Spaghetti with meatballs is NOT an american invention. Italians DID eat spaghetti with meatballs by the time they migrated to USA and other countries. I'm from Brazil, and there were a lot of italian immigrants here too, and we also see spaghetti with meatballs as a typical italian dish. It is something that carne with the immigrants. The point is that the years went by, and they stopped eating it in Italy
