the history of minecraft is a very thrilling tale of notch saying bad things on twitter. this video was so annoying to make for some reason; I rewrote the script like 8 times, re-edited the audio like 3 times, and then took so long to perfect the visuals that by the end I had pretty much just given up. gonna try a bit of a hastier process next time to try and force myself to both upload more often and not take as long to make things that don't matter. you probably didn't care enough to read that but I like talking

I was one of the players who stuck with the game throughout all the years despite the decline, starting in 2013 and going up to 2018 when I finally got bored of the game and stopped playing. But when 2019 came around, despite the resurgence of people playing and talking about Minecraft again, I only watched the new content and didn’t play because I had been burnt out. But when the nether update came out in 2020, it brought me right back into really loving the game again. It’s by far my favorite game of all time for shaping me as a person for so many years. Not sure why I’m saying all this but whatever, great video Jet!

it would be nice to add to minecraft the mysterious and magic atmosphere it had (like having firefiles), also adding some new steps or bosses for game completion would be nice, something to aim after defeating the ender dragon. like some other bosses (steps) and a final boss of end game that requires some interresting mechanic (mine craft), giving a better lenght and progression to the game, so even endgame gear like netherite armor and tools, the elytra, aren't anymore just things received for completing the game and quite worthless (by a progression standpoint) but more like struments and requiments to progress. I have quite my circle of friends with which i played minecraft during the pandemy, we did a little of building but they were more interrested in world progression and completing objectives like defeating the ender dragon, the wither, get better gear and farms to do these things, so because of that after we defeated the ender dragon they lost their interrest and i understand that. The average player needs a objective in which to focus his resources, efforts and learning/researching skills to achieve, maybe for that reason even big updates like the new nether and caves didn't get a long popularity (in activity) even if they are very appreciate. It's good to give some secondary objective for players like searching specific biomes (overlord, nether or end) or structures, maybe to get some fancy looking block for a build, but it's still something that goes around the primary objective and most of them doesn't have something to give it value, and something has value if it helps me to progress throught the game or accomplishing my objectives. Maybe if minecraft had more a costrutive growth with his progression and a more meaningful difficulty and lenght, it would make more success, especially nowadays. Mods were and are the thing that gave minecraft a reason to be played by giving you a lot of new objectives and things to aim also having fun to research, learn, play with and achieve, one thing that i loved about industrialcraft was electric energy, not only for its applications but because it was a better fuel, more pratical and renewal, interresting to play with (because of the cables, batteries nad everything, so i was required to do a build counting these things) and hard to get, i needed multiple steps to gain it and even more to achieve his full potential, but it repaied all the hard work, being also just one small objective for other bigger objectives. Minecraft will always have a special place in my heart, but in these days it feels flat and i think it could grow in a vertical/spiral way (metaphor about progression and objectives) making it a beatiful enjoyable tree to climb, and realizing all that potential makes me excited like a child.
