@@alegendarywolf3278 You a bit confused. The Smackdown series became the SvR series. Day of Reckoning and Day of Reckoning 2 were GameCube exclusives, so there wouldn't be a need or reason to take something strictly on Nintendo and make it for both Xbox and Sony.

This has been such a great ride. The series as a whole was a pleasure to watch, and as a guy who was always an N64 guy who jumped onto the Smackdown series with "Shut Your Mouth," I learned a lot about the early games from this series. I loved how you were able to keep throwing back to the early games as developments happened, like the CAW part in this video (and god damn, how did I EVER have the patience to copy and recreate those CAWs haha). This makes me want to rummage through my mom's storage area and find my copy, which I'm sure exists somewhere. Great series, awesome memories. Loved this and I'm interested to hear the new documentary announcement, as well as looking forward to the newly announced show.

Captain McKay Random Thanks for the love throughout the series, dog. Much appreciated. I would deeeefinitely suggest grabbing your copy and playing, it’s a hell of a lot of fun. I’m glad I could shed some light on the earlier games, and I’m happy everyone is seemingly pleased with the finale. For whatever reason I was worried the finale would bomb, Hahaha. Thanks brudda.

Man the nostalgia you gave me... I had almost exactly the same story, I was deep into Smackdown at the time and here comes the pain was the peak of my happiness( the 4x times extra moves, the blood, the body part indicator made such a difference...). I was obsessed with all the moves, I even used to practice them on friends although they say dont try this at home BS, but we were so much into it we didnt care. I remember waking up in the middle of the night on a school day to watch the matches because of the different time zones. And going to a friend's home to play Here comes the pain, because I couldnt afford a PS2 at the time and i've been playing only Smackdown 2 on PS1. It was the highlight of my childhood and oh boy it was good!! For some reason after that, everyone lost interest in wrestling when some characters started dropping out and switching to raw and etc... And I couldnt find RAW games on any channel in my country, I needed a special subscription and how could i convince my parents to subscribe to a monthly plan only to watch few wrestling shows. So here comes the pain was my last wrestling game and your series brought back so much memories. Thank you.

Also i would like to say that somewhere in India there was a kid who grew up exactly like how you did with all the mortal kombat madness, action figures and wwf/wwe. I'm also grateful I was born in 89. I got to play most of the awesome NES, Playstation and PC games released which now are considered beloved classics or have spawned massive franchises. Regarding the Smackdown series. I first got Smackdown 2 in 2001 from a friend, he simply lent it to me so I had to give it back. I played it most of the summer vacation of 2001 and at the start of autumn I gave it back to him but in 2 weeks I bought one for myself. The new CD was in much better quality and the FMVs didn't skip :D. Then in 2002 I got a PS2 and Smackdown Just bring it. Which like you mentioned, it was alright, but Smackdown 2 is still much more beloved to me

I legit commented on most the videos saved this one for a few days because this was the last hoorah of my friends coming over playing on my parents Sanyo Tv in the living room and connecting 2 multi taps having 6 man elimination chambers between all my friends we would make pacts and then turn on each other we created wrestlers for 8 hours and just enjoy being friends it’s a shame how many of us don’t even talk to each other but if I could go back in time and relive those moments for just 1 day I would. This was the greatest set of reviews I’ve ever watched continue the good work and thank you!!!

Hell yeah Indeed the best game in the series. No complaints at all except some of the roster members being taken out. I love your videos man. There's emotion in there that I don't see in other videos. And an openess/willingness to be personal. I dig it. Also you have HIM Dark Light at the end of them haha.

Always love when somebody points out the HIM that inevitably bleeds into whatever I'm making. Yea, that's kinda my whole deal, I don't want to make videos you can find anywhere else. I made conversational videos, weekly series in fact, for like 5 years. They were fun but none of them really got anywhere. Anybody can set up a camera and talk. I really found out what the fuck I want to be doing with my new style. Writing has always been a love of mine, it was about time I started making scripted content. What the fuck took me so long? Hahaha.

The absolute best WWE (not WWF) Game of All Time in my opinion. Slick graphics for the time, awesome animations, amazing gameplay and a great Creation suite. The new additions of Legends was so cool. There was an issue with copyright that forbid WWE from using certain e trance themes, that's why RVD and the Dudleyz had different music. I've never seen that footage of Hogan or Jeff Hardy. That F-5 after he catches Hardy was incredible. I've seen footage of Warrior before right around when the game was announced in 2003. Was so sad he got cut from the game. What a great retrospective. Sad to see it end but man, what a ride. Congratulations, Ian. Really looking forward to your next series.

