To be honest, Fate of Atlantis art wasn't that good. Story, branching choices, writing and dialog were superb. What worked on art was characters and those pixel art characters are indeed way better than in Infernal Machine. But background art were not consistent. They seems to change technique middle of project from pixel art to something that was based to scanned drawings and when some content was made, they keep them because remaking them would had cause delay. I think Fate of Atlantis is worth to remake with strong art direction. Something higher fidelity where characters fit to background. That would be hard to make because if they just render things with higher fidelity, characters would pop up and look garbage so they need to have motion capture on characters.

Low polygon poorly animated characters look like sketch. Fate of Atlantis was way better. In fact games often somewhat suck when they move to vector graphics until we got facial motion capture that was first time used in Avatar movie. That was used in games first time somewhere year 2009. And it mattered a lot. Game characters almost always had some helmet or scarf on their faces and characters were... faceless. Or, they have garbage looking faces. CGI just was crap and video footage was working better but that was also abandoned too early.

I know it is because I recognize the setting and models. It could've been developed for a different game but still, I know it was used. And why was staff of kings not mentioned! It's good! I've always enjoyed it and it should be talked about! That was half the reason why I even watched this. (Granted it's been a couple of years since I've played it last, it's still fun. definitely recommend if you want to play indiana/ps2 era games)

@lukereillyАй бұрын
Hi mate, I don't think you've quite paid attention to what's been said here, particularly in your other reply elsewhere where you say I'm wildly wrong. Perhaps you stopped the video at this very moment? At any rate, it isn't wrong; it's literally entirely explained the very next sentence that the PS2, PSP, DS, and Wii version of this project - The Staff of Kings - was published in 2009. Let me assure you, those demos featuring the Euphoria-powered animation tech are in reference to the PS3 and Xbox 360 Indiana Jones project, which was revealed in 2006 and supposed to be released in 2007. Eventually, in 2009, it was revealed the PS3 and Xbox 360 Indiana Jones Euphoria project that was being developed at LucasArts (now known as Lucasfilm Games) was very much dead. It did not come out on those consoles as depicted. Only the PS2, PSP, DS, and Wii version of this project ended up happening, like the video clearly says. These followed the same story prepared for the next-gen (at the time) versions of the game that LucasArts had been working on, but they weren't LucasArts' game. These were developed externally - most of which by Artificial Mind and Movement, which since went on to make Dead by Daylight.
