I’m so incredibly happy for you both! I’ve been a subscriber for 3-4 yrs. I took a break from social media for a couple of years & then today I clicked on this. Until this video I didn’t realize what happened to you in 2008. My parents lost 75% of their pension. 2015 was the beginning of the end for our business bc of the steel market crash. We owned a salvage yard. In 2019 we finally let everything go. We lost everything but our home. For 3 yrs I struggled with depression, anger & resentment. I refused to hope & dream about our future. I didn’t trust in anything. Recently I’ve gradually started to dream again. My husband is out working 60+ hrs a week to get us back on track. We also want a small home in Florida. We still have some debt from the business but will be paid off with in a couple years. We have no credit cards & all money goes toward paying off the debt. We’re 57. When you said your age my eyes lit right up. “There’s still hope”! I yelled. “If they can do it then so can we”! During the 3+ years of depression I became a hoarder of furniture to refurbish, fabric to bake quilts, thousands of Knick knacks. My home, garage & storage trailers are full of STUFF! Only about 10% is important. It’s time. I’ve thought back & forth about making videos on how to let go of The Stuff. Material & mental/emotional. Dosing is possibly what I call it. Declutter, organize & simplify. I now have a booth in a vintage mall/store. The $ goes toward the debt. Then hopefully the Florida home! This video has given me hope again. Kim...I so sorry your family went through that. However, so happy you are rebuilding a happier life. I am 72 and too have had many bad things happen to me. My husband & I have never given up & now are debt free and living a simple happy life. You can do it too...don't give up! Sending hugs & love. My husband and I have been married 54 years, we travel the country in our RV. That was our retirement dream. No debt and a wonderful marriage. We have had a couple health challenges and with God's Grace we have managed to still enjoy our blessed lives. Maybe one day, we can meet up when we winter in Florida. ❤️

I believe the rocket stove video was the 1st video I saw. I remember Elizabeth giving the tour of the tiny house, and early videos of the move to Virginia. Blessings from Susan in Canada……… 🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻. ps: I loved all of your videos each and everyone of them but my favourites were of you cooking and I could smell it through my iPad and I loved it when Bill and you bought that little mini furnace and then you moved up to a bigger size. I also remember the challenges with the trailer with water coming in and the mould and the roof top of the trailer. I remembered when your trailer door would freeze up. I feel that your biggest gift really was when you got the mini furnace. I remember you both saying that when you woke up it was about 54 to 57° in the trailer. I know that could not have been easy. However you both remained positive and never gave up….ever! I’m so happy for you both. We just have to work on Elizabeth‘s health. I pray for you all the time. I’m still not back at work but I don’t think I’ll be going back anymore. I think I may be a little older than Elizabeth and it’s time for me to enjoy my life. I worked since I was 5 years of age. I was actually thinking of doing some thing on KZbin. But I really have to look into it. I absolutely love interior design and I have so many clothes I mean beautiful beautiful expensive clothes from my days working in a very well paying job. I will be selling them as I bought a mannequin but I will sell them online just for safety reasons really. Who knows where I’ll end up. I’ll bet you never thought you’d have a house where you are and one in Florida. The one thing I did admire about both of you was your faith in God, you’re amazing relationships with your family. It could not have been an easy transition but I really believe you both have been blessed and deserve it so much. Lots and lots of love and blessings to you and your family once again. My husband and 14 year old son decided to downsize and sell out expensive high taxes home and we bought a 30 ft class C rv. We traveled for a year deciding what we wanted to do next. I can appreciate you guys living in 250 sq feet for several years. We lived in our class C 150 sq foot “home” , 3 adults and 2 dogs. We made it. And I think it helped all our relationships. We now have built our own home and been living in it for 7 years now. No debt either 😁

I remember your video warning people of another crash. We moved our assets into more secure stocks and frantically starting preserving, I say we , but back then it really was me with some mocking from Hubby. We made it through OK and didn't lose as much as some family members did. Hubby finally saw the light and helped me "restock" for the next decline and COVID... We are just now getting to the bottom of the stash just in time for another financial crisis. The other day I panicked at all the empty shelves in the garage/pantry and realized that we still have 2 years of food... Thank you Bill & Elizabeth,

I'm in a place I have considered to have boondockers stay at our place as my shed, used to have a toilet and shower in it. And there's room for parking on 3 acres. I'm able to network and meeting more great persons every day. My garden is in its beginning stages but doing well...So am l. I must say you kept me going during some dark moments and trying to figure out where that door with the light peaking through was and where it would lead...

