I don't like the fact that they always blow up the Enterprise. Even if the ship was ugly and oversized it was still the Enterprise. It's supposed to be a hero ship but in this case it didn't outrun anyone, it didn't outgun anyone it didn't out shoot anyone, it was nearly destroyed in two out of three movies then finally put out of its misery. Enterprise wasn't the 3rd ship to be called Enterprise, unless they aren't counting the first ship since the federation wasn't founded yet. They do say "Federation ship", so assume that's why they didn't include the NX-01. I still consider it the first ship since it still had the same purpose as the subsequent ships, and is in the federation museum, which would make Enterprise B the 4th ship.

Omega Ordained : The Nebula Class looks like a Mirada Class on steroids. One of my favorite TNG episode where Capt. Picard worked with Cardassian Gal Masset to hunt down the rogue Starfleet SS Phoenix (nebula class). Picardy speech in the end was awesome! The Galaxy Class Enterprise and the Phoenix looks evenly matched except for the sensor pod atop the saucer section. Change it into a weapons pod and that's a warship.

Renshi Sensai greetings to answer your question no there were no Enterprises at the same time usually it was about 20 years in between each incarnation of the Enterprise I do not believe the Enterprise a was destroyed I think it was retired I don't know for sure and the rest I'm pretty sure we're all destroyed. Your best resource for history of Star Trek is the website Memory Alpha they have great information on anything you could possibly think of. Oh oh come to think of it the NX Enterprise with Captain Archer was not destroyed it was put in the Smithsonian I believe and the Enterprise E was also not destroyed and we don't know what happened to the Enterprise B. There are a few errors in this history. Not going into the divergent history here. When the Enterprise returned from its 5 year mission, it underwent upgrade, however, after the upgrades were complete, the ship was so different that it became its own class, the Enterprise class. It was then launched to intercept V'ger on its maiden voyage. The Enterprise B was a modified excelsior class outfitted for extensive deep range surveys. Enterprise C was an an earlier Intrepid class which became the precursor to later versions that eventually included the USS Voyager and was designed to be a patrol ship due to its speed and offensive capability. The Enterprise D or Galaxy class was Star fleets first official multi-generational ship with the inclusion of families and educational facilities for very long extended missions with only very brief re supplies. The Enterprise E or Sovreign class was Star Fleets answer to a full on military battle ship to face the Borg and the more powerful threats such as the Dominion. It would have been nice to also include the histories of the sailing ship Enterprise and the shuttle as well as is seen in the rec room during the V'ger incident.

I know it's not "cannon" but the Enterprise F (I think it's F) which is the Enterprise based off the Odyssey Class, is my favorite Enterprise, mainly because the Odyssey was such a good design. If I remember correctly it was also the first Enterprise to have a Transwarp drive as a standard. Also technically the Enterprise J (the future Enterprise from the ENT series) IS "cannon", not that there is a lot of information on it, outside of Star Trek Online.

I don't consider Star Trek: Enterprise canon (I say this only as a fan of course); it completely ignores Star Trek continuity. Here's a few issues from season 1 alone; 1. Earths first encounter with the Klingon Empire was depicted as violent in an episode of TNG and Picard said it led to decades of war/conflict. But in the first episode of Enterprise "Broken Arrow" when humans first encounter Klingons, Archer helps them, and they show their respect. (and was anyone else annoyed by the fact that Sato never said the translation of any insults? She only ever said "you don't want to know.") 2. The NX-01 uses subspace communication technology in 2151. However in the TOS episode "A Piece of the Action," Kirk explains to Oxmyx "...they didn't have subspace communication in those days" in the late 2160s when the Horizon visited Sigma Iota 2. They just used conventional radio. Watch it. He says it at about 1 minute into the episode. 3. The NX-01 is an "NX-Class" starship. This makes no practical sense as far as naval tradition goes. NX means Naval Experiment. So that means the Enterprise is a Naval Experiment-Class starship? In any navy, the name of the first ship in a new class gives its name to that class. So the NX-01 should have been and Enterprise-class Ship. Just like how in the USN, the first ship in the Arleigh Burke-class destroyers is the USS Arleigh Burke, the First Nimitz-Class was the USS Nimitz, and the first Galaxy-Class was the USS Galaxy. It makes no sense that the "NX" class ship is the only ship ever to not take its name from the first ship in its line. A bonus point; all of us trekkies have been led to believe until 2001 that the NCC-1701 was the first Enterprise in Star Trek. Then suddenly with "Enterprise," we're told that isn't true. I personally feel thats a jerk move. I know they explained it away with the technicality that the 1701 is the first Federation Starship Enterprise, but thats just a technicality. Its what idiots do (Rick Berman, Brannon Braga) to cover up their foolish mistake. And doesn't anyone else feel that it would have been more practical to call the NX-01 'ARCHER' after the guy who made its engine, or even better, the 'COCHRANE' after the guy who invented warp drive. Then the show could have been called Star Trek Cochrane or Star Trek Archer. But no, it was named ENTERPRISE, just ENTERPRISE. Only because Rick Berman thought it would bring back a lot of the trekkies who quit watching (I count myself as one of them).

