4:23 You didn't mention why Mother Brain was created. Because the Chozo could no longer reproduce themselves and fearing extinction, they made Mother Brain so it could hold all the data and knowlegde the Chozo got through the universe, similiar to the Aurora Units in Prime 3 and the Central Units in Dread. After all, they were modeled based on the original Mother Brain.

Maybe we will follow this up with a Mother Brain deep dive. Script was already real long so I didn't go as deep into Mother Brain specifics.

Something of note regarding the potential canonicity of the manga. The childhood memories in Zero Mission, the chozo depicted as well as the art style look strikingly similar to the manga, and Zero Mission is canon. Ive never seen anyone comment on this

Additionally beings that thrived on Zebes that were never seen before in the manga, ended up becoming Bosses in Zero Mission (Imago, and the worm thingy). I think the manga is semi-canon.

Samus actually isn't a sci-fi name. Samus is the female version of Seamus which is the Irish equivalent to James.

I mean not for not, the Chozo did try to be a positive influence on the universe they just constantly got screwed over everywhere they go.

I have a little headcanon that the reason the X parasites are called as such is because it’s quite simply not a name. It’s supposed to represent that they are a nameless horror to the Chozo, more of a malevolent Lovecraftian force than any normal organism. They may as well have been called the Faceless Blight, or other suitably Lovecraftian names.

I have a hunch that Chozo in the Metroid Dread trailer is actually an X-Parasite. Those things have proven nigh impossible to contain. Additionally, my mind goes back to when, in Metroid Fusion, Adam suggested to Samus that the X-Parasites were trying to blow up the BSL's main boiler on purpose because Samus was a "threat to X elsewhere".
@marche800
@marche800 3 жыл бұрын
I mean while thart might be the case the recent Dread report basically confirms that the Chozo aren't extinct and there are some still around they're just very reclusive, so this could be a real chozo, additionally the X-parasite mention could just be a ruse to attract samus and the federation to the planet.
@Rivalseeker
@Rivalseeker 3 жыл бұрын
@@marche800 Yeah, I saw the most recent update on the site too. And while I do believe the Chozo aren't entirely extinct, I'm still suspicious that Dread's synopsis is placing a lot of emphasis on the X-Parasites. To respond to your theory, since the Chozo are highly intelligent, I don't think non-infected renegade Chozo on ZDR would risk sending a video to the Galactic Federation willingly. Surely they would consider that their base of operations would be discovered by a galaxy-wide authority made up of many races, and who knows what the consequences would be for the ZDR Chozo? Feel free to reply to me if I missed something. :)

The best thing about Metroid is that my powerful female character is canonically part human, part bird, part Metroid, and part parasite and all badass 😂

I think the Chozo in the trailers is benign...but that's me. I interpret the hand-on-chest the Chozo does in Dread report iv as an emotional brace for the memories it has. One clue is the closeup of a dead Chozo that looks just like it in the vol iv trailer.

The biggest thing is Metroid aren't inherently evil, they feed like c4azy but can develop actual sentience like the Metroid that bonded with Samus. Just saying the species aren't just planet devourers.
