I usually drink the cheapest matcha I can find that isn't astringent. hahaha Also I sortof rotate between Red Rose, Tetley, Typhoo, and Yorkshire when I'm in the mood for black tea.

Delighted to watch your video on tea, aka chai. Thank you so much for sharing its history. I love tea so much that as an author (Nilanjana The Author Girl) I coined the term "chaiophile" for all the tea lovers in my book "The Stolen Kiss" . It's an amalgamation of two words - from Indian 'chai' and Greek 'phile' (lover of). Here's to all the tea-lovers - Cheers Chaiophiles!!! ☕️

@ 5:03, the title "Cha by Sea, Tea by Land" mixes up what both Kelly and the map tells us. For anything else in the video, thumbs up!

"Tea drinking likely began during the Shang dynasty... it began as a medicinal drink as well as a drink consumed by Buddhist monks..." - But Buddhism did not reach China until more than 1000 years after Shang dynasty...

I've never been a tea drinker but it's supposedly healthier than ☕. I'm in 🇺🇸. Got any tea recommendations? Another great video btw. 👍

Kelly, does your shirt say 'T-30'? What does that mean?
@WorldHistoryEncyclopedia3 жыл бұрын
Kelly's shirt has katakana on it which are the sounds for 'i-ko-ro.' It is the 'Sakura' tee from Eclo Australia.
@MultiCappie3 жыл бұрын
@@WorldHistoryEncyclopedia Just to flesh out, it is the transliterated Japanese Katakana syllabry spelling of "E-Clo"; however it also rhymes exactly with "have time" which kindof means "slow down and relax."

The graphic picture with world map in the video is wrong.. tea by sea, cha by land... (In the picture wrote tea by land, and cha by sea?)

Why is this video so focused on japan ? I thought it was a video about global tea history
@WorldHistoryEncyclopedia Жыл бұрын
Because tea is a huge part of Japanese culture and history.

It depends which language you speak, as the point of language is to communicate, you need to say what your audience can understand. Clearly there's been success if you know well enough to correct a person.