Counter point to A: Your incorrect about what Picard said the the episode "First Contact." His exact words were "Centuries ago, disastrous contact with the Klingon Empire led to decades of war." Yet in the ENTERPRISE episode "Broken Arrow," first contact with the Klingon's was not at all disastrous. Counter point to B: The pilot episode "The Cage" only states that the "time barrier" has been broken. He never said warp drive was invented within the 18 years sense their crash. Counter to point C: I have been an in-depth Star Trek geek my whole life, and I have never heard of "Starship-class" being referred to any Enterprise. And Starfleet was not born of any nations military or air force for that mater. In fact, Earth didn't even have a military at all after the end of World War III. Earth funded the United Earth Space Probe Agency in the 2060s (Voyager episode "Friendship One") soon after Cochrane's first warp flight. Starting in the mid 2130s, the UESPA had begun to reorganize into Starfleet. So Starfleet is not the culmination of different air forces. How can that be when there hadn't been a military on Earth sense the end of World War III(3). Riker stated in Star Trek First Contact that Earth was vulnerable at the time warp drive was invented. There was "very little government left." In fact, Starfleet is the closest thing Earth has ever had to a military sense the end of World War III, and Starfleet isn't even a military organization.

The "starship" class is a fan retcon to cover the statement of a character in the show that there were only 12 starships in the fleet. Between that and the time line for ftl set in The Cage its obvious Gene intended for the show to be set at the very early years of interstellar travel. But this was reconned by a later show introducing Cocherain. So... if warp is a century or so old, the fleet is rather extensive amd the Enterprise is a Constitution class how do you resolve all these statements? If theres any continuity at all between pre ww3 earth and post ww3 earth space programs then the combined program that eventually became starfleet has its roots in airforce tradition, and even if they dont theres absolutely on connection to naval tradition. So why would federation ships resort to sea borne naval traditions?

Picard said that contact with the Klingons was disastrous, yet in Enterprise, we see that it was quite peaceful and a good start for Humans and Klingons. Big error one ENTERPRISE'S part. It is not indicated in any way that the "time warp barrier" is warp drive. I just watched the episode, the kid said; "and you wont believe how fast you'll get back. Also, if warp drive was not invented well before Veenas ship crashed on Talos, they never would have gotten there within their life time. Talos is no where near Earth and would take at least a lifetime or more to reach it at conventional speeds. So there had to have been faster then light travel long before the Talos crash. What are you talking about when you say warp is a century old? By Kirks time on the Enterprise, warp drive is over two centuries old. The Original Series starts in 2266, and Cochrane launched the Phoenix in 2063, a 203 year difference. You're still running with the assumption that there were major institutions left on Earth after WWIII. There wasn't any at all. Did you read what I said? There was nothing left after WWIII ended because that war left Earth in a nuclear winter which lasted at least 2 years. Let me spell it out for you. There - Was - No - Major - Institutions - Left - On - Earth - After - World War 3. No air forces, no armies, no navies, and certainly no space program. the only things that survived were a few factions and a few pitiful governments. WWIII was a nuclear war that killed over 600 million people compared to WWII which only killed at most 80 million including holocaust victims. So you can't compare space programs that existed before WWIII with any that existed after WWIII because there wasn't any. The United Earth Space Probe Agency was formed from scratch about 3 years after Cochranes warp test, which took place at least 10 years after the end of World War III. It was not formed from anything. It was brand new. (Source; Star Trek Voyager; "Friendship One" 2001, Star Trek First Contact 1996) Finely, how can you not see Starfleet as using Naval tradition? Its very obvious it is. 1. They use ships 2. They refer to their ships as "she's" 3. They use the traditional naval rank system; Enlisted; Crewman, Chief Officer; Ensign, Lieutenant JG, Lieutenant, Lt. Commander, Commander, Captain, Commodore, Admiral 4. Who ever is in command of a ship is called 'Captain' regardless of rank. Clearly Starfleet is a naval organization.

Personally, I enjoyed the Enterprise series. Granted it has created much debate among Trekkies...even in this thread...but I thought the writers did a fair job of explaining certain differences between other great Star Trek series. My favorite is how Enterprise explains why the Klingons looked different (almost human in appearance) in TOS as opposed to their look when Star Trek The Motion Picture first hit the big screen in 1979 (the first time we see their almost demonic appearance with protruding foreheads and sharpened teeth)!!

I just made this video a wile back and since I got you on the horn, just wanted to know how you felt on expanding what was there and then maybe doing two versions. I did some research on the actual USS Enterprise's and it's going to be a big video so I was thinking making the actual Enterprises part 1 and the Star Trek Ones Part 2. They are currently building a brand new aircraft carrier with their the name Enterprise it's going to take 10 years to build and I was going to end with that. Hey thank you for the feedback! My goal for last year was to remake this video. But I done ran out of time. I made this one two or three years ago and have learned a lot since LOL. The Remake will be in the first few months of this next year I hope that was the plan for last year LOL
