Yeah I loved how in sf4 a lot of his combos are actually kinda hard to time right, and not at all worth it. It is so fitting to the character, putting in all your effort just for the better character to instantly stop it 😅

Great video mate, as always. Just so you know, Judo Gene LeBelle was known for his pink gi, which he claimed was a result of having accidentally added a red garment into his laundry. Gene went on to teach Bruce Lee grappling, as well as being on of Ronda Rousey’s mentors. She also adapted his iconic pink gi. Ronda was way after Dan's first appearance but the story behind Dan's pink gi seems likely linked to Gene,

Please forgive me, but I believe you forgot to mention the “otoko michi” or “manly path” the sort of Raging Demon satire move that Dan uses in the crossover games, he dashes forward grabs the opponent and blows up himself along with the opponent. Perfection *kisses fingers*

In the manwa (Chinese comic)based off snk versus capcom: SvC Chaos he has an interesting story, were Akuma ends up making him more powerful in order to have a more powerful rival to train so he can defeat Mr. Karate, so he ends up being much more powerful but is later tossed aside by Akuma quite easily anyway.

I think it’s cool that he’s a goof yet his story had a big impact on the main characters that we think back on .. I love Playing wit Sagat and knowing the scar on his chest was done by Ryu was cool .. but then finding out that it was Dan’s father made Sagat were they Eyepatch is really cool too .. that’s a huge part of Sagat’s character and Dan’s had that connection to the story .. really cool

Funny you should mention Dan being the "Mr. Satan" of Street Fighter. The popular Internet show "Death Battle!" actually has Mr. Satan go up against Dan Hibiki to see which joke character would win against the other based on their "feats" and "abilities." I won't spoil who wins, but it's a very entertaining video.

Great video! Since his first appearance, Dan has been my #3. Ryu is my boy, followed by Sakura. saikyo!!! :3(love his voice actor in 4-5 actually 1st appeared in the parody street fighter high looking very spot on like the saikyo master.) love how much of a playful parody of snk dan is(especially him and fellow joke character joe higashi being the focus of capcom vs. snk 2's pro edition & both winning the tournament while everyone was busy fighting rugal/akuma.),his rather sad(especially in the comics where he gets revenge but only wants his father back that really hit home to me.) backstory of sagat killing his father(that's still pretty badass that his pop is why sagat has the eyepatch.sagat really has bad luck with shoto characters.lol) that did have him help sagat become a good guy not letting revenge overtake them, how really funny he was in 4(reminded me a lot of a goofier sokka.:3) with him missing out 2's events(weird ultra didn't add him,karin,r. mika or sakura.) and barely entering the tournament with his funny commentary in 5's shop and how more of a helpful friend to ryu he is in the comics(especially teaming up with the other street fighter characters to save ryu from gill actually getting a few hits that i'd love to see the games adapt for 6.:3) along with his funny friendship with sakura & blanka. and was one of my favorite parts of the alpha ova's(had the only good fight scene and wished his friendship with sakura happened in the tournament after she goes to the hospital considering the brutal mauling vega gave him/the 2 and birdie being the only alpha characters relevant to the movie.).

It's been hinted at; though never confirmed, that Sagat PURPOSELY threw the match with Dan, because of some sort of guilt with what happened with Dan's father. Sagat COULD'VE easily killed Dan, but chose not to; allowing Dan to obtain the vengeance, and atoning for his actions

Dude, the guys who made Street Fighter (1987) left Capcom in 1989 to work with SNK. In 1991, they created Fatal Fury: The King of Fighters (1991) and Art of Fighting (1992). In 1989, they possibly created Street Smarts (1989).

Dan could've went around the world, training in different dojos, learning different fighting styles, so he could put all the knowledge together to develop the TRUE Saikyo Style as a combination of the best parts of multiple different fighting styles. It'd just take him a LOT of time.. And a LOT of money. I mean, hey, if he had the potential to learn anything from Gouken then he definitely has the potential to learn other fighting styles.

Dan is a mix between even more fighters, his triple hitting flying kick is very similar to Mizoguchi's flying kick combo (Data East's Fighters History series). But I don't know if there is any connection, maybe it's just a coincidence.

I loved playing as Dan in Puzzle Fighter because I was a lot better at the game than my friends. The handicap level of playing as Dan is hilarious in Puzzle Fighter ... he ONLY drops red gems on his opponent, meaning you generate humongous blocks of red which will utterly destroy you unless you swamp the enemy really quickly.
