@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries , my first experience with wrestling was honestly the old CWA Championship Wrestling that came out of Memphis, Tennessee, USA in the 1970s and 1980s. While everyone else focused on the Saint Louis, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Houston/Galveston professional wrestling scenes back in the day, they honestly overlooked just how important that Memphis was to professional wrestling, not just to the USA, but also worldwide. I mean, you had people that either came from, or would go on to, one, or more, of the big name professional wrestling organizations worldwide, like NWA/WCW, WWF, AWA, WCCW, AAA, CMLL, AJPW, NJPW, FMAW, ECW, etc.

Definitely did not expect this as Fire Pro is super niche. Very pleased to see you mentioned Pro Wrestling on NES as being a Fire Pro progenitor, talking about who I consider the father of the modern wrestling video game, Masato Masuda and Suda 51's involvement in the series. Suda is a huge wrestling fan and often incorporates wrestling related content in his other games. Looking forward to the next part of the series. I started with Fire Pro at X Premium on emulator, but Fire Pro Wrestling G was my first import game ever and I imported every Fire Pro since. I believe it was also the first game Tomoyuki Matsumoto worked on. He would become the director of Fire Pro Wrestling World and kept in touch with the community during the ups and downs of development. He worked with Masuda on Fire Pro G and knew him up until his passing and said it took five years of pitching Fire Pro Wrestling World to Spike-Chunsoft higher ups to finally get Fire Pro Wrestling World put into development. Even then he would get hamstrung several times by management who would steal members of his development team and replace them with members who did not know what was going causing a lot of turmoil and slowing development time down. Will you also cover Fire Pro's cousin series AJPW King's Soul and the King of Colosseum series? There is also a Fire Pro connection to the famous N64 AKI series as devs who worked on Fire Pro games would form AKI. I often say there is Fire Pro DNA in the AKI games. On Twitter Matsumoto says he would like to do a new Fire Pro game, but it would not be in the classic 2d format anymore as Fire Pro World marked the end of an era in the classic 2d style.
@paxhumana20152 жыл бұрын
Hmm, I honestly did not know that the Fire Pro Wrestling and THQ/AKI games were related. What source do you have to cite such things? Honestly, people that are arguing about those games not being better than Fire Pro Wrestling are morons.
@paxhumana20152 жыл бұрын
I would say this to Matsumoto...let me give him ideas to improve the franchise and he can make it in the classic 2D style, as there still is a huge audience for such games, even in Japan.

@Wallywood187, did you actually help to develop the game personally?
@Wallywood1872 жыл бұрын
@@paxhumana2015 no, but I have the record for most parts craft items created on PS4/PS5 and PC. If you’ve downloaded custom edits that use custom parts. There’s like a 95% chance you’ve got some of my parts and or 5% chance you’ve downloaded stolen parts others have tried to claim of mine as their own. :)

Just discovered this franchise, wish I knew about it during the PS2 era. These import games were pretty hard to find in my country back then.

@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries Really loving the gameplay so far. But I do think the user interface isn't optimal for console, I think I'll swap to the PC version. Thanks for the history lesson btw.

I've still never played the PC Engine games, but I own and have played all of the Super Famicom ones except the Joshi games. I'd read about them online for years, but the first one I ever got to play was the first Game Boy Advance game. Suffice to say, it was amazing, and I've since gone on to import not just most of the Fire Pro games, but lots of other Japanese wrestling games as well. Fire Pro remains one of the very best, but there's a lot of other great stuff out there too.

I never understood the whole “timing” aspect of it. There was never any audio or visual cue of when to push anything so I just couldn’t get into it.

@@jotakux7489 Yes, you have to start with week grapples first and then move up to the more stronger grapples after your opponent is weakened

It's all in the timing and definitely not a button masher. There are plenty of tutorials on KZbin showing you how to do it but it just takes practice
