Boulala actually tried the 25 stair 3 times, spread over 2 different days. The first attempt was when he was wearing the white long sleeve shirt with the waist coat, then he came back right before filming wrapped for "sorry" (wearing a black t shirt this time). He got his feet back on the board for 1 attempt (shown in the credits of sorry, and at about 6:37 of this video) but then tried it again where he kicked the board away, injuring his feet.

All languages get a little bastardized with age, hence the name transitioning over time to Hubba Hideout. Little easier to say, roles off the tounge, pleasant alliteration and most importantly, stupider. Its fun to have seen it occur in real time though.
@loveandnapalm
@loveandnapalm 4 жыл бұрын
@@Feddzzz It was called hubba hideout because "hubba" was slang for crack, and it was a spot that didn't get much foot traffic and you could duck down and hide to smoke your rocks. So essentially the name means "crack hideout".

Carlos V It’s a damn shame that they’re so uncultured. Anyone that has a limited knowledge of skating knows that filing a lawsuit because YOU bailed is ridiculous. You know, I wish I owned a famous spot. I’d maintain it and have you sign a waiver before hand
@missbelled6700
@missbelled6700 3 жыл бұрын
@@diabeticmonkey it's 100% more about not having to pay to fix shit, or not having property damaged than it is about lawsuits, you'd have be naive to think otherwise. hardcore skaters might not care if buildings and plazas wind up crusty, chipped, and wax-caked because "oh well everything gets dirty and breaks anyway," or their entire worldview revolves around themselves, but whether you're skating a private marble ledge downtown or municipal concrete at a public school, it still fucks shit up at someone else's expense or frustration. People like having clean spaces, especially when they've put up the money for it, and that's not really up for debate, but it is a choice whether or not you respect that. Same idea behind making special places for people to hit golf balls so that they don't go sailing through windows on the regular. Of course it would be easier and maybe more fun to just go down to the local park and start swinging away, but it wouldn't be considerate to other people. Obviously it's down to the property owners whether to try and preserve their property, but there's no reason to be disrespectful just because you really want to skate a spot. If security comes and says "hey can't do that here", they're just doing their job and it's polite to be the "no problem we'll clear out, have a nice day," kind of skater (just come back when shift changes lol)

in my hometown there was this legendary spot my dad used to shred on a regular; the sects ledge. theres still clips of him with 15yrs doing 5-0s and kickflip to manuals on it. sadly the sect who lived right next to it made more and more pressure to get them stopped and in 99 they paved the ground around it so it was unskatable. happily when the sect left the town the house they used as a church was turned into a punk club and skaters heaven with a bowl, vert inside the joint and cheapass beer so in the end, we still honor the ledge to this day every time we go shredding

Bridge rail in Winston Salem nc was another one. Grew up there and was stoked to see guys like arto sarri come through and skate it and it was eventually torn down due to how popular it was getting

Please don't encourage him. There's so much he missed and a bunch of the shit in this is just straight up wrong. I'm all for someone doing a historical chronicle of famous spots but it should be someone who at least knows who Wade Speyer is and can pronounce Wallenberg.

Alvin HS in Alvin TX "the sub" was a spot for the locals. A HS school with an old outdoor stage "the sub". On top of that alot of the buildings had concrete benches build into them. Also there is an abandoned post office with an amazing loading dock in that town.
