Like 10-15 years ago I mostly played LOL maps, there were a bunch of it, they were mostly max 20 sec maps (20 was already long). Timeattacking on servers with 5-6 mins/map was pretty fun. You could learn tricks, bugs, and everything else, and there was no feeling, that you play a map for 40 secs and there is one trick what you mess up and everything goes down the drain. Nowadays I have more game knowledge and I guess more patiens too, so I like longer technical maps, and I guess this became the norm too. 15 years ago most people played LOL maps, now most people play normal 40-50sec long maps :D

Jesus christ, this brought back some memories. Around 2013-2015 I was frequently playing in ooK lolmaps server and I remember Sytraxx very well, usually when his maps came up I wasn't too happy but not because I got shit maps, it was because a lot of the ones I got were very hard to finish. I don't mind the weird. stupid ones, it's a lol server after all.

Back in 2006 my team AGM and our sister team AFF were organizing "debile sessions" which stands for retarded sessions. Our main server back then was all tech or speedtech maps with a mod applied and some amiga soundtrack often from overclocked remix. But once a month or so we'd gather on some server with random lolmaps and I recall laughing so hard during these sessions. But I find it amazing people would play that kind of maps all the time. I'd be curious to know if some of our maps made it to the TM2 server, not quite sure these were uploaded to tm-exchange

It is the crazy difference in map styles that makes a proper lolmap-server what it is. You're destined to not like all the styles, but you will definitely find favorites you won't find on any other type of server. I'm a huge fan of the luck based maps with weird tricks in them. I wouldn't be on that server if it only had tech maps and decent transitions etc. I kinda miss a comparable server for TM2020

I never minded the Syntraxx Maps, when I still played some years ago. The worst ones were the "Golf" Maps for me. Golf Golf Golf.... every single day. People would not stop juking the same 5 Maps over and over again. Barely any skill required. You just get randomly yeeted across the Map trying to hit the hole.

You need to remember that many ppl where just lil kids to that time. (Incl me :P) we just opened the editor to create annoying maps for our friends. And our friends where happy to shittalk and cut them to still get enjoyment. This is still better than in ither games like Mario Maker, hm... but i guess because of the little hurdle to upload them to a separate platform. And ofc lol servers are not just random maps. Is there random maps servers in tmnf? Tmuf😮?

Mario Maker also deletes a lot of good troll maps because they tend to use glitches or things Nintendo thinks are glitches.

If you are looking to play the stadium car, TM2 is better. TMUF just has a bunch of different driving modes (valley car, snow car, etc.) I play TM2 exclusively
