I'm wondering why people are dumb enough to believe in the Yamnaya culture seeing as no old school history books talk about them. It is obviously an invention to steal credit from nomad steppe peoples like the Scythians. I think as soon as someone calls themselves experts then they can make up whatever they want and resentful people easily believe it.

The strange thing is that we compare 55 million Rome with 3-4 million people from dozens of tribes led by a small military elite (the Huns). The only serious explanation is internal disintegration, with the final blow being delivered by the Huns.

Not for long, but for that time period it was pretty insane, there were numerous massive empires before Rome though, Armenia, The Ottoman Empire (lasted for 700 years), Sassanid Empire, Kush, Egypt and many other Middle Eastern/Persian empires lasted hundreds of years.

@@LaVaZ000 Actually none of the Empires you mentioned lasted anywhere near like the Romans did. From 753 BC to 1453 AD. That is almost 2100 years years. The Ottomans lasted 600 years - not 700. Sassanids even less. Egypt not even close. The only ones that can compare to the Romans are the Chinese.

@@robotube7361 Carthaginian *Empire*, not Carthage itself, lasted for more than 550 years, the Egyptian empire lasted for 460 years, The Hittite Empire lasted for 420 years, Babylonian Empire lasted for 330 years, The Assyrian Empire lasted for 1,420 years, and the oldest empire in the world, the Akkadian Empire, lasted for 200 years. Remember, these were all *Empires* (no Republics/City states) which were established centuries before Rome was even properly settled (the last 4 were established whole millenniums before Rome was a thing), and they all lasted as long if not even longer than Rome in their status of an Empire.

After watching this video two things were proved to the world 1. Development extended northwest from present-day Iran and Türkiye 2. There was a civilization in India before 400 BC and it had progressed from the Indus Valley towards Iran, meaning clearly the Dravidians of India are the modern white Europeans of today moved through North India, Iran ( no way for expend other side as there was a Himalaya the only way for Indian was modern Iran for move to the europe) (this is fact the African Plate separated > India 1st civilized on earth>some moved to west and AS todays Europe is not much older then India, World must accept this truth if not today then it will definitely be proved tomorrow). African to Europe true but not directly as the Indian plat along with African lions separated from Africa... and the journey went on

@MrDodo Germany didn't fight a defensive war, it was Austria-Hungary who attacked Russia's ally, little Serbia, because a Serbian nationalist shot the Austrian Hungarian monarch. The Russians attacked A-H for invading their ally, and Germany declared war on Serbia and Russia. France joined against Germany and A-H because Germany was attacking France's important ally, Russia. The war kept raging on until Germany attacked Belgium to go around France's defenses and thus The UK declared war on Germany for attacking a neutral country. Also about the US, they kept supplying the allies so Germany sent a telegram to Mexico, basically telling Mexico to attack America. The UK found the ship carrying Germany's message so they showed it to the US. The US then declared war on Germany. Austria Hungary deserved what it got, not their people but A-H themselves

It's actually arguable that Northern Wales was the last bastion of the Western Roman Empire as the Romans nor the British officially declared an end to the Roman province. Troops were only withdrawn, with England being the only area carved up by the Saxons. Not until 1284 was Wales finally conquered.

Phhhhhh, that was such an emotional journey! I can't imagine a more exciting video of simple moving lines&colours! I need to watch a series where this entire history is told in an entertaining way, Game of Thrones style, involving every ethnic tribe, Kingdom, country and Empire in Europe and surroundings. That would be such an epic series, if done well!

@goldpain4302 It all depends on how detailed you want to be. The Game of Thrones series massively condensed a vast source material in books that aren't even finished yet. The world in that story isn't very different from ours in terms of scale. Of course here's we're talking about 2000 years of human history so naturally we won't be following the same characters from beginning to end. But if someone is creative enough, I imagine there's still ways to do it. For instance imagine each country as an individual character or a family of characters. The 2000 years could be represented as a span of a couple of generations for example. It would be fun to do.

@@KarrieDreammind5 In the Game of Thrones, the world is very different from ours in terms of scale, Martin has only 2 continents well-written, and about 10 nations, I have long come to the conclusion that more than one writer has not come up with a world close in scale to real history. We need a History Professor in the role of a fantasy writer! hahaha

@@goldpain4302 Of course, I'm not saying it's the same. But worlds on huge scales have been built by numerous writers, including the LOTR universe, the Star Wars universe, etc. None of them are as elaborate as the real world, but I imagine a really good writer might be able to 'scale down' the real world to make it fit into a story. And let's say focus on one continent only, instead of the world. Like this video - do European history in a new HBO/Netflix/Amazon/whatvr series. I'd watch it.

