However, in 2008 all 13 Arizona locations pulled out of the state, leaving locals to ponder: What happened to Fazoli's.

The first place I encountered Fazoli's was in Missouri. It was awesome... It is the ONLY fast food Italian fast food I've had, except for Sbarro.

After they shut down here in AZ, we would eat there every time we visited Missouri. There’s one on the way to Branson from Springfield so we’d stop by after flying in.

Had it once and never will have it again. Everything is Italian food these days according to people. Even dominos is in some peoples minds. Sad!

American Italian is far removed from it’s roots. Fazoli’s is closer to that but I don’t think anyone is eating there for authenticity. I have fond memories of it as a kid and the new restaurants are nicer than the ones I used to go to. I won’t take it over an authentic Italian food from a local restaurant, but I will take it over McDonald’s. I’m with you on dominos though, I swear the pizza gets worse every time I go there. It’s not real Italian food by any stretch, but it is convenient and that’s why people buy it.
