Rogers were considered "The Cadillac Of Drums" back in the day.

Something that I haven't heard mentioned is this. - The quality of the "wraps" went down on the Fullerton drums especially the sparkle finishes. The blue sparkle would turn greenish, the red sparkle would turn orangish, the green sparkle would fade to yellowish, the gold sparkle would fade to a champagne and the silver sparkle held up the best. - I noticed this when I ordered a Fullerton/Powertone 14x14 floortom to add to my Covington built Holiday kit (blue sparkle)that I bought used in 1970. After a few years the blue sparkle had a distinct greenish tint about it and stuck out from the rest of the kit. Then I noticed the same fading and yellowing happening with other Fullerton wrapped shells. Today, my old, 4-piece blue sparkle Holiday kit (Covington/Cleveland stickers) is blue, blue, blue and I've been playing them professionally all this time. Best wishes to all the players out there.

Great history! Playing Rogers since 1963. I still have the Holiday Cozy Cole " Constellation" model with Cleveland tags. Also have a 1968-1969 Dave Clark " Londoner" model with Fullerton tags. Have all the original Swivel- Matic hardware, stands, etc. In my opinion, the Cleveland models are more solid than the Fullerton models They both have the same quality, but the Cleveland has more weight & a little better sound quality than the Fullerton model. Love both kits & will never part with them. Thanks for the history lesson. Much appreciated.

I saw a red sparkle set at a Music Go Round with the B&B lugs but some lugs were probably cracked.

I own a vintage Powrtone model from the 60s. Good snare. Not as good as my higher end Ludwigs or Gretsch models but definitely usable. But in some ways, it does stand out better in a unique way
