Correction: Blaster rng is not determined by being mid-air, but by jumping. If you just walk off a platform you will not get any deviation despite being mid-air

@@deliwtz i said i didn’t want to go further in detail, not that it was too hard to explain. the “what is rapid” segment already felt too long, so i didn’t really want to make it longer by specifying how jump rng works because frankly the use for falling off of a platform to have perfect rng is so niche in this game that it wouldn’t really matter. in hindsight this reasoning wasn’t great, but its my first time making a video like this… no need to be rude ab it. will definitely be putting some more thought into my future videos, as the #1 thing i don’t want to do with a video is put wrong information in it.

Finally a man of culture that appreciates the Rapid Blasters as much if not more than I do. Been grinding Rapids since Splat 1 days. Nice to know their history throughout the games. When they were cracked in Splat 1 and the dark ages of armor, sting ray, and bubbles in Splat 2. Hopefully we get some great Rapid kits in the inevitable future patches.

My favorite part about using Rapid in 2 was that it was really good at neutralizing CDS and Nautilus. I don't feel like the weapon has gotten enough credit for that specifically.

Been trying Rapid Deco and it feels great, never was a fan of using baller, and Ink Jet is a special I am still not comfy with, but man does it feel good to get kills with, makes me wanna learn rapid deco as a pocket almost.

I’ve almost exclusively used the rapid pro in Splatoon 3 because I love the main weapon so much. However, I hate its kit equally so. For the deco I’d really like to see the Splatoon 1 kit come back with autobomb + trizooka, especially since the trizooka one-shots crab tanks now. I’d appreciate just about any sub that isn’t sprinkler/angle shooter/toxic mist, and I’d gladly accept the trizooka or killer wail from previous kits.

Man it is really funny hearing the range blaster slander when it was actually pretty high tier for several months up until 9.0 nerfed all the really good midline weapons. And Range only got one buff in that time

Rapid has always had it pretty good, ngl. Getting essentially two extra kits with very minor main weapon changes is a big deal. Wish they'd do that with weapons from other classes too since that's a big part of why shooters and rapid have always had at least one good option

Oh my god I have been waiting for a “history of Rapid Blaster” video for ages! It went through so many meta shifts in 2, constantly changing variants, so I really wanted someone to cover it I picked up Rapid Pro Deco as a main around the middle of 2019, and because it was such an odd pick back then, Rapid Pro basically became “that weapon that Blackbird plays” during discussions. Then everyone else realized RBPD was good and I laughed at them all lol I’m still using Rapid Pro in 3, but I’ve tried out both of the normal Rapids in this game as well, as I had played Rapid Deco and Kensa Rapid some in 2. I preferred Deco because…I just suck at Torpedo combos. Rapid Deco in 3 is really fun, and I’m glad I finally understand Ink Mines on Rapid lol. I do agree though, if RBDP had been an earlier meta development in 2, the game would’ve not been as fun

I respectfully disagree about vRapid; while the kit may seem odd at first, it's niche is being a defensive/supportive weapon for splat zones. Now, it's mainly splat zones where it shines, so it does have limited use. But I have found success with it. Ink mines on zone is self-explanatory: stall the zone by re-applying paint whenever they push in/shoot at the mine. Tri-strike also helps stall/retake the zone, especially after the buff. Ink mine > direct hit is a true combo, although it requires you to be VERY comfortable with Rapid's fire rate and have high aim sensitivity. I've used it to punish dualies/splashes that approach me recklessly. I run 5 subs of sub power up, which may seem overkill and it admittedly is, but it's been annoying enough to work.

“for splat zones” and “vrapid” do not belong in the same sentence lmao. sure vrapid has inkstrike but even then it doesnt have a bomb to effectively paint for strike, and it doesnt help that rapid’s paint isnt good by any means. i get what you mean by using mines that way but this kit is not built for zones at all, especially with rapid’s mid special output. objectively the weapon is bad on zones, which is why you never see rapids (even the ones with bombs) on zone. ttek, neosplash, and zf do it’s job way better in zones

@@retrogade0004 i mean if youre playing in solo (ranked, x battles) it doesnt really matter as long as youre having fun, but if youre bringing rapid to zones in competitive play youre kind of throwing, so id switch to ttek or neosplash for that. Play rapid if you like it tho! The weapon is still good on other map/modes, especially TC and CB which is where i usually bring it. Im switching to rapid deco for the time being though, its definitely the better weapon in most ways. Either way, i appreciate your feedback a lot! you do have it backwards though, its mainly NOT SZ where it shines

Came back here to say that while the rapid pro deco is a big improvement on the first kit, I don’t understand why Nintendo is afraid of giving it a top tier kit. Weapons like splash/machine/ballpoint exist. Now my only two choices are the worst special (ink vac) and one of the worst subs (angle shooter). Since they’ve crossed two garbage-tier subs off the list, I’d like a third kit. If that ever happens I hope it doesn’t get sprinkler or one of the remaining low tier specials.

krapid is overall better because baller lets rapid survive when people get inside its effective range and torpedo was better in 2, but deco is strong against crab tank from main weapon and special and hitting around small cover is more valuable in this game so its still pretty strong

I can't say that I expected to find a video dedicated to these things but I'm happy to be proven wrong. I actually disagree with vanilla Pro being better in 3 than in 2. I think that being able to squid roll into Toxic Mist and maintain most of your speed makes the sub far worse in this game and Ink Vac has its uses but is so situational that I commonly find myself not using it even once in a 5 minute game. That being the main weapon is basically my favorite thing ever so a kit that doesn't work with it at all isn't going to stop me. Let alone a kit that's only really held back by balance rather than synergy.

i get what you mean but objectively rapid pro is better in this game than it was in 2. squid rolling through mist is really situational and is almost never done in any significant way, and rapid pro in 2 was just hard outclassed whereas in this game it is definitely the best ink vac user, as well as being a much stronger main weapon in this game bc the direct counter specials are gone. appreciate the feedback though! (also not using your ink vac is a waste)

@@jacobcats_spl it's not that I never use Ink Vac. It's that I rarely find opportunities to take advantage of the protection it provides to teammates. Part of it is definitely the inability to communicate with teammates and not the special's fault so my view of its use cases is at least somewhat affected by that. However even if I manage to find myself in a situation that justifies its use I encounter another issue- it outlasts its usefulness far too frequently and I'm just awkwardly waiting for it to end.

@@nimroddafny7125 that could just be due to your positioning when playing rpro, and keep in mind that you dont always have to be sucking in ink with vac in order for it to be effective because of the large explosion shot it shoots out anyways also rapid pro last game was objectively outclassed by CDS, whereas rapid pro this game is the most relevant ink vac weapon
