Why is season 2 of Hermitcraft always called season 1? I remember Season 1 with Biffa and GenerikB (probably others but I never watched anyone else back then), and then they stopped it for after a few episodes for whatever reason, after that real season 1 started. It was like a season 0.
@danielbrown85564 жыл бұрын
world crashed, I think bc of squid or something lmao
@JosephRooks4 жыл бұрын
That was a world corruption issue. From TPIM's history post on the subreddit: The very first server was set up using Bukkit with a spawn point near a village on water. Genny removed Bukkit after moving spawn and flying around to pre-generate chunks, which caused massive chunk corruption. The server was wiped and restarted almost immediately with the same seed. About the only things to occur on this very first world were elevating the village onto stilts, Biffa taming an ocelot, and Hypno and red3yz making a mob farm out of multiple spawners in a mineshaft. Over the next 2-3 episodes the Hermits started building bases and claiming territory. Kiershar got most of the way through building an enormous mob farm. Cubedhost then lost the entire world during routine maintenance, forcing them to start over yet again. This restart largely broke Kiershar, who returned very little following the reset. The third start was on the seed "4" and would be the final restart.

You know what? I replied to a bunch of comments, saying that I hope friendship can win out and GenerikB could be invited back to the server. But then I watched a stream of his from the other day, just after this one. Someone asked if he was still making content for KZbin. He and the rest of the chat shit all over the person who asked, completely dismissing him and not answering his question. Then someone brought up this stream here, and mentioned that they didn't know GenerikB was the founder. Once again, he shut down discussion and told people not to talk about Hermitcraft or BDubs (even though he said they were still friends). I stopped watching when someone asked about the B-Team and mentioned that he missed GenerikB's videos, and he gave the absolute shittiest, dismissive, ageist, and rudest answer he could possibly give, telling the person who asked that they're young and dumb and don't know anything about like. He said that over the last 2 years, he's been happier than he's ever been. All I saw was him being a miserable, offensive asshole to his audience. I don't know. Maybe he's better forgotten. Maybe it's better he isn't really a part of the community. I used to like his content, but now I'm disgusted. If he's happy, great, but if being a miserable prick is his definition of happiness, maybe it's best that he fade from the spotlight and keep his toxicity away from the rest of the community.

I want to see him back so bad. If only for the B-Team content, and to hear Bdubs and Genny have a good, genuine damn laugh together. Whoever is opposing him rejoining should let bygones be bygones. He's a dedicated content creator (on Twitch, which is fine, it's a better platform for him). He has a genuine tie to the server, and sure he left to join Mindcrack, but if anyone actually bothered to remember, Mindcrack had some of the biggest names in the Minecraft community on it. It was the mother of all servers. Genny couldn't have seen what was going to come of either server at the time, and made the decision 90% of us would have made. In the end it's not about how we feel, it's how the Hermits feel. MindCrack made some super questionable member additions close to the end (as well as Guudes shady contract stuff) and completely imploded itself. So I see why they are being careful. Still though, I'd pay good money to see Bteam back in town, harassing Etho and making quality cowboy films.

Now that he seems to be streaming a lot, I hope that is a choice that can be reconsidered. EDIT: I take that back. I watched a part of a stream he did the other day, and saw him repeatedly jump on people and act like a complete piece of shit. All I saw was a bitter old man basically telling his own fans to fuck off. We don't need that kind of negativity on KZbin or on this server, and that hurts to say. Eee lord, I started at season 1 because I watched MonkeyFarm (so very late into season 1). Then came season 2 with alll the new people like Venomkisser, Cilantro, KingHappy, Cleo, Mumbo and Spumwack - then later on Tango and then Tango again, Jevin, False, Zueljin, Sl1p and Marriland. Good times, man. Season 2 is still _my_ season in my eyes, just so much nostalgia.

I remember watching Hermitcraft back when GenerikB was still in the server but then I stopped after he left. I didn't start watching continuously until I got hooked onto season 4 episodes and then with the whole NHO thing in season 5, I got really into it, especially since Etho was involved in all that (though as many Etho fans were, I was sad that he stopped his episodes early). Of course, probably like many others, season 6 got me really watching the other hermits regularly. People like Iskall I watched for their own series, but the whole feeling of community in season 6 really made me want to see more of other people's perspectives. It was like watching a Marvel movie or something where you see stuff that you recognise from other stuff and when Hermits get together for a video or an event, you just get really excited like it's the Avengers coming together. It seems like having Grian join just showed what Hermitcraft can really be and I'm looking forward to more of that stuff in season 7 :))

minecraft itself has become such a cultural phenomenon but i would say, completely in its own right and on its own two feet, hermitcraft has become an absolutely amazing and unique thing. absolute gold has been captured. the dynamic and personality between all the hermits, and their creativity and dedication has really helped form something special. i started with mumbo in season 6, and quickly started watching multiple hermits (iskall, mumbo, grian, scar, ren, tango, doc, python and etc). ended up working my way back through season 5 and even 4 on several hermits as well. Thank you xisuma and everyone else on the team. the content is great and i completely share in the sentiment of "where can it go from here" and the excitement along with it.

@ninjashuriken4 жыл бұрын
Also make sure you don't cheap out! On the hardware side of things get the highest clock speed(the highest GHz ) CPU also make sure to get at least 3 GB of ram for 4 players and a few plugins/datapacks something I was not doing also pre genarate the world to certain extent as said before
@DiamondDoozer4 жыл бұрын
We signed up with shockbyte and have a 12Gb server. But we are running straight vanilla with some hermitcraft datapacks. He had mentioned awhile ago that there were some things running in the background that helped keep game lag free, but never said which ones lol
@ninjashuriken4 жыл бұрын
@@DiamondDoozer um so shockbyte CPUs seem to be good and 12GB should be enough(it depends on world size but as you are running vanilla 12GB should be more than enough) just pre genarate the world and also try seeing the TPS (/memory in vanilla I think) also make sure not to put too many datapacks they even cause more lag than plugins. Also maybe think about moving to Spigot/PaperMC(NOT bukkit) it provides a significant performance boost and it is as easy as it can ever be.

@ScooterinAB4 жыл бұрын
It's possible that he wasn't allowed back in because he wasn't playing Minecraft anymore when he brought it up. I do hope that people can put anything that is going on behind them. I don't think Genny wants to be the boss again. I think he just wants to play with his friends and be a part of what he started again. EDIT: On second thought, no. I watched part of one of his streams from the other day. All I saw was a bitter old man who lashed out and anyone who brought up KZbin, Hermitcraft, or anything else he didn't like. I saw a man I really enjoyed act like a complete asshole to people asking genuine questions, and someone who treated fans of his like garbage because he has a chip on his shoulder. He said he doesn't wants to be a part of Hermitcraft anymore, and given his negative behaviour in that stream, I don't think he should.

@@ScooterinAB I heard there was a big discourse about it some years ago, mostly on the Hermitcraft subreddit.