Great series, both the Mortal Kombat and this one! I do hate you gave up on wrestling, but it's understandable. I've held on through all the good and bad, since I wrestled on the indy circuit in 1999-2001, kinda felt it was my duty to keep up with Pro Wrestling both on the gaming, and television side. However, I'm guessing you're KINDA back into wrestling again, as I've noticed you using a lot of current theme songs in your vids....so hope you're back for good! I will always know what's happening in wrestling, as I tend to check the websites and I have many friends who are wrestlers, but yea, I go up and down with it. I got back into it around 2011 to 2014, left, watched some 2016 to 2017, etc. So much of what WWE does is just repetitive shit now that its not enticing to give hours and hours of my week to see the same shit over and over again. I know there's more than WWE out there, but still. Its not the same. And yea, I definitely recommend you subscribe, as the next History Of will be right up your alley, my friend.

Wasn't there a 'spanking' mini-game in the bra and panties matches, or am I thinking of something else? In any case, the fact that, along with the health bar, you could work different body parts, was amazing in itself. The mechanics of HCTP were incredible. And the creation tools in the Smackdown/2K series are way underrated; So deep and robust, I dare say they're some of the best in gaming anywhere. (However, thinking about how complicated it was triggers my nervous twitch) These retrospectives are awesome, Ian, and what sets them apart are the personal touches and anecdotes. Cheers, mate 😎

One thing about this game some people don't know is that Jerry "The King" Lawler is a secret character kinda in season mode if you save him from a beat down from two heels the next week he'll say he'll be your tag team partner against the guys who attacked him too bad you can't use him as a playable character
@VyceryonNet
@VyceryonNet 9 ай бұрын
@616Entertainment Fun fact, Warrior, Hogan & Jeff were the last 3 removed, reason I know, is because TECHNICALLY they’re still in the game, the model, rating & moveset are still very much still in the code, and if you have PC you can edit the game script to make them active as playable characters…just turn entrances off, otherwise IT WILL crash the gam.

I pretty much grew out of wrestling games like you did. Friends and cousins stopped caring about it, and the quality of the games began going downhill, alongside the product. I feel like Day of Reckoning and SYM were the last games I really sank my teeth into. HCTP was amazing, but I had no one to share the feeling with. I kept buying the games out of habit, with SvR06 being another great entry, but called it quits after SvR08. I bought WWE13 for the Attitude Era roster and to try out Universe Mode, but after having some nostalgic fun with my cousins, dropped them hard again. I also like the Season Mode with Edge and Christian in SvR11, I think, but that was a rent. Overall, No Mercy, SYM and HCTP, and DoR are my favorite wrestling games. I really wanna choose DoR2 over DoR1, but Jesus Christ it had some horrible loading times. Def Jam series were also pretty good.

What issue do you have with SmackDown vs Raw 2008? It's one of my favorites. It introduces ECW, has Jeff Hardy's return to WWE Games, has the PPV Arenas, Championships and fun gameplay (introduced new weapons). My biggest issue is simple, no Chris Benoit, so you can't create his final year against guys like MVP. As far as WWE in 2007, it wasn't bad. You had Cena's dominance, Batista vs Undertaker, Hardyz as Tag Champions, Edge and Orton as heel World Champions, the rise of Jeff Hardy. It was a solid year.

This game had shoes that SVR '05 just couldn't fill. This game STILL holds up. My only two nitpicks are; 1. how Randy Orton still had his 2002 rookie attire despite being a member of Evolution, having the RKO and a loading screen with the correct attire. 2. How Kane still had his attitude Era theme song despite having "Slow Chemical" for a year. 😂😂😂😂

When I first played HCTP and saw certain wrestlers were missing, I just assigned their signature moves to someone in the roster that they shared a history with. Scott Hall & Hulk Hogan are missing? Gonna give the Atomic Leg Drop & Outsider's Edge to Kevin Nash. Dean Malenko couldn't make it? Double underhook powerbomb into the cloverleaf goes to Jericho. I even gave the reverse DDT to Bret Hart as a reference to Sting

I'd argue '07 was he beginning of the end before '08, but agreed. The stamina system, in my opinion, is one of the chief things that killed wrestling games. I’m definitely in the minority here but SvR 2008 was the best for me. But default it was trash but CAWs were great and GM mode kept me playing and coming back for more. Some move sets weren’t available at all. Guys like Hulk Hogan and Chris Benoit couldn’t faithfully be made. But you still had plenty of TNA and ROH move sets to pick from to beef up the Smackdown! roster. Yes I always play with Teddy Long using Edge as a heel champion.