I started watching you in 2016 after retiring 12/31/15 and started watching KZbin. I have enjoyed watching you since--the variety is nice and I appreciate that you are down-to-earth. We have learned a lot about construction, whether we use it or not, still good to know, and a pleasure to watch a master craftsman. Elizabeth is so pleasant to watch and I enjoy her input. By watching her purchases for Florida house, I can tell she's like me in that when spending, and I tell my husband, "it doesn't take much to make me happy"--simple purchases bring happiness too. I moved from NH, 16 years ago to VA. In one of your videos when you two lived in the tiny house in PA. You stuck a note? About the future, it's like you hit the nail on the head. Now there's allot of uncertainty in this world 🌎 as we speak. Bill your a smart financial advisor. Elizabeth you have such a beautiful voice. I got out of the army long before we started our channel. I grew up in PA. Then joined the army and traveled the world (stationed in Colorado, Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Germany and Korea) After many years of the army and world travel, we went back to PA in 1999 to join my parents in their construction business.

I was brought up the way you are living now, and now I do the same thing. My parents instilled in us, you don’t buy what you can’t afford, you save up for it. A lot of things we had were second hand, or thrifted as it’s called nowadays! The only things we had that wasn’t second hand were mattresses and what my grandmother would say unmentionables. When my dad retired, and can afford it he started buying things new. My dad invested his money wisely, and my parents lived comfortably in their retirement years. They were snowbirds, used to spend their winter months in Hutchinson Island, Florida. Now I’m close to retirement age in England and US, using my pay check basically as my pension. Plus will be able to receive my full US pension in two years. We’re now mortgage free, just have to pay utility bills and the normal things. I enjoy watching your vlogs, you seem to have the same values as my parents and me and my family have.

I can't believe I've been watching you two 8 years already! I remember every memory you showed in this video. Amazing how time flies. I also believe your channel was one that I resonated with back then and feeling God say "get ready prep now" and so goad I began back then. When covid hit we were pretty well off with many preps and never had to leave the house much. Thankfully I retired right before in Jan 2020. 🙏 Hubby lost his job due to refusing the💉 and my daughter a young nurse got a religious exemption. So God protected us all during that whole debacle. I'm a long time viewer. I love watching all of your life journeys. I especially like the kitchen videos; renovation, cooking, decorating with new bits and bobs, etc. I'd love to see more of Elizabeth sewing/quilting/creating. I enjoyed watching her make the fabric bowls in the tiny house, also quilting with her sister. I'd like to see more cooking videos on how you use the thrive life food. That is intriguing to me. The Florida house videos are some of my favorites; how you turned an uninviting house when you first visited it, to a warm and cozy living space. I'm anxious to see more of the Florida house, its surroundings, and what you do while there. Hugs from another Floridian.

I remember the good old days with the tiny house. The other day I was on another website and I saw a commercial and you two were in it.. Pretty cool. It was for Addmotor Bikes. I guess you have probably seen it. Take care.

No, we have not seen that commercial, and we did not know about it. However, as part of our contract with Addmotor, we know that they are using our video and many pictures that we sent them in their advertising as well.

wow Elizabeth you look so pretty in the red top in 2008,,hope you're taking care of yourself and working out to stay healthy... you're a fine couple together for many years ahead of you do...we have too in our 80's,,like NO breads for lunch hour,,only fruits,nuts and veggies..and lots of spring water. Healthy living! it's worth it.
