@@Moana_moo Rihanna, I'm more so talking about women who have 4C hair. Society makes you ashamed of this hair type because it's so kinky and we can barely wear it out the way that it is without someone having a negative (slave-created, traumatic) reaction to it to make you feel ashamed of it. I am saying to those sistas to not be ashamed and wear it kinky (nappy as they call it from the old days) without hiding it out of being embarrassed and ashamed by it. Most women are hiding it verses them just wanting a little diversity.

classicanimal this video was not racist, and gurl I was not speaking on what type of hair whites wear, what it looks like, and the texture. I am saying that yeah, (hair is hair) but a black woman with hair is more than just hair. I was pointing out that even if a black women wears her hair in a protective style, it will always be “unprofessional”.

Sierra.is.a qt you know that Africans had braids way before slavery right? Cornrows didn’t start during that period. North africans had cornrows and box braids too and they don’t consider themselves black. My paternal grandpa is 75% Morrocan and 25% nigerian and trust me he told me that North africans don’t consider themselves black. African braids started before Christ era. North Africans had cornrows and black Africans had cornrows. They actually started in Ethiopia though. I read about cornrows and these are facts. Yes cornrows hold deep history for African americans due to slavery but they didn’t start during that period. They started long before. Honey, do you know what it means to have 4c hair. It takes me 2 days completely devoted to my wash day routing I'm not exaggerating. Then ones a month, if you're like me and has short hair and no wig, you have to sit for 7 hrs or more straight to weave of hair and of course pay.

I needed to hear that today as I finally took out the weave and considering trying to figure out my hair because I had a white Mama who didn't know how to do my hair and no black people to help. It all makes sense now why our hair is literally SO INTELLIGENT!

classicanimal but having straight hair isn’t a culture
@yaagirlmaddy49914 жыл бұрын
classicanimal first of all straight hair isn’t culture, straight hair isn’t what helped the people in your culture survive. Try again and Black people can be born with naturally straight hair

The baddie Periodt African Americans cannot be born with straight hair.
