Hello everyone!
And welcome back to yet another Mortal Kombat History Of episode! Today focused around yet another character featured In the recent Quan chi gameplay trailer, a remanent of lost past, and current enforcers of the empress’s will, Khameleaon!
Today we do have an interesting spin of things, as whilst I have preciously strictly focused on touching on a characters origins, today I will also be tapping Into why she’s been such an illusive character throughout the franchise, as chances are many of you have only ever heard of Khameleon In passing, yet you ever rarely see her or do possible haver her confused with her other Chameleon counterpart!
We’ll be analysing Khameleons own history throughout the series, her Impact on the overall greater narrative, and the somewhat exclusivity that has been tied to the character ever since her debut!

@@BlazerK1914Personally it's not that i hate Kameos, but there are so many characters who i would love to see updates to their stories, gameplay, interactions etc. In my ideal world certain characters would be on the main roster and all of them could be a kameo if selected as such.

But in the New Era Timeline Khameleon teams up with Kitana and Mileena and Tanya and possibly Jade as well. Scarlet she most definitely got similar powers to her as well.

Khameleon design in Armageddon will always be her best look I hope she comes back as a playable character in the future I'm bummed she's just a Kameo in Mortal Kombat 1 but I'm glad she's no longer forgotten.

Like Sareena, it’s nice to see Khameleon to return in some way or another. The implications from MK1’s story all but implies that she’s a member of the Umgadi (a Zaterran one at that).

John Tobias confirmed Chameleon with a C is a Saurian and from the same realm as Khameleon and Reptile it wasn't added to his story due to time constraints but it's obvious he's a Saurian.

i would like to see syzoth meet her in mk1. i dont want them to be romantically involved, because i personally am very happy with him being with ashrah. but i want to see him be excited about meeting someone like him. it could be interesting to see, especially if shes so disconnected from her heritage as you theorize, because it could be a lot of syzoth reintroducing her to what it means to be a zaterran and her realizing she didnt even know she wanted to meet someone who was like her until he appeared. i think they could be good friends, i would like to see them interact

They possibly wouldn’t be connected as she could have been rebooted as another edenian, Umgadi are priestesses which mean they have some sort of mystical abilities, hers could just be the shape shifting

Khameleon should have been in MK9 or MKX a lot as well as her male counterpart they could have very well been in the story have chapters or just have cameos and be in the background like Skarlet in MK9 before we were introduce to her but Khameleon could have been DLC both Midway and NetherRealm Studios mishandled her and Chameleon then.

Reptile don't even know Khameleon exist she definitely have a reptilian form like Syzorth we have yet to see also we need to know where is Chameleon in this timeline hopefully he returns in the future.

In one of interviews before relase of MK1, Ed Boon was asked if Chameleon will be playable - and he answers "very likely". So just wait for new DLC, maybe story expansion involving Zatteran race.

Love her! Would've appreciated some voice lines for her in Story Mode like Sareena, Goro, and Kano had. However I think it is worth mentioning that she did appear in the MK9 Story Mode as a background character with her Klassic Ultimate Ninja Skin from MK3! 💚🤍

I really hope she is on the main roster of the next MK, maybe even a DLC character in the future if enough people ask for her. Think about how unique her combos would with her abilities, just having a female zatteran on the roster alone would be dope. If Frost can exist so can she.

@@blood-reaper I get what you mean but for me Frost was always separate from the female assassins, even though she is one, AND she doesn't have her own colour, she shares hers with Kitana. She also has a completely different design, she was never designed like Kitana, Mileena, Jade, Khameleon, Tanya (although maskless) and Skarlet, she was more like a female version of a male ninja. Even in MK1 she has a feminized MKII costume, not an MKII or MK3 female assassin costume. So I can see why you'd want that but to me Frost is separate and more unique than they are.

Reptile in a relationship with Ashrah but he should be in a relationship with Khameleon but I don't think he's aware of her existence despite fighting against her in his MK1 story chapter but I don't think he knew she's a Saurian.

"should" is a strong word. It's never implied that the two have ever had any sort of romantic connection. While I guess it's reasonable to expect them to be together just because their both Saurians, Reptile and Ashrah wouldn't be the first characters not to date another species.

I had the Wii version of Armageddon and loved her. I think they are such a creative way to go about the mimic character in fighting games. You have a few frame to do an input for a certain character based on the color of their outfit. It is so impressive

We don't even know that she is Zaterran in this timeline. Why is she not a reptilian creature or why is Reptiles skin not white. Anyway I'm glad she's there but her only purpose is so they don't need to make 3 separate Kameo versions of Kitana Mileena and Jade. They had a chance to make her unique and have her own moves, but lazy NRS went the expected Bland way.

I think she's a cool Kameo, but I don't want her in the game when we are missing people like Jade and Sonya; it would just piss people off. I hope she changes colors still when she comes out, I liked using male Chameleon in Armageddon because of how he looked. Also fun fact: chameleons don't change color to blend in to their environment, its more for absorbing sunlight and communicating; but some octopus do change color and shape as camouflage though.

The biggest missed opportunity of the MK9 reboot story is not bringing both K/Chameleons back as siblings but changing the males name to Komodo. Have him eventually become the vessel for Onaga (Komodo DRAGON, anyone?) so Reptile & Khameleon can breed to create a Saurian for the next generation. A name for said child: 'Gekko'

Khameleon won't ever transform in to a lizard form. Reptile himself says in the new MK1 story mode that he is the only one of his kind that has the lizard form/transformation and is seen like a freak among his own kind.

I feel like Khameleon is different from Reptile the same way Neanderthals were different from Homosapiens. They're similar but different evolutionarily. Khameleon seems more evovled than Reptile, like she doesn't have a reptilian form and her powers are better. Reptile can't mimic others powers. She doesn't seem, act or resemble a Saurian. We've never even seen her in a reptilian form. Until I see her in a lizard form I'm gonna see her this way.
