Ethan - I second that, their voices are in perfect harmony together. The reason I hate when people give credit to one more than the other, to me both voices were amazing and complemented each other perfectly.
@Ethan-en2ij
@Ethan-en2ij 5 жыл бұрын
Maya A Right? People tend to get to Agnetha more, but you really need both to give it a better feel. They fit to together so perfectly. I like Frida’s more, idk why, but I love when she sings lower than Agnetha, she has such a powerful and rich voice. I guess that’s what you get when learning from an opera singer. Agnetha’s sounds more innocent and high and I guess people like that more, but that’s just me. However, both of them are needed, every band member is an essential part of ABBA. Björn, Benny, Agnetha, and Frida

Wow, I was expecting a little bit of take down by Mojo, but this is good. For young people who don't know about ABBA, this is a great 8 minute introduction. Abba is like the Beatles, as one day you start listening, and realising how amazing wonderful the music and harmonies are.

At the time, I was pretty neutral on Abba. But they were pretty widely despised, as were many such groups like Donny and Marie, and Capt and Tennille. They were sort of like the Mamas and Papas, but with less talent, much less quirkiness, and inferior vocals. But they weren't awful by any means.
@jonathancomer7069
@jonathancomer7069 7 жыл бұрын
LOL I was strictly rock back then, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, etc. but there were also many ABBA songs on my reel to reel. They were a group with a very unique sound and the vocals were second to none with Frida's mezzo and Agnetha's soprano voice blending in perfect harmony in a wall of sound. It is easy to understand why they are the 3rd best selling super group of all time.

Sounds like it is with Me when I’m Playing their Music or Other Classic Artists. That’s not Our Problems! They just don’t have Good Taste. I will always Love the 70s and ABBA was One of those Bands that Made the 70s. 😎😊🎶

Make no mistake about it, this group has had huge influence and is a major factor in popular music history. They deserve their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame award. They greatly influenced musical attitudes in Britain, Australia and Europe, and topped the charts in the U.S. They rank right there with the Beatles, Stones, Mamas and Papas, Fleetwood Mac, Supremes, Miracles, Four Tops, etc., and early days of the Beach Boys. They were (and still are) a super group.

Pointless fact: Frida’s big break on Swedish TV came the same day that Sweden switched to driving on the right.

The group is much better than the rather shallow history served up in this video.

David Kelso It's a KZbin video not a documentary. It's ment to be an introduction to younger people that don't know anything about them, not an in depth breakdown.

Isabella Colon I’m only 13, but if you really want to teach, then give a better introduction, such a little amount of info here. It’s a good one, but it’s so rushed and hardly gets into the depths of their career.

Agreed. The four of them & their talents were so underestimated. Their contribution to the music & theater scene, across multiple continents, is truly timeless. Thank you for the music & the memories! :)

I simply can't believe that every song that Benny and Bjorn wrote and that Agnetha and Anna sang didn't race to top ticket every, I mean EVERY time. There was, is not, and NEVER will be a pop group like them ever again. I am 61 years old and still swoon to every tune, every note.

I am a huge fan. I have all their original albums on vinyl. I was 14 when they hit in America with Waterloo, and I saw them live in Chicago on their world tour in 1979. My best friend's family was Swedish and we would get import singles and albums from them. To me, they are still the best, and 'The Visitors' album proves they could have extended their career in the 80's if they had chosen to.

ABBA was a magnificent group! I have their 'ABBA NUMBER ONES' CD, has 18 of their songs that became #1! It was quite the shame that Bjorn turning around and divorcing Agnetha triggered the break-up of their group! :(
