The History of Fleetway Super Sonic - updated audio version! Its been requested by quite a few and here it is. This version is a bit longer by nearly 2 minutes compared to the original as speaking the text takes a bit longer than simply reading it. I've also been able to correct some mistakes and errors from the original. Thank you for watching! I hope you'll enjoy!
The Complete History of Super Sonic, also known as Fleetway Super Sonic from Egmont Fleetway's Sonic The Comic. From Super Sonic's origin to his final fate, this video will give you the full history of Super Sonic's story in Sonic The Comic. The battles, the insanity, the psychotic sense of humor. A detailed look at Super Sonic's powers and ability's, its safe to say if you want your fix of Super, or are just finding out about him, then this is the video for you! I'd love to hear them. The very first issue I got of Sonic The Comic was issue 27, way back in June 1994. This issue funnily had the origin story of Super Sonic. Up-loaders note: There are two more issues that Super Sonic appears in but seemed irrelevant to this video so I left them out. The first is from issue 122, where Robotnik tricks Hobson and Choy into thinking that Sonic and Super Sonic are the same person. Robotnik shows an image of Super Sonic on a monitor. This is the only panel where Super Sonic is shown in this issue. The second is issue 168 where Sonic and Amy visit a mirror reality of there own Planet Mobius. In this Universe, the Sonic is evil but when he transforms into Super Sonic he becomes good. As this is not the original Super Sonic that relates to this video, I left him out.

I think Excalibur Sonic would still be interesting if it worked the same way as in the game. For the comics it'd probably be the first time Sonic had gained a power equal or close enough to Super Sonic while still being in complete control. Not only that but he would earn it through his own will power and beliefs unlike Super Sonic where it was kinda forced upon him by accident.

What if I made everyone feel sick and said that side might have entirely been a show so he could eventually recover his powers? Well... probably not actually. Considering other parts of this, I'm not sure why he'd wait around like that to actually use his powers once he had them. It might be a stretch, but maybe he was looking to being as much pain and destruction as possible, and waited for what he considered to be the "perfect moment". That sort of waiting was eventually his undoing though... ...assuming any of this theory is even potentially true.

Actually, it makes sense that Super Sonic is how he is. He is basically Chaos Energy, and chaos doesn't necessarily mean evil, it means everything and anything is possible. Super Sonic was a being with complicated emotions just as everyone, perfectly balanced in its chaotic way. However he also had immense power. And when you have perfect of good and bad, then add infinite power to the occasion, it seems imminent that the power would corrupt the person. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. As long as he wasn't using it, he could live his life, but the moment he got a taste of that power, he couldn't justify holding it back anymore.

I'm not really the type to read the Sonic Comics, but holy. shit. This video is so...interesting. Instead of Super Sonic being the savior like in the games, Fleetway!Super Sonic is an entirely different person that is hellbent on literally killing everything. He can't be redeemed, and he certainly can't be changed(well, besides the time where he lost his memory). He's a unstoppable killing machine. I think if this type was implemented in the games, it could certainly make the games more darker.

Okay I to figured out why Fleetway Sonic is evil. It’s simple really, the chaos emeralds had absorbed evil energy that Robotnik had made so he can control the emeralds but Sonic had absorbed the chaos energy which had the same evil energy inside. Fleetway Sonic is made of mostly pure chaos energy, cause ya know, evil energy inside it.

Wait no .originally in the story. The chaos energy was always seen as only a powerful evil and destructive force. Thats what the knuckles clan protect. This guy’s story is honestly tragic. He was an irredeemable monster that caused nothing but destruction. But after an accident, he lost his memory and became a good person. He got a job, made friends, found happiness in life. But eventually, he began dying because this version of him wasn’t meant to be. To try to save him, his friends gave him a dose of energy. This turned him back to his old self, showing his friends that the mind soul they knew sadly wasn’t the real him, leaving them no choice but to kill him. In a way, it makes him all the more hatable, as because of his own nature, he refused to let the kind version of himself flourish. Even though it was unintentional, his story ultimately ended on an open note, leaving us to imagine whether the monster raged forever, or if the kind soul eventually peaked through once more. Elson and Kitching really created something special that even decades later, people are still enthralled with!

