I am very grateful for these inspiring and useful lessons. Please, if you are planning, as I hope, more videos, would you consider having a microphone placed closer to the audience as well or any other technical arrangement to allow us to listen to the questions?

3:23 How the profession works. 4:43 Ethic is most important. 11:26 Boundary violation. ... ... To be updated. Personal Key Takeaway: Dr Aleksandar provides a different perspective of Psychoanalysis. With deep humility and openness. The Ideal. And the Dark. It's utility. Beyond Freud and the many controversies.

As someone who came from the humanities to psychology, I am on board with the indispensable value of research-I just want other people to do it for me lol I am a creature of hermeneutics and intuition.

What do you think about the writings of Edmund Bergler M D, assistant director of Freud Clinic in Vienna in the 1930,s and Psychoanalist in New York City from 1940 to 1962 ?

A tooth is tooth. All minds, psyches, and souls differ and are unique. One solution will not serve all persons. Each psyche is a puzzle to solve.

This is the reason some analyze their dreams. The unconscious is where our psyche becomes visible if connected to one's emotions.

The cores and foundation of psychoanalysis is the Oedipus complex. It has almost no valid premise in our world today, because of diminished, almost I obsolete role of the father etc.
@bellakrinkle9381Ай бұрын
I agree, yet, the reasons are varied and fathers cannot be singled out due to obsolescence, imo. The reality may have more to do with the fact that most adults are stuck in adolescence with corresponding minds. (Referring to the general population, at least in the US.)

I wonder how many interested students and psychoanalysts will be in reading Mark Solm's revision of Freud's documents and newly revealed private letters. Every university ought to own a set. I'm not sure how many volumes there are: the labor of love took 29 years. I wonder if anyone understands Freud more the Solms does now that his work is finished.

Linguistics is exactly as sectarian as he describes. This is perhaps a good demonstration that it is a humanities discipline.
