Oh wow, that was the best video about sumo I have seen! Thank you Yuta-sensei. I can only dream of studying Japanese with such interesting and deep content. Thank you for not choosing dummy topics for beginners. I hope more people will be able to find your channel and appreciate the effort you put into it.

Some believe that Sumo has a close connection with ancient Chinese folk wrestling, hence wrestling in Chinese was also named 相撲. and wrestlers worn the belt which expose most of the body part. and it was widely performed during 中元节 or 端午节 for ritual use or harvest celebration. Somehow we partially abandoned this tradition and started to wrestle with jacket, might be a custom learnt from steppe. By the way, my favourite Sumo rikishi is Harumafuji.

Are you Pomax? If that you then thank you, I've been using your website as well as your famous pdf to learn Japanese. I've been watching sumo for a few years now and finally decided to delve into the language. Glad to have found this channel!