@@romaingillet2526 That’s wrong. The old confederation of the swiss cantons (an union of very small states), which has its origin probably in 1291, was technically part of the holy roman empire until 1648. After that the old confederation was somewhat independent. In 1799 they got invaded by Napoleon/france which formed the helvetic republic out of the cantons. After the downfall of Napoleon, the cantons got their neutrality guaranteed in 1814 at the Congress of Vienna. It was done to have a buffer zone between austria, italy, germany and france. After some Dispute and a short civil war between the cantons, the country as we know today was finally created in 1848.

@@ottokaare5925 Yes, though not as much as it had been. Regardless, it's very interesting that you've just mentioned this. I was reading about occupied territory yesterday. I was trying to find out at which point occupied territory becomes that country. Correct me if I am wrong, but according to the Geneva Convention, which was established after WWII, occupied territory never becomes the occupier's territory. In other words, 'right of conquest' no longer exists. To me, there is a great disconnect between this international law and the reality of situations where territory is taken from one country and possessed by another. For instance, if an entire country becomes occupied by another, does it not become the country that occupies it? International law denies this; however, I suspect that the reality of such a situation would be very different.

@@SuperSmileyTom " according to the Geneva Convention, which was established after WWII" you mean the UN? The Geneva agreements originated in 1864 (updated after WW2). But it's all empty as always, look at Gaza today, not the UN nor the Geneva Conventions can stop genocide... the only reason why there was no major war in Europe and no border changes is because USA and USSR occupied Europe and achieved balance of power (and nuclear fear). That was somewhat changed after 1991. with numerous wars in territories not occupied by the USA Empire. That's the only 'law'. Like Pax Romana.

Is it because of population numbers that the Frisians are left unmentioned? Frisians had an area from the North West of the Netherlands up to North Germany and half Denmark. In the German and Danish parts of today there are still people who speak in a dialect that have a lot of similarities with the Frisian language. Today the Frisian language ( which btw have commonalities with old English ) is mainly spoken in the Northern province Friesland of the Netherlands. Today Frisian is the second official language in the Netherlands. But I believe there are less than a million people who speak Frisian on a daily base. But since Friesland has an history of it own apart from the Netherlands I more or less to see that represent in the video.

@@victorangel_naranjo2178 Napoléon lied ? When ? About what ? And he didn't attacked the Spanish, the Spanish attacked the French. It was part of a treaty that some french soldiers could guard the spanish ports to stop the british smugglers and to prevent any landing in Spain by the British Army. But some brigands, desertors, prisoners and fanatics started to massacre every major of Spanish cities to bring anarchy, started to kill all the people loyal to the King and any authority, started to kill all the french soldiers defending their ports. So Napoléon sent troops to Madrid to stop the anarchists, proposed the Spanish King and some parliamentarians to hide in Bayonne (France) and started negociations to make revolutionary reforms in Spain to please those insurgents, but in peace. Those insurgents/anarchists didn't want peace, they started to kill all the spanish honest civilians who were opposed to anarchy, so the french army marched on whole Spain. *Napoléon didn't attack, he only defended his ally, the Spanish crown* .

Yes, because roman armies march in legions, so it takes time to reach big distances and then you need to subjugate the living population under roman rule. Germany had planned for their invasion for six years from 1933 to 1939 and then Hitler went to execute his plans, but he made some military blunders, like letting the soviets surround his big army in Stalingrad without holding the lines well. Wasting soldiers fighting against in Russia in winter and he should have started his war operations against Russia in april, so thats how he was also defeated quickly with his military blunders.
@kaiohshin2322
@kaiohshin2322 5 ай бұрын
@@jout738 The biggest sin Hitler committed was trusting the English after absolutely decimating the soviet army, which was ready to invade Europe. He protected Europeans as a whole. Instead of thanks however, the Germans had to suffer the weight of the entire world. Capitalists helped the communists to get their war machine operational again - they provided them with all the iron, oil and capital they needed. Then, capitalists and marxists joined hands to destroy Germany. It took them six years to destroy a nation the size of Texas. They call this a 'victory.' Capitalism and marxism are two sides of the same coin; and because National Socialism posed a threat to both of these soul-crushing systems it had to die. Now, through movies and peculiar publishers, we are being told by 'gods chosen people' that the Germans wanted to lord over us as a masterrace. Absolutely ludicrous.

This is why it's hard for anyone of European ancestry (like me) to have an understanding of their national ancestry. The borders were forever changing. Just to cite one example, a single portion of the Baltic changed between Prussia, Poland, Lithuania and Russia multitudinously over the centuries. Assuming your ancestors stayed in that one place throughout the duration, what were they? Granted, some regions were more isolated from migrations of population than others, but I imagine there are very few single-ethnicity persons of European stock in the 21st century. Even my grandparents, supposedly each from four "intact" national backgrounds, were not what they thought they were. And that's only checking back 6 or 7 generations with DNA. Who knows what they were 10 or 15 or 20 generations previously?