It’s only a small headcannon if mine, but I always thought that the Super Sonic we all know was always just Sonic leeching off of Fleetway’s power. He figured out of way to control Fleetway and uses that power for good. That’s why he has such a carefree and optimistic lifestyle; he doesn’t want to get stressed out and released the _real_ Super Sonic. Maybe he’s terrified that if he took anything seriously, he’d inadvertently put everything he cares about at risk. But just as Sonic gets stronger every second, so does Fleetway.... Dun dun dun! Dumb? Yes. Fun? Also yes.

The way the video is read, with the pauses and brief summaries of the pictures by the narrator, make me feel like it's a parent reading a bedtime story to their kid. In a good way. You could have explained that the emerald overload is what made SS more powerful this time around. 17:46, It always made me smile how the end of one issue he says "Amy Rose prepare to meet your doom" as opposed to the adjacent comic, where he flat out says "Amy Rose, prepare to die!" I like how he became a wisecracking villain also "Permission to panic dear friends!" after Amy says "this is no time to panic" Also, no mention of Sonic being trapped in the Special Zone, due to Omni trapping Super? 35:16 I never ever noticed how the shadow of Super Sonic here is the image of the demon from his nightmare. I also never understod how people just didn't twig that he was Super Sonic, despite everyone knowing about him. Thanks for the very long comment! I had to omit some details and tried to keep it solely focused on Super Sonic's story, I mean the video was close to an hour as it was ha. Nigel had future scripts already in the pipe line before he knew STC was to be cancelled. I hope to one day go over them in a video detailing it all.

I read this as a kid, and it really was most compelling to me. No matter what happened, after issue 50 I was just waiting for him to show up again, and then after Running Wild I was 100% hooked and focused on him returning. The writing, such as when Porker freaks out as the Robot head speaks to him, Super Sonic emerging calmly climbing out, saying he needs to destroy...... To me, everything revolved around him after that point. Yes yes, Robotnik, Zachary, Lightmare and her dad, Chaotix, but..... there was Super Sonic. They would tease it by showing Super moving slightly in the Omniviewer, and then saying the next strip would be called Mr Shifter......which had nothing to do with him lol. I understand why they did what they did in issue 100, and to be honest I don't know how else they could have dealt with him here, but I felt like it was a bit anti climatic.

I didn't even realize this video was an hour long ! It felt like it went by in a flash ! You know... I had heard of Fleetway, but I didn't know about his story. Honestly I feel bad now ! I didn't want the nice Super Sonic to die, but at the same time, becoming evil again and trapped inside Sonic.... It's not a good outcome. I would've much preferred if Ebony and Pyjamas did the same thing again and erased his memory of being evil. I wonder why Pyjamas wasn't with Ebony when she tried to save Super Sonic... I'm pretty sure Fleetway Super Sonic inspired Flippy from Happy Tree Friends, in cases of extreme stress and anger they triggered their split personality which in turn is an evil killing monster, they obviously don't revert back to their normal personality until they are calm

that is literally it! SInce StC was in fact an officially licenced Sega comic, they got promo carts of the games as they came out, the guys at the office found Super hard to control in Sonic 2 and based his personality on the skittish controls :)

I didnt think there was so much depth in super sonic as a whole, i love sonic. It was my childhood, a breath nostalgia. But when watching this video, the old but chill and beautiful saturated colors of the comic just breathes nostalgia. Thank you so much for reviewing this. Ive seen this evil entity of sonic before and ive always wanted to find out what happened. Im new to these comics and idk the creator to this comic but hes a top notch genius, usually in sonic games the super form is usually peoples final hope, but in this comic. Its the opposite, thus making the other cast (that gets crapped on in new sonic games) more reliable and i love that, super sonics always on the scene in games and i love how its the antagonist for the whole thing making other characters strategize and gives us better ideas of what the freedom fighters are capable of. Thats good character development and this comic did a wonderful job on it.
