger & resentment. I refused to hope & dream about our future. I didn’t trust in anything. Recently I’ve gradually started to dream again. My husband is out working 60+ hrs a week to get us back on track. We also want a small home in Florida. We still have some debt from the business but will be paid off with in a couple years. We have no credit cards & all money goes toward paying off the debt. We’re 57. When you said your age my eyes lit right up. “There’s still hope”! I yelled. “If they can do it then so can we”! During the 3+ years of depression I became a hoarder of furniture to refurbish, fabric to bake quilts, thousands of Knick knacks. My home, garage & storage trailers are full of STUFF! Only about 10% is important. It’s time. I’ve thought back & forth about making videos on how to let go of The Stuff. Material & mental/emotional. Dosing is possibly what I call it. Declutter, organize & simplify. I now have a booth in a vintage mall/store. The $ goes toward the debt. Then hopefully the Florida home! This video has given me hope again. Thank you thank you for making this video ❤️ God Bless 🙏🏻

My husband & I have never given up & now are debt free and living a simple happy life. You can do it too...don't give up! Sending hugs & love. Theresa from Florida PS I really hope your dream of getting a Florida home happens.

You two are a delight. Interesting content, winning personalities, charm, honestly, faithfulness and willingness to share your lives and encourage the rest of us. My husband and I have been married 54 years, we travel the country in our RV. That was our retirement dream. No debt and a wonderful marriage. We have had a couple health challenges and with God's Grace we have managed to still enjoy our blessed lives. Maybe one day, we can meet up when we winter in Florida. ❤️

I had to laugh as the tiny house and Liz in her Christmas shirt, I remember that and with the mushrooms can. I just remember thinking how cold you must be as we too have cold and winters without power at times. No Fun! Congratulations on the mortgage and how wonderful a feeling it is! I know it well. We are ten years your senior, so debt free is about an unreal dream but we too managed to make it and I would never go back. It does give you determination and strength other than physical strength to accomplish but it can be done. God bless and thank you both for all you have shared and continue to do! :-)

I can't believe I've been watching you two 8 years already! I remember every memory you showed in this video. Amazing how time flies. I also believe your channel was one that I resonated with back then and feeling God say "get ready prep now" and so goad I began back then. When covid hit we were pretty well off with many preps and never had to leave the house much. Thankfully I retired right before in Jan 2020. 🙏 Hubby lost his job due to refusing the💉 and my daughter a young nurse got a religious exemption. So God protected us all during that whole debacle. Praise Him for that. 🙏 This was awesome to go back and revive some great memories! Thank you. 💖

I have been watching since the tiny house prepper era and you two still don't disappoint in the videos and the subjects! To me, Live simple is living below or within your means and thinking ahead. Gardening, canning, freezing, dehydrating, buying stuff only when on sale and stocking up if possible makes the grocery store trips much faster and easier and the savings has been tremendous. Not to mention I know exactly what is in my food and it's much better tasting and healthy. Keep smiling!

I remember your video warning people of another crash. We moved our assets into more secure stocks and frantically starting preserving, I say we , but back then it really was me with some mocking from Hubby. We made it through OK and didn't lose as much as some family members did. Hubby finally saw the light and helped me "restock" for the next decline and COVID... We are just now getting to the bottom of the stash just in time for another financial crisis. The other day I panicked at all the empty shelves in the garage/pantry and realized that we still have 2 years of food... Thank you Bill & Elizabeth,

I don't remember when I first watched your videos. I think it was pretty near the start of your channel. In those days, i didn't subscribe to anyone's channel, LOL. The one video i remembered was about the furnace in your trailer and the one for the rocket stove. I had experienced a 3-day outage when an early snow storm shut everything down in my county. I was alone at the time, so everything fell to me to keep the household going. I had an electric stove then (came with the house), and i figured until i could save the money for the necesssry kitchen renovations to convert to a gas stove, i was going to find other cooking options. I had heard of rocket stoves and looked on YT to see how to build one. That's when i saw yours snd remembered you, so i watched it and realized we shared a lot of the same values, beliefs, and outlooks. It's amazing to see how much has happened in your lives over the last nine years! I could say the same for mine. 😊

We have learned a lot about construction, whether we use it or not, still good to know, and a pleasure to watch a master craftsman. Elizabeth is so pleasant to watch and I enjoy her input. By watching her purchases for Florida house, I can tell she's like me in that when spending, and I tell my husband, "it doesn't take much to make me happy"--simple purchases bring happiness too. Also, really appreciate you sharing Jesus! Your two houses are nice and am glad you met your goal, very wise planning. Thank you for sharing.

I got out of the army long before we started our channel. I grew up in PA. Then joined the army and traveled the world (stationed in Colorado, Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Germany and Korea) After many years of the army and world travel, we went back to PA in 1999 to join my parents in their construction business.
